Black Swan is an artistic masterpiece and I wish it had gotten way more recognition than it did.
I wanted them to submit THIS mv for the Grammys so badly. The song is incredible, and I remember when the video dropped as a surprise.. it's so perfect. 💜

ooooh articulate is a great way to describe Jimin's dance. It expresses the meaning of the song very well (I interpret it as conveying the pain and hopelessness of losing passion for something you love because then it feels like you don't know yourself anymore)

I don’t mind when reactors pause. I like their commentary and opinions. Sometimes I’m like “stop! You just let the moment go by without stopping!!!” lol. Or they have to talk over good parts. That’s more annoying. People who complain about pausing should just go watch the original video.
This group is sensational, I had never seen a group that had all styles of music and did it great in all of them, and that sing like angels while dancing and dancing from jip jop to traditional dansa, that is so passionate about their work in perfection regardless of all the pain problems that they cause them, and that they love their fans as the most important part of their lives and what they have with humility they thank them, that they have a heart of gold, and sensitivity to help who can, especially to young people, trying to give good messages in their songs and in their behavior, with a unique respect towards women and the elderly; I really take my hat off to them, and they deserve the best grammy that can be given them, the unconditional support, and behold the definitive recognition of the grammys

Hiya! LOVE your reaction. Yes Jimin is trained in contemporary dance, as well as other styles. Love this video and song. I hate that COVID really kinda put a damper on the album and the amazing music and MVs that came out last year. There is an intro for their 2020 MMA (award show) performance that was the orchestral version of this song that was used for just the opening of the nearly 20 minute set they did for that show, and they debuted the performance of this song on James Corden but honestly every time they have performed this has been a little different and so amazing. Hope you check out more. There is also the original MV that was released for this song that is the orchestral base but the whole song, but is performed by a European dance company. It is so amazing and interpretive. Thanks!!!

@@Lin-kk5be if you watch the video of him doing his dance behind the scenes, you can see what they mean by that. He was very tired but still kept going to get it right. Him preparing doesn’t have to mean with choreography, but with energy or things like that. And his dance was incredible, I think we can all agree with that

black swan is about the death and the struggle to resurrect passion. it's so beautiful. there's another mv for this in orchestra song arrangement and contemporary dancers interpreting it. it starts with "a dancer dies twice, and the first death is more painful." it means we all die the real death but the first death we might experience is losing our passion, and that's more painful. in this song, they speak particularly of the death of passion for music and the struggle to keep it alive. burn-out. it's so real and raw. bts is on a different level. really.
Glade you enjoyed this,that guys who you liked his dance is jimin (vocalist ,dance) before joining Bts was initially top best students in art schools "modern contemporary dance department" ,+he had black belt in taekwondo ..Black swan" is one of my fav songs of them from their album "map of souls" in term of instrumental , good contemporary dance . But also the beautiful deep meaning of lyrics.as you notice like lines " It would be my first death..that what I'm afraid of " It has that emotional theme of an artist fear for losing their passion for the what they do..with this song bts dives deep into their inner selves as artists nd faces the shadows they had once hidden. The song lends voice to their fears that one day music will no longer be able to move or touch them. The very moment they come face to face with the ‘Black Swan’ within themselves, however, they are stricken with a paradoxical realization that music is all they have. It is a confession of an artist who has truly learned what music means to himself..it's also inspired from Martha Graham, who said “A dancer dies twice once when they stop dancing, and this first death is more painful.”...

This deserved more hype in my opinion. Onomatopoeia sounds are really loved in songs and that's okay but like this type of artistic music should be recognized as well. I feel so sad that music is now all flashiness and trend.

@@namjinseokeats No Problem, there is a short video of Jimin at his dance school, everyone calls it Ballet, it natural, if you don't know the difference, that's one of {8} reasons he was almost killed out of BTS, he had trouble adjusting to Hip Hop way of dancing, but Chim, Chim practiced until he got it perfect 💜
In the MV they display the meaning behind the track, Jimin shows it through his solo freestyle dancing reflecting their shadows since he’s the black swan and brings out his wings (which wasn’t part of the original choreography) this particular choreography was done by brailizan dancer which Jimin helps the others since it’s more his element with assistance from Hobi & JK who can do it too. I also noticed Jin’s reflection didnt move within the mirrors when he turned around 👀 *The song is very sad even though it may not appear that way, it’s about a dancer who dies twice (not literally) but inside after they stop dancing but the first death is most painful* BTS most scariest fear is one day they’ll lose the passion for music and dance, making them die their first death. If you’ve seen the Black Swan movie with Natalie Portman which explains why they filmed and danced in a theatre #BlackSwan #BTS
*FUN FACT: After watching Black Swan movie a couple times RM got inspired and decided to write a song about the sacrifice an artist makes when they stop performing which is the hardest thing to do the first time around.*

Ohmygosh, ohmygosh, you guys need to also watch the Black Swan live performance from the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. It was filmed during covid, so the guys aren't in studio, but it's SO GOOD! The set they built for it in Korea is gorgeous, you can see the full choreography, and their singing/rapping is still perfect, as expected. 💜

Jimin is amrys black swan as this song was made for him so he can show off his contemporary dance skills, This song was made for him and you can tell the passion he has for his dance just by watching this, what I mean by this is he gets to show of his contemporary dance skills and you can clearly see the passion hr has for his dance and his body movement is just so fluent and so beautiful.
Jimin is and will always be my black swan that swooped down to save me.
Also it's MV was a massive surprise from the boys as us armys weren't expecting it and the entire thing is beautiful and majestic like a swan
Fun fact: Black Swan is used to describe unprecedented events where the impact is severely disastrous, like the World War 1 and 2, the Fall of the Soviet Union, Financial crisis in 2008 and more.
In this track, Black Swan refers to the death of their passion towards what they do, towards music, and towards performing. Evident in their lyrics; "it will my first death, I've been always so afraid of". It's basically saying Life without passion is simply worthless.
They've embodied the lyrics very well in the MV. The choreography even reflects the fear if ever their music doesn't make their "hearts vibrate". I mean, shoes were off and they went off!

Do you know that Black Swan is originally a ballet performance. Jimin is a classically trained dancer. Jin had never danced or sang until BTS. JungKook was only 13 years old (15 Korean) when he left his home and became a BTS trainee. When BTS is learning a new song or dance they practice 10-12 hours a day (until it is perfect). They have become a true family and they care for each other. Check out Agust D-1 and D-2 , Daechwita (Suga's MV). Make sure you have the English captions on. The sword dance Suga performed in Daechwita is an authentic sword dance that he was taught by a master. There are lots of videos on You Tube to review and learn more about BTS.
I’m so glad you loved this so much! It’s one of my all time favourites too. The dance is BEAUTIFUL and the atmosphere they create is amazing. The lyrics are SO well done, it’s describing how loss of love for your art is like dying your first death (based on a quote from a famous dancer about how the day a dancer stops dancing is the day the dancers dies their first death). And the way they describe the depression surrounding it is so fucking tangible! Like when they describing it I was like “YES THATS EXACTLY IT!”. The ocean floor lines hits hard if you’ve ever suffered from depression I reckon.

It’s a masterpiece, it really should have gotten more attention. Jimin (the dancer you referred too) is incredible. I’m a dancer and he is the only dancer who has actually brought me to tears with his ability to convey emotion through his movements.

From what I read under song credits,, Pdogg did production, songwriting, keyboard, vocal arrangement, synthesizer, rap arrangement, and recording engineer. Pdogg is a Korean producer, not American.

Hey Chris. Contemporary but interpretive is a new way of looking at it. It was carefully choreographed, though, and there's a video of Jimin's day spent filming the solo dance. He's a perfectionist.
I know it sounds like a bop, but BTS bops are rarely just bops. They can go pretty deep. This one is about an artist's fear of losing their passion and how that would be like dying. There's another behind the scenes video of the whole group that has some pretty funny moments. Everything they do is so cinematic and on point.

Also, these boys have quite a few rnb tracks. One of their older songs “Just One Day” is also a fave of mine. Just a vibe for me 👌🏽 their armypedia performance is a good lil sampler of their older smooth ones. Love their broad music tastes and that they explore all types of sound. But you can tell rnb and rap are their sweet spots.
