    Gotta love Fiba/Olympic rules. I like how refs actually gives them the chance to play defense understanding it’s a physical game. Instead of that non contact BS in the nba.

If Team Germany brings this form also to the WC , we all remember the embarassing WC 2019 against Domenican Republik and the exit out of the tournemant, they could go far ! Not together tbh, they were desperate and singular performances from Edwards and Haliburton by taking tough threes brought them back in. The american team won DESPITE playing rather lackluster, and most of this falls onto germany for choking the last 7 minutes after they controlled the game from the start with good team basketball and patience on offense. Germany deconstructed the Team USA defense for most of this game. They went away from this in the last 7 minutes and barely had any off ball movement anymore. Germany threw the game, that is the story of this game.

      Which begs the question why does he turn into a mediocre playmaker in the NBA? Because in theory, the faster NBA pace and more space should make it easier for him to make plays since his game thrives on speed and penetration... I think the problem with him in the NBA is the 3pt line being further... Teams can sag off him defensively on the perimeter and he can't make them punish from three... A shorter FIBA 3pt line is more his range. Even there he can be very inconsistent, but usually he shoots it with more confidence and can hit north of 33%... In the NBA he can't hit from 3-ball range and sagging defenses + drop take away his ability to penetrate, so he's much less effective.

And yet i can still see several teams beating this US team in a one-off knockout game, namely Germany, Spain, Australia, Canada, France and Serbia...
      Make no mistake, the US is and should be favorites, they still brought the most talent in a vacuum for this competition... But that was the case in 2019 as well and they got what...? 7th place in the end? All it takes is an off shooting night from 3 and Edwards/Brunson not being able to get hot... That's all, because US has no ability anymore to dominate the transition or dominate through size. They utilize smallball lineups, except their Bigs can't shoot or pass and they're playing on less spacious FIBA courts with more physical defense...

      Lol, probably shortest bench in US history in terms of talent. Idk, it's close with the 2019 team... Only Reaves and Haliburton make a difference against the elite contender teams... Kessler is a permanent DNP because Kerr sees him as token white guy, Hart is absolutely terrible, Portis Jr. is mediocre role player playing undersized Center, Paolo is a confused baby playing undersized Center and Cam Johnson is a spot up shooter... That's the bench...

      @@zennihilator3724 I get what you're saying and i agree but a starter on an NBA team is probably all - star level at any other league in the world if you make a team with only NBA players that are starters on their team you can always put team USA as a contender for gold in the world cup

    • @zennihilator3724
      @zennihilator3724 Год назад

      @@enriquesantos4073 Yeah, but what's the point of having an 'all-star' like Ingram on a team like this where he only gets like 6, 7 shots per game... His value is because he's an isolation scorer, and on a team like this he's just not going to get enough of the ball and enough shots to unlock his full value... In this context, he's no longer an all-star but a role player, and as a role player, he doesn't bring a lot more to the table than someone like Yabusele does for France...
      This was the same problem the USA team had in 2019... They had plenty of 'all-star' offensive players like Tatum, Brown, Middleton, Mitchell, Kemba Walker... But all these guys were all-stars because they got to take 18 shots per game and dribble the ball a lot. They don't get this opportunity on a team like this, so their value has to come from off-ball shooting, passing, defense, and they're not really strong in these areas...
