You should try out Archlord Kristya as a replacement for Vanity's! It has the same effect without the "cannot be special summoned" clause. So when your LADD gets outed you can use its effect to summon your floodgate back.
It kinda does but Ladd paired with Horus cards is just so funny coz it makes hard to out and even if they get rid of lad by card effect it just makes horus monsters trigger to the point where you can recycle it again

Yeh just keep a king sarc or field spell in hand if possible. Which is why you always play 3x of the field spell
Or run Decisive Battle of Golgonda, will protect everything.
