The effective resistance sounds really low on the new ones, sounds like a world of difference in comparison. Can that device give you an idea of actual amp hour if its given more data?
you can calculate the max amp draw, but not capacity, no way to predict that without a 20 hour test (on lead acid), resistance of lead acid changes as it gets older, so the machine cannot know what battery capacity it should be, the car testers you input the rated CCA (or other standard as printed on battery) and it measures the resistance and then does the simple math to give you the test cca, the inputted cca is then divided by the tested cca to give you a percentage of health
SLA's have a tortured life. They are not really sealed. I can't remember the number of them I've had to change out in those APC UPS backups but it approximates infinity.
Your HP4261can measure this too (but look in the manual for the max voltage) To really analyse them you can use a network analyser or bridge. A good battery is ohms, a bad one has capacitance. I have a video I do that with an ESI-250 LCR bridge. ruclips.net/video/AXzY1nROXrs/видео.html
TheDefpom oh that is bad. I live in a different country (Netherlands) and here it is rare to have surges and we maybe have one disruption a year. I guess you have a generator too then.
@@stevesaunders7810 The lower the resistance the better, the reason why the new batteries had higher resistance is because their charge state, if both new and old were at the same charge state the new batteries will have lower resistance
Good info
Please advise where one can get that battery resistance meter you are using. What load does it put on the battery ?
I just had a look and it seems there is a new version now: s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DkFXHY9
Interesting results. Where did you get the battery resistance meter?
I showed it in a mailbag video a few months ago, I will check back and find the website link for it and add it to the description.
TheDefpom
Cheers.

they are pressure vented, effectively sealed but if you over charge them you are going to vent
Jesus I know we yanks are hard to understand at times, but holy hell do you mumble a lot..listening with headphones didn’t help either
all your livefeeds confused me 2 of them never went live on my end

is power in your area unreliable ?
Very, it is normal to get a few surges a week.

eh? why is the internal resistance higher on the new batteries?
Possibly due to the charge state, as the state of charge has an effect on the resistance.
AC internal resistance measured, higher = better. Zero Ohm = short circuit. 1 MOhm = hardly any current draw... Nice vid.

Those batteries should last you up to 3 years , they must had been used
Signal View Radios - brand new, but obviously of poor quality
Didnt make sence ..readings myst be wrong.
