I grew up there. Lived there from 1989-2008. Roosevelt Island is forever embedded in my heart. Growing up there in the 90’s was the best. I visited recently and it hasn’t really changed much. Love that place forever!
Lived there from 2009-2013. At the time it was a great place to live and was very reasonably priced. We lived lived directly across from the parking ramp at 10 River rd. for $1900 per month in a 1 bedroom with excellent access to the grocery store and parking ramp.
@@mundanethings208 If you actually were looking to move there then there's a building on Roosevelt Island that will have affordable housing. The lottery for it is currently active and they are offering the apartments to a wide range of income levels. Great video and great shots! I wanted to ask since I'll be there soon, is it still allowed to fly drones in Roosevelt island where u flew from? I just want to be sure since I'll be there soon and would love to as well.
Thank you! I had no issue flying my drone there but I can’t guarantee the same for you; the situation may have changed. NYC does not allow drone flights in those areas, but Roosevelt Island is technically part of New York State. Hope that helps.
Hello from Argentina. I’ve been to NYC several times but never even considered Roosevelt Island because it seemed empty, boring, the tramway looked tacky and I’ve never liked the design of Queensboro Bridge. But I’m happy to see the island has been redeveloped and looks so nice, I may visit next time I’m there😉
Yeah man, it’s a hidden gem that not a lot of people visit. But the views of the skyline were one of my favorite parts of visiting the island. I’d love to make my way to visit NYC again
hey bro amazing music your channel is coming so far bro. ! im doing well now i fell off for the last time as ive had to deal with some serious personal stuff. hope to hang with yal" soon and throw da cam on my shoulder where it belongs. also I will be promoting and pushing your channel as well please let your subscribers know about adventures with Andrew so they can learn about all the technology and computer needs they may have l8ter Bro
This guy is one hell of a narcissist because he is more interested in showing us his face than he is interested in showing us the island. There is really no reason for the video to display his face, at all. His voice for narrating the landscape would suffice.
@@DiscoverWithDima I didn't watch it. Or more accurately, I stopped half-way through, after concluding the video really exists only to show closeup face pics of the narcissist photographer, and the words "Roosevelt Island" were just click bait.
Love it dude, that beat at 1:28 is SOOO NYC. Drone shots were epic!
Thanks bro! 👏🏼 I know haha I wanted something a little more old school! I’m glad I got the drone shots, a little risky but they were worth it!

Thank you for making a trip all the way to the island, on a cold winter day!
The drone footage looks cool. Thank you again!
Thanks for checking out my video! I’d love to come back there one day.
I miss going here everyday and getting coffee and reading a book. I wish lockdown is over soon.
Don't care much for big cities myself, especially in 38 degree conditions. Drone shots were the highlight :-)
It’s nice to visit them, but I don’t think I’m ready to live in them haha. I got plenty more of those! Lol
Your Lucky your drone didn’t get shot down by the NYPD the UN is just over there.
I do agree with you, Roosevelt island is really underrated, great vlog
kinda better. hehehe i really wanna go there
What an absolutely beautiful place that I hope to visit one day.
You should go to the light house by the way. On the other side of the island.
its been a while since i've been to Roosevelt Island
That hospital is the one from that one mission in gta iv... i never realised it was based on an actual thing
Yeah, all of the GTA games are somewhat based on real places
Looks amazing. I heard the Smallpox Hospital would be renovated to allow the public in sometime in the future...?
Thanks! I haven’t seen that though, I doubt it though, although it has been discussed before.
Hi dude. Great video!!! How could you use a drone in NY? I saw the NYC official site and it says its forbidden. Thank you in advance.
Dark Water with Jennifer Connelly
don't forget to check out the panoramic rooftop at the graduate hotel. Insane views !!
I’ll do that next time! Thanks!
I live here. I love it
Is that legal? I want to fly my drone over here too but not sure if it’s legal

Thank you, nice little island with a big view! 😊👏
You’re welcome! Yes it is!
Love the video the music was great and I haven't seen New York and so many years thanks again so much
Thanks Colleen! Appreciate the support :)
Hey, did you have to have a special permit to fly the drone in the island?
I didn’t, but the laws may have changed since then
Was there in july 2019 😍🙆🏼♀️
4:15 can you go on the grass on the other sides of the posts?
Yeah, why not? It’s an open space
@@DiscoverWithDima so the posts are there for what reason 🤔
What time of year was this. Visiting in December and wondering what time is sunset

Love the beats, very NYC. Well done.
Awesome thanks! I was going for that :)

Reminds me of Singapore
Is smoking allowed on the island? Marijuana or vape ?
I would defer to the local law enforcement agency that patrols it
Wonder if drones are allowed there?
Not sure! But if I go again I will find out :)
Can i ride on a bike(cycle) from nyc to this island ? / video shot on ?
There is car access to the island but I think you may be able to get your bike on by getting on the Roosevelt Island tramway!
Here from crysis 2

1.) Can I go to Roosevelt Island by underground train?
2.) Can I buy a house in Roosevelt Island?
You can take the subway yes, there’s a stop there. And idk, that is up to you!
