I’m 5’ 10”, my Focus SAM was a size M and this Capra is a size L. My best advice would be to use and trust the size guide on YT’s website - I did and I couldn’t be happier!
Great first impression. I really dig your video style, fun to watch! You cleared that rock-slab very nicely ath the end, I know how pleasing clearing a feature liek this is especially on a new bike! And btw. this looks like an awesome place to ride!
I originally had a 2k budget for a second hand bike but with the current market it’s hard to find anything worth it. So might stretch up to a brand new 27.5 comp in dune grey. Just looks sexy 😂
Cheers for the kind words! Sorry it’s taken me ages to reply!! 🙊 On the descents, this bike is a dream but when it’s a bit flatter, the bigger wheels really carry speed well, so I have no complaints. As for ‘pop’ I’m pretty bad at jumping generally, but I have noticed this bike has a tendency to absorb everything, rather than bounce off it. That may be because I tend to run quite soft suspension with slow rebound though. I think getting a good boost off lips is about 95% technique, 5% bike to be honest 😛
Sweet video! I am deciding between the Jeffsy and this Capra, the trails around me are mainly XC-type trails so the ability to climb is really playing a big factor in my decision. My favorite trails are more enduro/downhill but I do not want to get stuck with only having one bike and not be able to ride certain trails. Would you recommend I go with the Jeffsy base model or the Capra comp? I would love to have an enduro bike but if the Capra is unable to do some longer climbs I may have to go with the Jeffsy, what are your thoughts?
bozin 76 Thanks for watching and I’m glad you enjoyed! If the Shred had been available 4 weeks ago, I wonder if I’d have made the same decision... if you want a carbon Enduro bike, I’m pretty sure this Comp 29 is unbeatable on value, but the spec sheet on that alloy shred is 🤯
Really good video mate, I have just got the exact same bike. I was wondering out of the box did you do any adjustment to the brakes? Mine feel really spongy with alot of travel in the lever?
Josh Holt sorry Josh, missed this comment! Yeah for me the brakes were absolutely perfect out of the box. The codes are quite modulated (more so than the saints in my opinion) so that could be it? But a ‘Spongey’ feel is never good. It’s a straight forward job to bleed the brakes, but you shouldn’t have to do it - get on to YT customer service dept!
@@TheExtraCrank thanks for the reply man, yea im going to bleed them and see how they feel, hearing more and more bad stories from YT customer service, which is never a good thing. Hopefully a bleed and good bedding in will do the trick!
Hi Dilan - good question! I’m looking to get into racing again, and wanted something that will never hold me back as I improve and move onto more aggressive terrain and bigger jumps. Ive run Sram Codes on a previous bike and have never really had better performance, so that was a selling point. Plus the flip chip makes this (imo) a perfect, only-bike option. Also, the Jeffsy wasn’t in stock... 😶
The Extra Crank thank you for the response. One more question why 29 over 27.5? Also. I ride 27.5 but never ridden 29 idk what the difference is. Thank you
Yeah no real complaints in that regard. I’m currently applying some science to getting the right set up for me, but straight out the box it was still excellent. Excellent grip over rough terrain. Not sure I’d ever call MTB comfy though 😬
Hi, I want to buy the 27,5 comp. 70% normal Trail to technical steep Singletrail, 10% Bikepark, 20% offical MTB Tracks Is climbing ok also when it getting steeper?
Hi again!! Yeah it’s ok at climbing, but if you value that 10% bike park highly, I think you’ll like the Capra! It’s great on singletrack and techy stuff, especiallly with FlipChip set to ‘high’
A lot of people told me that the back of the bike is to thick. Because of that they told me that you will touch it with your foot everytime is that true? Because i really like pedaling uphill and i dont want that to happen everytime.
So the ‘Boost’ hub (148mm) is pretty standard on Enduro bikes so it’s probably no wider than any other similar bike. Having said that, the chain stays on both sides are now marked up from rubber off my shoes, so yeah I’d say that’s to be expected unfortunately. If a climbing weapon is what you are after, I probably wouldn’t recommend the Capra. It climbs ok, but it’s no XC bike!
The Extra Crank Jeff on my specialized enduro I’ve notice some marks that looked like scratch marks and dirt in that region, realized there’s a vinyl protection I’ve the painting and that boom my foot must be brushing it but I never notice it ever, I have size 12 shoes and big guy so I don’t think smaller shoes would have any issue, I’d assume same spec with my enduro to Capra Extra crank, can it be a pretty quick pedaler? I love my specialized enduro but looking for something little bit more playful and fun, also carbon (I have 2019 aluminum x wing enduro) too redundant? Jeffsy sold out :(
Hi nice video, how would you compare the Capra bike sizing compared to previous bikes. Some reviews have mentioned the bike being a size smaller?

I can’t decide between getting this bike or the Capra shred
Cooper Winter If you’re down to those two, you will not be making a bad decision I am sure :)
which one did you go with?
Fantastic!
Enjoy these videos - just started biking at the grand old age of 40 and live in Dyce so been up to Kirkhill once already!
Awesome - hope to see you on the trails!
Nice review on the Capra. I bought mine about 2 months ago and only have good things to say about it.

I doubt you’ll regret it!
YT Capra the best super enduro bike ❤
Nice video dude ;)
Awesome vids mate! Just wondering how playful the comp feels on less decending flowy trails, and popping off bumps? Cheers

Think I’m gonna sell the HT and get this bike.

What would u rate this bike on downhill tech and jumps out of 10 stars? 1 being worst and 10 being best. And 11 being over the top good
DH I’d give it 10 - better than full on DH bikes of 10 years ago.
For jumps, I’m not sure. I actually suck at jumping!!!!
Nice video,, what’s color your bike ?
Cheers - they call it ‘Dune Grey’
The Extra Crank yt capra comp ?
Yep that’s right. It’s the best value option of the range (in my opinion)!
The Extra Crank thanks brother,, are you located ? Nice video brother
I’m based in Aberdeen, North East Scotland mate
How is the fox suspenion? Is it comfy and plush?

Honestly not bad at all. I actually mention this in my latest video (5 things I Love/Hate...) so go check that out if you get a minute!

MaNamIsJeff Yeah with a bit of scrubbing 🧽 luckily, there’s frame protection clear tape there too, so nothing on the actual frame itself 👍
