- A video review of sorts of my Oberheim DPX-1. Feel free to use this video for your education to synthesizers, particularly early samplers/sample players.
Background music is a cover of "Enjoy the Silence" (© Depeche Mode) using strictly Prophet 2000 samples recorded from this module.
Back in 2001 when I visited an electronics shop to get repairs done on my own oldest synthesizer, an ARP Axxe Mk II that I no longer own, I had the option of getting this module. It was just sitting in the shop aching to be taken (for a reasonable fee). The reason I didn’t is that I thought so little of it for not having its own audio interface. I probably should’ve grabbed it while I had the chance and learned to enjoy it later on.
hello where can i listed the background track made with the dpx? please
Does anyone know where I can either get the 8 output expander for it, or know enough about the circuit ---- if there's no unique multiplexing chips or anything ---- to make one for it?
This is not a synthesizer. It is a sampler.
Cool overview, thank you. Have you ever compared the sound with an e2 ?
Unfortunately, I do not have the budget for an Emulator II, so I therefore cannot compare the playback quality personally. Thanks for watching, though!
Thank you, buying an emu 2 is not only expensive to buy these days but you have to ensure to catch a good one and make a service.
I'm a lucky owner of 2 emus e2 with several customizations (screen, sd card reader..)
I think the oberheim is "there" (maybe 80 % sonically according to some people). I wish you can find an emu 2 one day at a great price /condition!
@@PythonBluecan’t afford one? what are you doing with all the money you make from RUclips? 🤨
Hi. Can it convert E2 floppy to Emax floppy format? 😁
What is meaty 😝
Depeche mode 😎👍👍👍
