I saw this game live at the Forum. Nick had an off game. Elden carried the team with Shaq hurt. He even hit a three in clutch time. Best game he ever played in the NBA. Awesome.
I used to like when the lakers would play Shaq at center and E-Cam at PF. They had a nice squad with Shaq, E-Cam, Kob, E-Jones and Nick V…. If only they stayed together. They were so close to making g a real push in the Western Conference, they just needed one more season together, but I get the future changes as well. With Shaw and E-cam they had their own version of David Robinson and Duncan!
Elden was very solid, I remember watching this game.Lakers should've made it to the Finals in 1997 & 1998 smh those teams had so much talent.Del Harris was a good coach but he definitely had to go for not being able to reach the Finals with those rosters
Those 97 and 98 Lakers teams were super deep and talented... you are right they should of been in the finals those years.. but youth and Lack of vet leadership plus coaching was their down fall
@@edwardfisher9930 I agree but still think they should’ve got there with those rosters.Shaq had been to a Finals and Horry was a 2x champion. In that series vs Jazz in ‘98 I think Lakers should’ve won easily but Del didn’t make adjustments. Those Lakers are some of the biggest “What ifs” in nba history
Elden scored 38 in a W at DC in the following gm by the way. He was a natural C. Muresan was too slow for him so Webber n Howard had to guard him. You dont see a ton of PF size guys better suited to play 5 (or willing to). Duncan didnt want shit to do with C.

Great memories for you, mate. 👍🏀
@@inallairness Well said. Even though the Lakers lost, it was the best i game I’ve ever seen.
Elden is my all time favorite player!!
I liked elden canpell and eddie jones alot in that laker squad was little upset from trade but made sense for the future
I TOTALLY remember this duel he had with Ewing 👏👏👏
The Lakers Total points scored leader in the 1990's is Elden

I remember this period, he was eating good with Shaq out. Underrated big for sure.

He used to have a nick name of Seldom Campbell because of his inconsistencies and passive style of play.
The "Elden Campbell game". Dude couldn't miss. And he shot a ton of free throws.

Elden Campbell was always underrated especially in the mid thru late 90s. SHAQ and Magic stunted his growth.
