      Reply Mike Worden 57 from Denise f i e l d s hi Mike how are you I just received your comment and you came in under Daryl Hall the title of the song dreamtime very nice song from the 80s. I'm very glad that you enjoyed the song especially the drunks but for some reason we felt that this song was underrated back in the day. And why do you feel that way please let me know. To be perfectly honest what I heard was a lot of fantastic music a lot of energy vibes and I don't know to be very honest with you what happened in the eighties with the song because I never heard it in the eighties where I lived. You know the public gets your biggest opportunity to hear what's out there as far as music that is being played and that's why the DJs and I can't I do have to apologize but I never heard it at that particular time but didn't seem to it now I don't see what was wrong with it and especially because I enjoy the damn thing oh my God I could put a lot of moves into that song, because I am very aware of the group Hall & Oates that this is ridiculous song I don't remember, so the thing that you enjoyed most of the sun was the drums huh yeah they were outside to me I enjoyed all of the music and if I enjoy the music then I will enjoy the Song . Well other than Daryl Hall who would you consider is being your favorite artist and the title of the ßong. And the reason that I was asking because you never know it might be a song that we would like to play for you. Do you happen to play drums yourself, and the reason that I asked is because you were very in tune to the drums which was a good thing it's all music LOL smile 😁🎶😎😀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀👍. Well I would like to thank you so very much for being a listener to the station and I would like you to know that we are now offering my check if you another where and we have a group of songs that fall under the category of soft rock and please don't let that be mistaken is hard Rock because it's completely different. It just so happens to be a group of songs by so many different artists that is Michael Bolton Lionel Richie your supply and so so many more that's unbelievable and you would have to hear for yourself but I just wanted to email in the event that you want to wear and you might want to check it out for yourself okay so again I do thank you and please take care until I can goodbye for now. 👍🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀😀🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶😁

    What a great song! I can’t believe it’s not played on 80s stations. Daryl Hall was an early influence on my own music and performance. He was the reason I could visualize being a keyboardist and lead singer simultaneously, which I’ve done in a few bands over the years. This song is simply a wonderful composition!

      Agreed. anyone who sings,and is trained can recognize his meticulous singing,his control,his range,ability to fire off grace notes like an AK47,without ever going off key. All this ,and making it sound and feel effortless.He also has the gift to sing in the soparano range and still project a masculine tone, which is astonishing. I have no idea how he does that. I feel he's the best pop/soul/rock singer in American music history. He's the Andrea Bocelli of Pop.

      I think the OP is taking about him as a solo act. His albums never came anywhere near the stratosphere of H&O (other than this song; pure pop perfection, IMO).I think it’s an indication of how integral Oates was to the equation, even if they didn’t write together in the same room most of the time. They played well off of each other and it shows in the material they put out compared to Daryl’s solo career. I mean, he made some good records, just didn’t have that H&O polish and hooks that would grab you at first listen. Maybe that was the whole point all along. For him to get off on this other artistic muse that was also inside of him. One that didn’t really for the H&O “formula.”
      His “Laughing Down Crying” from 2011 is amazing. Top to bottom just not a weak song to my ears. I think it’s my favorite of his solo work followed close by “Can’t Stop Dreaming.”

This song's theme is similar to "Everything Your Heart Desires," which came out around the same time. Standing there is a man with Movie Star Eyes
    Think he's gonna take care of you
    The man with the plan that'll see you through
    I say there ain't no way
    'Cause I know he's a lie"
    These are some of the most genius lyrics of the late 80's! Darryl Hall could not be more under appreciated! Not to take away from John Oates but after such success as a duo of songwriters of generation songs, I still am amazed that Darryl Hall didn't get the recognition he should have for genius works such as this!

    This was actually one of Daryl's very best and most adventurous songs, but we're talking a genius here. He and John Oates made some of the greatest music ever. They knew how to blend all kinds of music soul, rock, pop, all into a unique thing. This song starts off rollicking harder edged and has a psychedelic climax. Nice work.

    This is one of those songs that I can vividly remember hearing for the very first time. It was amazing then, it's still amazing now. Dave Stewart's production is flawless, he manages to incorporate the Hall & Oates trademark of making background vocals into hooks, and his avoidance of '80s synths on the track (but using strings and harpsichord!) makes it timeless.
    And seriously, is there anybody in the world better than Daryl Hall at singing the word "girl"?

      Roger Nilsson I meant to say it did not take off in the UK, where it only reached number 28. The charts in Britain were competitive in the eighties-artists had to sell a lot of records to have a top ten hit. The song did not receive the recognition it deserved in Britain.

      @m46279 8 лет назад

      The British seem to think anything below a Top 10 is a flop. It's always been that way. Not sure why. Only can imagine that because it's a smaller country, it doesn't take a lot of sales to make it into the top 40 as opposed to the US, where even a top 100 (or at least top 40) is considered an achievement.
