I’ve been studying a lot of Eckhart Tolle’s teachings regarding being present and practicing mindfulness so it was music to my ears to hear such similar teachings coming from an LDS perspective. Thank you.

Timeless wisdom incorporated with church language. Perfect for the target audience, who would hesitate to listen to voices from outside the church. This stuff can be so helpful!

Thomas Wirthlin McConkie has become one of my mentors. We've never met, but his story and teachings have helped me so much. I signed up for the course. Can't wait to get started.

I have had the opportunity to listen to and meet and walk and talk with Thomas, when I was around him he seemed to be very peaceful, kind, thoughtful, and I loved the conversations we had. He made me want to be a better person and live a better life. Thanks Thomas for sharing your experience and knowledge.

Thankyou Tim and Aubrey, you bring many blessings into the lives of seekers of God's healing. Thank you Thomas for your work, faith and love for God. Your grandfather's "come what may and love it" has helped me keep believing and trusting. Loving the course.

I felt called to the course...am so excited about discovering my wounds and learning how to submit to the Holy Ghost's healing rather than resist. For what has my soul hungered? Exactly this. Thank you, eternally.

At 33:26 It has always amazed me how often simple ideas and descriptions of perspectives and paradigms can affect profound change almost immediately just by being spoken. While there are many "practices" that we must nourish potentially forever to exercise the right mental and emotional and spiritual muscles, still it is amazing that so many times just hearing a concept can lead us to quickly improve our behaviors and more effectively solve our problems. I think sometimes this is why we keep looking for more epiphanies when after the epiphany and its initial positive effects it may instead be time to roll up our sleeves and start exercising and practicing :)

At approx 26:37 it strikes me as a wonderful mental framework to use while going through Step 4 of the 12 steps, and come back to it over and over inventorying your experiences and temptations.

This is a very good interview. I have spent a lot of time learning about spirituality and I basically came to the same conclusion and belief he did just through different means. The only thing I disagree slightly, unless maybe I misunderstood. I don't believe we should be teaching people to put a natural man aside. It is a big problem I see among religious people when they treat a natural man in them as the enemy. This results in so many subconscious fears of thoughts and feelings that people start run away from it and bottle it up instead of embracing it. We should teach that a natural man can be overcome only by embracing and showing compassion to it. There is a research done on self-compassion that shows once a person embraces their feelings they have and show compassion to their own vulnerability, they achieve a state when a change in them is possible. Unfortunately, this is not taught in church or any other religions that I know of. I hope it will change soon.

I think it was an encouragement from Neal A Maxwell. He said it doesn't matter who says it, it does matters that it is true. Which does challenge the control and safety energy centres but the ego can rest when it comes from God.

How do I now make this work. If I would have heard this 3 or 4 years ago at the start of my faith transition [crisis] it would have really helped me. This seems very much like "don't throw the baby out with the bath water." Nuance Mormonism. Cafeteria Mormonism. This has the feel of Terryl + Fiona Givens - Patrick Mason - Even David Ostler - What do i mean by invoking their names - they are re-defining Mormonism to make it more paletible for those that discover the messiness and need a more nuance view. That need to not be so fundamental or orthodoxy / orthopraxy. The big BIG elephant in the room with that is it is NOT the message sent from the top. Full stop. The message from the Q15 at GC and face to face meeting is not nuance - big tent - mormonism. It is not the message that filters down to stake meetings or weekly meetings. It is not the messages of fast meetings or sunday school classes. I don't think I can put the toothpaste back in the tube. I might even make the point I don't think TM has put the toothpaste back in the tube. Ask TM about his fundamental orthopraxy? Tithing? Garment? Temple? Weekly meetings? Scripture Literalism [bible, BoM, BoA]? TM certainly does have a very calm zen mindset and outlook but you hosts are walking him very close to the mormon line that he can come across as still in the boat same as the rank and file member. I might delete this later but for now ---- I'll let this fly.
