    I love how she simplified the cooking. That's what I do, too, keeping all the complex carbohydrates that are the basis of whole foods plant based eating on hand at all times. Our fridge always has bags of baked potatoes, containers of brown rice, sweet corn ready to steam, pasta dishes, whole grain breads and more to make it easy to assemble a huge variety of meals. Adding homemade vegan sauces and other veggies & fruits rounds out the diet. My husband and I eat what we want and we never feel deprived. After a lifetime of eating meat, eggs and dairy products we're amazed that we don't even miss them. Even though we've both been retired for 16 years, our health continues to get better and better and we have much more energy and enthusiasm for living than we ever did before. Weight loss is just a side benefit. 🙂🙂

    Having watched many of these videos its surprising how many people haven't accepted what the doctor said but have decided to do some research and look for another solution. Its the sort of thing that would have been almost impossible without the internet.

    Dried chives are great. Plain old black pepper, also Italian spice from the spice rack. Try cinnamon and a little raw sugar on your rice, too. Ginger powder is also great.

    You don’t know who to believe anymore... many doctors, specialists, tell you different things about healthy diet. Olive oil is bad, olive oil is good, cut the carbs and add more fat etc... who to should you believe?

      I know what you mean. I have been reading Dr. McDougall's books and they make sense to me. You can go to his website and look up anything you want. He explains everything and shows the studies. I do great on his diet. I am sticking with him.

    Unfortunately in asia people are converting to a more western diet. Here in Thailand lots of fatty's walkin around eating KFC. Thai's eat alot of meat now.

      +Daniel Worthen I love FKC, haven't had since late 70s. my memory is that long- I've got rice on the shelf, from instant to whole grain brown rice, like it with variety of beans *from a can, with some frozen vegetables, what could be easier. Can't stand grease of any kind anymore, not even on potato chips. I'm grease free and meat free! A person loses their taste for that stuff and stop craving it, if they are like me.

      There's a lot of great things about America but our diet is not one of them. Very embarrassing. I think RUclips will help spread the word, and media like it. I wish you the best in Thaliand.

      Thomas Sawyer That does not make any sense, if I reduce my carb intake and keep my protein high my bodyfat drops. I do it time and time again for my contest.

    Over a year after having a baby and since I always try to stay thin now I have anemia.
    Low hemoglobin, low iron, low magnesium, etc. I have no overweight , nor cholesterol or high blood pressure, none of that thankfully, but I wonder if a diet like this would help me with my nutritional deficits or if it would exacerbate them...
    I also suffer from crippling migraines :/

    • @jamiey5779
      @jamiey5779 9 лет назад +2

      komoriaimi My Aunt had anemia problems for most of her life she had to have blood transfusion usually after having children. By her mid 40's they diagnosed her with celiacs disease which was the course of most of her problems. You can get plenty of Iron and magnesium from green vegetables it's important to eat plenty of greens on a vegan diet.

      I have plans of eating lots of spinach among other things. Although I do eat a lot of vegetables but not enough of the super green leafy ones I guess.

    • @jamiey5779

      komoriaimi I use frozen kale and spinach and throw the frozen blocks into sources an easy way of getting more greens in. Kale is one of the most mineral dense greens.

      komoriaimi It's my two month plantaversary today...haha...but for the first time in years I am not anemic, I was sort of surprised but so happy! So for me this has worked.
      I've also lost 36 pounds in the last two months, before that I'd been stuck for two years at the same weight and couldn't lose it! I was practically starving myself, now I'm eating cereal, bread, potatoes...never hungry and am feeling a lot better! Hope you find this works for you too.

    Hello, do you guys think ill still loose weight if I'm eating over 3000 calories a day? If I DONT Im hungry. What do I do??

    • @gunjanverma3637
      @gunjanverma3637 8 лет назад

      +LaurensDesigns Yes you will, when you're eating a high carb low fat vegan diet, there's no need to stress over calories. It is the calories coming from fats that make people over weight, and not carbohydrates. You can even have 4000 cals if you're hungry enough as long as those cals are coming from potatoes, rice, pasta, fruits, veggies, legumes/beans, etc and with limited oils. Good luck!

    • @gunjanverma3637
      @gunjanverma3637 8 лет назад

      Just make sure you don't eat over the point of satisfaction, even if it's just carbs because many people report weight gain if they do that. I's fine to eat 3000 calories if you are really hungry for them and feel unsatisfied, or tired or something without them, but I don't think it's okay to eat 3000 calories for weight loss if you felt fine eating 2500 as well but just decided to over eat...

    • @CIays
      @CIays 7 лет назад +4

      You cant eat 4000 calories and still lose weight...

    • @gunjanverma3637
      @gunjanverma3637 7 лет назад +1

      ***** I don't know Lauren's current weight but if she is morbidly obese, or she is very very active, it makes sense that she doesn't feel satiated unless consuming 3000+ cals. She could also be a lot taller than an average woman. So as long as she is only eating to the point of satisfaction (which is different for everyone) and low in fats and vegan, she will see weight loss results.

      I will say the last 5-25 lbs is significantly harder. If you’re very overweight and make minor healthy changes weight will slide off. As you get toward the lower end of the spectrum it becomes harder and harder.
