    IF you are awaiting the delivery of your new window for the RV place to fix, know this. One the windows are not really that expensive. The video says 200. My window is from Lippert, and the whole thing that goes inside the hole is only 175 bucks. LIpper makes a whole lot of every single RV including axles and safety windows apparently.
    Install is about an hour, so I'll be into it from my dealer at around 350 to 400 total. But, shipping is almost as much here in 2023 the tech told me. Since it is watertight I'm putting the lexan//polycarbonate as there is a solid metal surround inside and the outside waterproofing is intact. I'm cutting and using my dremel to do the curves in the "plastic" window for my temp fix. AND, then I'm using the clear waterproof caulk to install the window giving it a waterproofing. Since the whole window including frame will be replaced it doesn't matter. I'll also buy the tinting film to make it tinted so should get a similar result to this video but waterproof with a very slight improvement in protective aspects. If someone wants in even the windows ain't stopping them. It will take 6 weeks minimum my dealer said to get the product in and he ordered it while I was there. He indicated most of their production is for new manufacturer installs...so they don't put a priority on this kind of thing is all he can figure. The piece of "plastic" mine is "optix" from Lowes in a 30 by 28 size is 24 bucks at Lowes. the opening is 30X18 inches pretty standard. Home Depot must make them out of gold as it is substantially more expensive.

    Thanks, but you said you had to get the plexiglass inside the lip which is smaller than the piece you cut. . Looks like you weren't able to do that so just stuck it on and taped it? Is that right, any tips for squeezing it into the lip? Thanks again.

    • @maxyourjourney
      @maxyourjourney  Год назад

      I cut it and it was the perfect fit but not for the lip, it just matched up inside right to the lip perfectly. So I figured it would be good for a week, sealed it tight with duct tape. Since it was kinda pushed inside the window leaks from the top wasn't a issue at all it hits the glass drops and drains out. Tip find something to strap the plexiglass to its brittle it will break so make it a little wider the tape can cover the edges and chips. The replacement is like $200 and is a super easy fix.

    Why not fit it right and put the glass in where its susposed to go

    • @maxyourjourney
      @maxyourjourney  Год назад +1

      These windows are different in how they are put together. So the lip it sits in makes it extremely impossible to fit the plexiglass in. But it's a easy fix once you order the new one. Swap the whole window.

    Wouldn’t the plexiglass shatter when bouncing around on the road?

    • @maxyourjourney
      @maxyourjourney  Год назад +2

      No because it is completely snug like the glass was, it is really tough. The hardest part was actually cutting the edges it chips alot. Just a temp fix and handled 3 days later.
