He was brilliant at Sporting (my club) when you loaned him to us.
Then he came back for half a season and again was a stand out in the league.
And he kept hitting screamers haha
And a mention for Euro 2016 where he scored 3 goals. He was far from finished when he left old Trafford
His decline at Man Utd started after Ferguson left

Yeah besides Fletcher, Brown and Oshea.
He was integral to our success from 2008 -2013 . His tricks , skills and pace left defenders in knots. We wouldn't have won the title in 2011 without him. Berba and Nani absolutely catapult us to the title. He always put on a show and was the very few creative sparks we had on the wings.
Yet he was unfairly criticized by the biased English media for not being consistent. Which in my opinion was a complete myth and travesty . And surprise surprise , even deluded united fans jumped on the bandwagon to criticize him. Absolute bullocks.
He was by far our most consistent players along with Rooney ,Scholes , Carrick and Berba . Nani was the only player in our squad( after ronaldo and tevez left ) who could actually take on defenders and beat them. He was the only flair player we had. Yet some dickheads found it convenient to go in on him.
We see it nowadays too with Lingard and rashford being protected by the fans and English media and the likes of pogba and Martial getting scrutinized and unfairly criticized .
you couldn't have aired my views enough. I just did not understand why they kept criticizing him. He was my favorite player at that time and won several games for us single-handedly
He was pretty inconsistent though but you can't deny his quality and what he's done for the club. Rashford does get criticized a lot and so does Lingard so you should have used better examples. Regardless Nani is still a cult hero at United

I remember telling people on my school that Nani is such amazing player. They all laughed at me and someone even said that Nani is a second rate Ronaldo. I felt so ashamed that the guy was a United supporter. Nobody seems to realise that Nani was an absolute masterclass finisher and dribbler. When he was on the ball it was always a pleasure to watch. Only issue is he shared a position with Ronaldo and a era with Ronaldo. Any other era without Ronaldo and he would've been talked about as one of the greats
i remember being so excited 2007-08 when we signed Anderson, Nani, Hargreaves and Tevez. so glad i was around to witness that team.
Yes! That was our best transfer window ever and little surprise that we won the league and champions league that season without losing a single game in Europe. And to think we spent less than £60 million for the 4 players.😍

Should have won 'The Treble' again with that team, but that FA Qtr-final vs Pompey was a joke. Battered them for 90 mins but had a very rare off day in front of goal and they got a stuffy penalty with Rio in net after VDS got sent off.
Hugely underrated I remember the season Wayne gave the transfer request he carried us on his back

Nani was superb, missed him alot, had lot of qualities like CR7. Shots, dribbling, free kicks, speed, sight, statue, both legs, etc. Love him. I was loved wen CR7 on d right n Nani on d Left.

Nani was one of my all time favorite United players. He was easily the best dribbler under Sir Alex and could use both feet equally well. His first instinct was to attack. He was fearless and had a knack of scoring in big games. He scored multiple times against all the big teams Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City and Tottenham. LVG sold him way too early. He was still our best winger when he was sold. He could hit the ball so hard that it's difficult to pick his best goals for United. It's criminal that he wasn't nominated for EPL Player of the year in 2011 when he was clearly the best player for a magnificent United team that scored multiple goals in several games on their way to winning the league.

@@csokopsglazersout7447 , nope! Nani is a better dribbler than Ronaldo. Ronaldo uses step overs but isn't a pure dribbler. Nani can dribble anyone on the pitch. He was once lambasted by Arsene Wenger for dribbling too many of the Arsenal players in a 4-0 win at Old Trafford.

@@ginyu4546 that is so true, everyone expected so much of Nani when he arrived they knew what a skillful player he already was... he produced great performances and in most of times he would be the hero against the top 5 teams on premiership and yet would get so much criticism of fans and media bcos he came to Man Utd labelled as the new C. Ronaldo so they expected him to win every week. Nani was just one of biggest threat in United squad besides Rooney and C. Ronaldo. Giggs was already old.
And i cant remember if he ever score simple goal 😅

Some of us did, but generally he's labelled as player who isn't consistent. I loved the guy. He's one of the few players in recent history that played for us that can, score with his right/left, score tap ins, can cross either foot and scores screamers with both feet. Terrible business the way LVG let him go

Great footwork and neat finishing with either foot. Not quite injury prone but was out for short spells at some point most seasons. But on his day, he was unplayable!!

@B1N FeIZeL not really, he's never been an injury prone player. LVG just didn't see him in his system. LVG wanted to play with wing backs and that doesn't facilitate natural wingers and so he was sold as he wasn't getting game time
