He's not bad at it. He just put faith into Costco being the better alcohol. In regards to knowing which alcohol is better tasting, he is good at it.
For a person who lives his life with liquor, Eugene really doesn't know his liquor.
He assumed the better liquor would be costco and he was wrong about that if he assumed opposite like everyone else he would've gotten most of them right

That's pretty accurate to real life. I've never heard of a drunk who was also an alcohol aficionado. People who drink every day to get drunk usually have really bad taste in mostly anything. They're also losers.

Peter Sok I think it's the aged 25 years Crown Royal Select actually, although my friend swears it's Gentleman Jack. Either way, I use it for culinary purposes, and it imparts great flavor, while the vodka makes an amazing cheese sauce with the cheeses sold at Costco.

x0scimy0x It's standard in the food industry to can and bottle multiple brands in the same factories, and just paste different labels on them. With liquor, most of the cost is in transporting glass bottles, and storing them safely. By using larger bottles, Costco reduces their cost substantially. Also, alcohol is heavily taxed, often per bottle (cork tax) and Costco counts as a Wholesale members only club, which allows them to bypass many of these taxes. Costco also tends to be outside city limits, which takes away another place they can tax your booze. Then yes there is also the lack of multi-billion-dollar marketing schemes including celebrity endorsements, etc.

Okay, it sincerely bothers me that buzzfeed doesn't understand the process of whitelabeling. Costco purchases the liquor from actual high end companies and "whitelabels" the bottles to say Kirkland Signature instead of, let's say for example, Grey Goose. Because of this, they are able to sell it much cheaper under the name "Kirkland Signature French Vodka" while Grey Goose makes money by moving a large amount of product without losing the high end image of their brand. Many companies do this. It's not a new process and it's not a secret. #themoreyouknow

Costco's Kirkland Signature brand of alcohol is made at the same factories as the name brand ones. Just like you said grey goose and the KS vodka :)
