Joey, please check the live plants in her room. Some cats and especially kittens like to munch on and play in house plants. Many are super deadly toxic to cats so please please consider checking the types and moving them to another area of the home especially since your gonna have some crazy curious babies moving about in just a few weeks.
My Dads Pitbull did this a few years ago. It was her first (and only) litter, we thought she was fixed (that's what we were told by the guy who gave her to us) but apparently our miniature poodle figured out that she was NOT fixed... After pup number 5 came out she was so exhausted she stopped cleaning the puppies and we started having to do it so they wouldn't suffocate. She had 8 in total but one was stillborn, so we had 7 puppies 💛 They were all adorable and I kept one for myself and hes SUPER adorable. He looks like a pitbull with poodle fur 😂
She wasnt paying attention to the 4th one because it looks like a runt, and runts dont normally live long or at all, i would keep an eye on that one, she may refuse to feed it or even try to eat it instinctively
With one cat I had after having trouble with one, it took three pushes in total, the other four came out pretty quick. I would rub her belly and she gave a big push. I had to remove the sac from one of them.

That's common for cats, they have kittens at a rapid pace because they're smaller. That doesnt mean they're neglecting their babies, it just means she wont be in pain whilst cleaning her babies and will be able to clean them properly. They make sure they can breathe ofc too
I totally support all of this but I've had cats and newborn kittens all my life and I just wanted to share a little. If you handle newborn kittens a lot in the first month and a half, they can very easily get sick and pass. I just wanted to share because it's happened to me and I lost the one I was going to keep. No hate at all, I love that youre doing this!
Usually if you wear gloves and you're sanatized it's fine. Worked at a vets for 6 years and can't even tell you how many cat births I say through, lol. Usually first time mama's need help because sometimes they don't produce milk the first day, or if kitten needs to poop and mom isn't stimulating them you'll need to help. I am honestly shocked how patient she was with all the touching and moving her about. All the cats I have known who gave birth would have bitten his hand off within about 2 seconds.
Remember joey, first time mothers of kittens dont always get it that they need to stimulate the kittens to go potty often enough, you may need to remind her by picking it up and bringing it towards her front but not full on shove it in her face. Or she could be a complete natural and take to it perfectly. Depends on the cat.
You need kitten food for the mother while she’s feeding the kittens. The kitten feeding on the mother can help with the labour. The purring could also be pain.

Sometimes when a cat doesn't pay attention to the kitten she just gave birth to it means that somethings wrong with the kitten and it may not survive. That's what happened when my cat had kittens. She completely ignored the 3rd kitten born and it died within minutes and then 2 days later rejected another one which also died.

Kittens and cats go off a scentn a youtuber that's a foster parent for kittens and sometimes cat moms said to not wash the mom unless she has fleas same with kittens. Cuz it can be dangerous after giving them baths at so young also mom and kittens won't smell the scent they knew from there mom. You can move mom and kittens to clean the area and move them back but don't clean the kittens or mom unless they have fleas.
Fun fact: humans have the longest most painful labor of any other mammal on earth. People see animals giving birth and think it's just like human birth for the momma cat. So even though she's giving birth, and she's uncomfortable, it's not as horribly painful as human births.

Cats are amazingly instinctive when giving birth! HANDS OFF, stand back! Provide liquidised food for nutrition! (High protein cat food, cooled boiled water with kitten milk supplement - blitz) If you don't give them space they move & move or can reject their kittens or choose to STOP LABOUR for up to 48hrs! Yup! Cats can do that! Completely different to dogs!
Yeah, I posted this comment when he was trying to help her with the first kitten when she clearly didn’t need help but she was struggling with the last 3 and it was fine that he helped out then. This had me anxious the whole time but I’m happy they are all healthy.

We have that alot with our guinea pigs. When that happens my mom will usually take the runt, feed it and try to get them to drink from their mother

You need kitten food for the mother while she’s feeding the kittens. The kitten feeding on the mother can help with the labour. The purring could also be pain.

Sometimes when a cat doesn't pay attention to the kitten she just gave birth to it means that somethings wrong with the kitten and it may not survive. That's what happened when my cat had kittens. She completely ignored the 3rd kitten born and it died within minutes and then 2 days later rejected another one which also died.

Not all cats i grew up with my cat and she got pregnant and I was holding her babies with gloves and she didn't do anything...but she was looking at me
Some cats WANT their bonded owners support (perhaps not with tugging the tail like this but still) they'll even follow them around mid labor. This one wants left alone it seems but they aren't all like that
Of course let the mamas take the lead though. I tried finding a nice dark, safe box for mine to nest, but she literally wouldn't leave me alone, even during contractions she would look at me or meow, or nudge me with her nose for cuddles right as they came up. If I pet her tummy shed roll on her back to give me better access.
I cleaned out and set up a whole closet for my kitten and she was basically asking me to be with her haha, it was a good experience 😅 however I did not pull her tail, handle her babies right after birth, or move her...

Kittens and cats go off a scentn a youtuber that's a foster parent for kittens and sometimes cat moms said to not wash the mom unless she has fleas same with kittens. Cuz it can be dangerous after giving them baths at so young also mom and kittens won't smell the scent they knew from there mom. You can move mom and kittens to clean the area and move them back but don't clean the kittens or mom unless they have fleas.

Cats are amazingly instinctive when giving birth! HANDS OFF, stand back! Provide liquidised food for nutrition! (High protein cat food, cooled boiled water with kitten milk supplement - blitz) If you don't give them space they move & move or can reject their kittens or choose to STOP LABOUR for up to 48hrs! Yup! Cats can do that! Completely different to dogs!
Joey I think for future reference just leave the kittens alone and let the mother handle it. Cats like to be alone and like to do things on their own
Yeah, I posted this comment when he was trying to help her with the first kitten when she clearly didn’t need help but she was struggling with the last 3 and it was fine that he helped out then. This had me anxious the whole time but I’m happy they are all healthy.
