I don't remember the last time I got annoyed by an actor's performance but the actress playing Katara almost ruined everything for me. She is probably one of the most bland actress (big production) I have seen in a while. I think she has potential but bringing this level of performance on a big production was a mistake. Maybe she'll take all the advices seriously and improve on the 2nd season. With the right coaching/guidance she can probably do it.
Exactly, what has happened that most of the movie studios can't find any competent actors. Do we blame the actors? The Directors? I mean really! Did noone at Netflix, realize during filming that maybe they need to recast a few of the actors/actresses? I've seen better at 3rd grade talent shows. Maybe it's that they didn't have them watch the show, to learn the characters' mannerisms or something. Or maybe it's from having them "act" in front of green screens where nothing is real... There's a lot of blame to go around. It's very sad that Netflix studios didn't listen to fans' complaints from the first Shama Lama Ding Dong's adaptation. Poor, Stiff, Lifeless acting..... This review had 10 times better acting...
Okay, so I didn't even know the first episode came out, I just assumed it was still a few months away, at least, so thank you for that... and also for bracing me for that moment... I'm going to go watch it right now.
I’m watching the new Avatar TLA right now and this chick is one of the blandest boring character of them all. I’m only on episode 2 and it’s so cringe. They only casted her because of her tribal background.
@@Grogu01probably because of all the posts/marketing that came out prior that set fans off and away from watching (example being Sokka, since they said he wasn't going to bad mouth girls anymore even though that was a key part of his character development where he finally admits Suki was a true warrior and wanted to learn from her, despite her being a girl, stuff like that). The people that are watching, probably just haven't finished yet.
Ngl, I'm not even going to try watching it because it removes so many things from the original, it probably might good or not, I'm going to see what you have to say about it
I think it’s cool to see the locations coming to life and seeing the costumes, and the action is fun and entertaining as well. It’s just some of the acting is wonky 🤦🏽
put on all the blame on the meddling Netflix executives, spineless Albert Kim, and Michael Goi in that extact order. It also a bad sign that some of those executives were also directors and writers. this live action adaptation might as well not have been made. They took way too many liberties with the characters and their development. The air temple visit in the first episode ALONE was all wrong. Also, Aang apparently can do stuff that no other air bender could do, in every series, until Kora 3rd season... and this was supposed to be pre-Kora... And, the whistle... why does he have the whistle... they haven't even... I can't... I got to episode two and clocked out. I tried going back and clocked out again with about 5 to 10 minutes left. They changed too much from the original imo. If I was coming at this as a new viewer without any prior knowledge, I could see myself wondering how the story would progress and want to watch more. Problem is, I'm not a new viewer. Hell, I just finished rewatching the first series in anticipation of this adaptation. So, I just can't see myself giving it more of a chance without constantly going, "oh c'mon why'd they change that," and, "but without this thing happening then there will be no reason for that thing later in the series," etc. etc.
@@Kemuell_Mabuen You need to remember that this isn't the exact same show as the og and isn't a 1:1 copy.
