- Tails is here guys! Please read the following for additional info.
1. I have made separate object for Tails that inherits from obj_Sonic.
2. No boosting for Tails.
3. I haven't made in stage HUD for Tails.
4. I have made separate scripts for common and unique moves for characters.

OK, I'm very new to GMS and I'd just like to know a couple things about the engine -
One: How can I change Tails' fly into more of a hover (keeping vertical height while _holding down_ the jump button, not being able to mash it to gain height)?
Two - Is there some way I could give Tails an air dash (like when Sonic and Shadow have nothing to lock on to, but not being able to home in on enemies and objects)?
Three - is there some way I could make it so the game's tiles don't get scrambled when in windowed mode?
@@jeffreyfaphere I've already done the flying part, so that's done. Still don't know how to get the game to not be scrambled in windowed mode.
Damn, this sure adds variety and spice to the game instead of having it be boosting all the time. I actually like it.
Hopefully we get Knuckles in the future.
cool function, you can tag team if you put obj_sonic and obj_tails next to each other but if one of them dies, u restart, also crashes when you boost when tails is in control

One last thing before you probably leave this project forever. Fix the game crashing when boosting as tails, and also have tails realize it is a side character in tag team (what i mean is so that sonic does not restart when tails dies.

@@vqx14 it’s in GMZ format so there is an option in GMS 2 that imports old GMS projects, on start screen.

i added silver to the engine lol
How did you do that?
@@vqx14 it was quite simple. first I cloned obj_sonic to become obj_silver, then I clone the drawing script for sonic and have the clone being meant for silver. drawing scripts dertimine what your player looks like in game. i change up the drawing script clone so it can make obj_silver look like the silver sprites i uploaded to my copy of the engine. after that I finally have silver, but he's way too much like sonic, so I removed the boost and cloned p_move_sonic (that script is what chooses what sonic can or cannot do) to become p_move_silver and the last step is to assign tail's flying script to p_move_silver and boom, you have silver.
@@vqx14 its far from perfect though, because of my tinkering sonic no longer functions the way he does and trying to play as tails crashes the game entirely

LloydLuigi123 you can download cracked version of game maker studio 1.4.9999 but remember not to professionally use it.
one question: how do you play as sonic, i downloaded this one because its the only one that will actually run but every time i run the engine im always set as tails and i dont know how to change characters.
There are 2 character objects
1. obj_Sonic
2. obj_Tails
In test stage, remove obj_Tails and place obj_Sonic

I know this is an older video, but I have a problem. When I loaded the 1.5.1 update (I'm using Profesional Edition), it says "Obsolete function: vaiable_global_exists. What do I do?
This project is made on 1.4.1803 (standard) version of GMS, if you are using a lower version then it’ll have problem. Many people are using my project in 1.4.9999 version and they’re facing no problem.
