I personally think that the chorus isnt charted weird, but Jason really plays a weird lead in the chorus so thats why it seems as if the chart was „off“
That main intro riff definitely gives System of a Down vibes and I love it, I don't really listen to much of Jason's playing but I still had a lot of respect for him as a guitarist. Dude is such a killer player
I saw them on there fall of ideals tour (miss may I was an opener and they’re local and friends with a couple people in the band) and they came out and starting jamming I said wait a minute that’s fuckin Jason Richardson 😂😂😂
The fact miss may I was opener must've been a stacked line up considered they're way more popular than ATR are currently but that tour probably sold out because fall of ideals

I kind of get it as well.
I think the first single Divine is more intereting especially guitarwise than this single, but definitely not up to par of their old stuff. I'm glad to see a somewhat return to form though cause their other more recent albums across the years were not the best. I don't think we will ever get Fall of Ideals/Overcome ATR back, especially with Ollie being gone, but at least they are returning somewhat to the roots. Hopefully the album as a whole is really good
I like first single better but I had to get use to those songs because this time they decided to go modern and a lot is going on. I like more classic style like As I Lay Dying's latest single
I've just been wondering when the hell anthony barone is actually gonna play drums like I know he knows how to. Dude is way underutilized in these 2 singles

I'm sure I'm slightly biased because of my negative feelings on Phil as a person, but they just sound stale at this point. Jason is an incredible guitarist but all the modern riffs thrown in just don't fit ATR's sound and Phil's vocals sound strained and tired. But I haven't really loved an album of theirs since 2010 so I guess I'm not all that surprised.
I'm anATR fan and like most albums (Except Madness and A War You Cannot Win). Phil has sounded like this for a while on the albums now and I don't mind it, but there is something about the combination of the more modern riffs and the modern (kinda shit) production combined with his style of vocals that doesn't work for me. But who am I a lot of people seem to be incredibly hyped by the new songs.

Phil found autotune and it really killed what was an amazing band. The riffs are still there but its got no oomph. Same shit they have been doing for 10 years.
