I have raised 4 childern of my own and 2 step children through 15 yrs of marriage. I am separated but I love those children just as much as my own. Not one parent on that stage hugged or said they love their step children. All children deserve a safe, loving and happy home to feel safe! I never down talk their father because it only harms my children. Parents listen to your children and most of all DON'T make your problems their problems ✝️

You have to treat them as your own.. love them for who they are.. and respect the boundaries of what they have been through ❤️ my kids are now 23, 21, 19, 18 and 15.. and I defend and love everyone of them the same!! They were 9, 7, 5, 4 and 15 months when we became blended. After all these years of marriage and court battles I wouldn't change one thing!! It has made us stronger and more vigilant as a family!! It's not always perfect and we will always have issues, but we know that we have each other to lean on ♥️ and that is priceless!! My kids are my husband's and his are mine!! Simple and easy.. love conquers all.. if adults can put their egos aside and just give love it would make all of these issues easier to get through. Hope these families figured it out. And realized happiness is way better than being right...

I think he opened the door. He was asked to provide examples of what little things he gets in trouble for, and he used drinking the hotel soda as an example. Step-mom is allowed to defend the accusation and explain why he wasn't allowed to do what he did. And before anyone says he shouldn't get in trouble for wetting the bed...if you have something that is a known issue, it is your responsibility to try to mitigate that issue. If he willfully ignored the solution to that issue because he wanted to drink a soda, well that's a problem and he absolutely should receive a consequence for it.

Matt's issues sound like a mix of turmoil in the home, inability to cope, childhood trauma of some sort - possibly s**ual in nature, as bed wetting is a common sign. In this video he's also a growing boy so it could be a bladder growth issue, which is more common than people mention because it embarrasses the poor little guys.
Counselors are not trained to get to the root of issues this severe and deep as Matt's. The stepmom keeps saying they went to countless counselors - that boy needed a psychotherapist and child psychologist on board asap to help him heal and move forward.
I hope he made it through to adulthood and is happy, healthy.. Does anyone know how he ended up?
The step daughters are typical reactionary. Dad is barely home. Birth mother not in the picture. So abandonment issues. Younger of the two is also feeling replaced as the baby. Both envious of new siblings as step mom shows favoritism. Could read it a mile away. Hope they all turned out okay too.
Finally the last young man.. I hope he got his education and is doing well. I applaud him for standing up for his mother.

To be fair I started watching horror movies at a very early age and I don’t know if it really effected me in that way. I acted out due to anger and frustration from the household I grew up in. I was suppressed a lot but it seems to me this kid may have too much say, just assuming of course. He bulldozes step mom and dad.

    • @scottburton4479

It does seem as well though the daughter is involving herself when she shouldn’t. It’s not fair to the kid, let mom and dad handle, you can have your opinions on the kid but to berate him from all sides maybe part of the issue as well. I’m curious whether they ever recognize the accomplishments or improvements?

it might seem that these kids are being defiant, but really what is happening is that they're having reactions to certain conversation topics. We don't see the way the adults in their lives interact with them behind closed doors. We only see what the parents allow us to see and hear towards their children in public. Could be a whole Nother ball game.

Heck, according to the data won't last more than 7 years considering over 50% of marriages in the U.S. end on average in 7 years. The day someone tells me to make my child a ward of the state to keep them around, is the day I'll catch a case for throwing them out my door like literal trash 😂.

Poor Matt. He must feel trapped. How dare they say on national television that he wets the bed, as if that is another supposed bad thing that he does. Bedwetting is often complex. It could be a kidney or bladder problem, or because of something psychological, like being mistreated. I knew a man who wet the bed, because it was related to his epilepsy. As for the 17 year old at the end, who said his stepdad beat his mother; his claims were completely swept aside, and the so called counsellor suggested that he move out. Where's he going to live at that age ?

As is often the case, there's plenty of responsibility to be shared in this situation. Children, including 14-year-olds who are still kids, respond to their environments. Everyone involved would benefit from receiving proper support, self-reflection, and embark on a healing journey.

17:00 The problem with these kids is their PARENTS. Especially the two girls 13 and 15. My parents would never tolerate ANY of the crap those two girls do. The stepmother enables them to act like that, and the father doesn't seem to care at all. I can't imagine how they'll turn out as adults.

CHILDREN NEED TO BE HEARD!!!! And i say children, not kids, because they could be any age and still want to be with their parents!(in most cases atleast) I see the paternal parents dismissing and dumping their children on their new spouses and blaming misbehavior and bad parenting on their ex. Like how the 1st and 2nd guest family did. Why could'nt Matthew call his mom? Why is Nancy so angry? THEY ARE NOT BEING HEARD AND FEEL LIKE THEY'RE UNLOVED, UNWANTED AND ARE ACTING OUT CAUSE OF IT! I hope Matthew, Nancy and her sister find happiness and their own tribe in the future.

I am in my 40s and single. I will not date a man who has kids. Because you never know how psycho their kid might be. I have gone to great lengths to make sure I don’t have any of my own kids to take care of. And I damn sure I’m not taking care of anybody else’s kids. A lot of people don’t raise her kids with discipline and manners and proper behavior, and relationships are hard enough without having to also deal with somebody’s nutcase child. I know that I am cutting my dating pool in probably more than a half by refusing to date a man with kids, but oh well. I don’t care I will not put up with this kind of crap.
