This is a SURVIVAL show. Everyone had someone to compete with and the best one makes it. Jooheon was Guns competition because they were the most similar and unfortunately the best one made it. Monsta X is a great group now I'm sure Gun will be fine everyone gets rejected. REMEMBER show nu was rejected from Got 7. It's part of their life your time will come

I think Shownu hates the idea of being a solo singer since he kind of used to train along with GOT7 members. Moon Yh, I truly agree, Minhyuk definitely brings a lot to the group now. At first I also thought he wasn't as strong in vocals, but he has definitely improved and is a great speaker for the group in variety shows.

Sorry but I disagree.. 😐 I love Minhyuk's husky voice. Like Kihyun's his voice is easy to recognise. It's just like Weeee!123 said, Starship didn't really give Minhyuk an opportunity to show his vocal range. I absolutely love his voice in Gone Bad and White Sugar even though he doesn't have many lines. I think his voice goes really well with R&B but MONSTA X doesn't have many songs in that genre.
After watching it a lot of times I still don't get it why people would think Minhyuk can't sing as lovely as other vocals in Monsta X. He has a really nice voice and it just needs to shine out more

#Gun doesn't belong in a boy group, where he only gets 3-4 lines and mediocre melodies and dancing. He deserves and would work better with a solo career, where he can write his lyrics wholeheartedly and not have to worry about sharing a song with other guys. Starship did him a favor.
It's 2020 and this performance still comes to mind I want to cry at how much Minhyuk and Shownu has improved so much (#GUN is still underrated) I'm just so glad that their hard work is paying through and they constantly release bops without any rest. Love Killa is their recent comeback!
Thoughts: Okay I'm bothered by how people are hating on the Visuals (Hyungwon, Wonho, and Minhyuk) for all making it into the team. Okay people they are called visuals because they are exceptionally good looking NOT because they are talentless and ONLY good looking. Did you hear Wonho's singing in Caffeine? Did you see how Wonho didn't sleep b/c he was editing the song into perfection and was complimented by the judges for its high quality? Did you see how he did a phenomenal job as the team's leader? Did you hear Hyunhwon singing No Diggity? Hyungwon dances well too and that's why he got the special dance part in Trespass choreography next to Shownu. And Minhyuk (who I love to death - only second to Shownu, my UB) may be weak in music (I don't think so, but many argue) but he is such a bright, bubbly, fun guy that he is going to great in variety shows - he is a fantastic entertainer (yes, they are singers but they are also entertainers, very important). So STOP HATING ON THE VISUALS. Also, people keep being so furious about # gun but I think it is pretty clear that as good as # gun is, he is way too similar to Jooheon and Jooheon is better (arguable, but Jooheon won against # gun every time) and I.M.'s very different but equally great rap voice brings the necessary diversity to Monsta X. Imagine having 2 rappers who sound the same in one group. Also, as awesome as # gun is, Monsta X is big on dancing and # gun cannot dance well. And my gosh y'all acting like # gun can't debut in another group or as a solo! Do you not know about Jang Hyun Seung who didn't make it into Big Bang (and dude we talkin' about the boss of KPOP, Big Bang) and he is doing amazingly in Beast now. Okay I'm done. I agree on your thoughts, especially #gun and jooheon. It was clear throughout every challenge that jooheon would debut. #gun's energy is way too similar to jooheon, though. The group needed a rapper that could bring his own fire but also balance jooheon out, and that rapper wasnt #gun, as much as I loved him throughout this show.
It can work if there's more than 2 rappers. For example, on some BTS songs Hobi and Suga can sound similar, but RM has a different style. If Starship wanted to they could've made MX an 8 member group with 3 rappers, or they could've put #Gun in but eliminated Minhyuk, Wonho, Hyungwon or Shownu (Kihyun has the best vocals so he was always gonna be in like Jooheon was always gonna be in.) But I agree about differences in rap style, when you look at different groups you can see it, one of the best examples and a group similar to Monsta X would be BAP. Yongguk and Zelo's flow balanced each other in the same way Joohoney and I.M do. For that reason, I'd love to see MX do a cover of a BAP song.

I'm a new fan and I just started watching this survival show. And I saw Jooheon and Gun performed and they are so good and so strong tbvh. But if Gun made it to debut, whether they like it or not, their rap may compete each other. They both have strong aura when they rap. They are on the same level of intensity when they rap. Balance is a thing. And I.M is the one who made the balance when he made his way to debut. Gun is really good, his time will come. :))
I always come back to this performance because of Shownu, but then slowly fell for Minhyuk too^^ I don't know 'bout gunhee yet, because I'm not really keen on his rapping style.. I'm not even sure why, because I actually like rap.. Maybe it'll change in the future:)
The fact is they really want many 'visuals' in one team instead of placing three rappers in their team although he has talents. Three rappers in one team is possible but they kinda disappointed me. #Gun I'm here to support you, hope you debut soon.

Shownu wasn't rejected. He actually left the company. He was supposed to debut as the leader in Got7.

I'm a new fan and I just started watching this survival show. And I saw Jooheon and Gun performed and they are so good and so strong tbvh. But if Gun made it to debut, whether they like it or not, their rap may compete each other. They both have strong aura when they rap. They are on the same level of intensity when they rap. Balance is a thing. And I.M is the one who made the balance when he made his way to debut. Gun is really good, his time will come. :))
I always come back to this performance because of Shownu, but then slowly fell for Minhyuk too^^ I don't know 'bout gunhee yet, because I'm not really keen on his rapping style.. I'm not even sure why, because I actually like rap.. Maybe it'll change in the future:)
