I started my riding career with a Shoei Neotech. Modular was never used while riding, which was a complete waste. Now I got an Icon Airflite, and have to wear ear plugs because of the difference in wind noise between helmets, but it's so much more airy and enjoyable. Plus, the four horseman design with blue tinted visor gets plenty of looks while matching my blue ZX10R 💙 KEEP KILLING IT YOU TWO

Too cheap of a helmet, i would never wear something like that. I was hit by a transport in 2006 on my motorcycle. I had a shoei helmet at the time. Having a good helmet will save your life. I'm currently wearing an Arai Corsair X.

Best part of Scorpion is the customer service! Bought the EXO-R1 Air display unit. Realized I was missing the breath guard and the local store didn’t help me out. Contacted customer service via chat, after telling my story, he immediately asked for my address with no questions. Got it after 2 weeks. Never had such stream lined, no BS customer service before in my entire life.

    Nice lid!
Scorpion's come a long way. While my ego always wanted a Shoei/Arai, nothing else came close to Scorpions in terms of fit.
Want an R1 but I'm still rocking the R2000. Before that, I had the 500 and 400 x2. Wrecked in all 3 and they each did an excellent job of protecting my noodle. 👍

almost bought this helmet.......have an HJC RPHA 11 which i do like but wanted one for daytime and 1 for nightime.....tinted shield and non tinted without taking off shields constantly plus not stinking up 1 helmet , they each get a break
i bought AGV K6.....its super light and visibility is outstanding on this helmet, really makes a difference...plus the tucked in chin area and 4 different shell sizes i was able to fit into a smaller shell size......and it has a 1 piece neckroll cheekpad like scorpion......if i bought a 3rd it would probably be scorpion though......that gloos carbon looks so much better than the matt version

HI there. Just watched your review on this helmet and thought it was great. I had 1 question for you. You said in the video that you were thinking of getting the HJC RPHA 11 Carbon but went for the scorpion instead. After having the helmet for the last 5/6 months are you still happy with the choice you made or are you thinking you should have gone for HJC instead? I am asking as im in the same dilema as you but i can currently get the HJC for £266.07 (converted that is $362.63). If you could get the HJC for that price would you stick with Scorpion or get the HJC. I currently have a Scorpion for the last 2 years but its a cheaper model (510 exo air) but i no Scorpion so know what im getting. In total whats your opinion please. Thanks

Exo R1 offers very good fit and amazing feel. looks awesome and aggressive, my third helmet is also from scorpion not the top end but for office commute it does the great job. After riding the bike where the oil gets really much warmer and checking it it's above the F marks. Where is your level after a ride? I want to do things right. You can ever let it sit over night, then fill between L and F I usually got 3/4 of the way to F myself. Lenny Kibbs sportbike track gear weighed the DOT version in medium (same shell size as small) and it came in at 3.15 lbs. I have the ECE European version of this helmet and my medium comes in at 2.67 lbs.
There’s no way the DOT version is 2.5 lbs.

@@shimjohn Thank you for confirming, that's what I thought, once a helmet runs through DOT spec it gains weight even worse with Snell- I have the RPHA 11 carbon @ 3.06# figure it was suspect that the OP claimed this scorpion is at 2.5#
That's why I asked if this was DOT or Euro spec Now I know why I never got a response from the OP, maybe clueless with the differences between US and Euro versions?

Lenny Kibbs hahah yea possibly so. And yup, you know what’s up. Anytime a helmet comes from ECE over to DOT or DOT + Snell it becomes way heavier. ECE doesn’t require such thick shells like Snell because they also do angular impact and not just straight up and down. But I got my ECE carbon version before they were sold in the US as DOT versions and I couldn’t be happier. I have a much lighter helmet and it was way cheaper ($400 shipped from Netherlands to US vs $550 here). And I’ve never had an issue with using it on American streets. Most cops don’t check that anyway.
I’m sure you’ve seen it but FortNine has some fantastic vids on all the certifications and those vids definitely changed my mind on what I used to think was the gold standard (Snell) and now I’m a complete believer in ECE and FIM certifications.
Fun fact - Fabio Quartararo uses the small version of the Scorpion EXO-R1 Air in MotoGP and that one is FIM certified. So if it’s good enough for MotoGP, it’s good enough for me lol. 😎

I don't dislike these helmets. I would buy one but I can't get past the Harry Potter S on the front. Scorpion needs to let that go. Terrible aesthetic.

Lol I never saw the S as a Harry Potter thing, but then again I’ve never seen any of the movies. I always liked the S logo personally, guess it boils down to preference 👍🏻

Scorpion USA predates Harry Potter. I had one of the original EXO 700 Crackhead helmets when they came out

@@jeffh278 yeah cool. I see the S and that's all I can picture is the Harry Potter thing. Nothing against scorpion. They make great gear at amazing prices.
