  • I have went back to Comic Collector (CLZ) as my primary Database app to track my collection! I know I'm back & forth...but let me tell ya why.
    --------
After more than four decades collecting and reading comicbooks and related pop culture (TV, movies, video games, etc) as of 2022 I am sharing reviews/overviews of my collection. The plan is at least one new video every Monday!

The other two videos I made dealing with Comicbook Databases:
    Track & Catalog a Comic Collection: ruclips.net/video/9pGn8x2ZHYs/видео.html
CLZ Comic Collector vs ComicBase: ruclips.net/video/DyanIuEtg-E/видео.html

It is truly a great app I love how it keeps my collection so organized I've tried other apps but they cant compare

Yes I finally had to just admit/realize that it IS the better & easier way to track a collection!

Interesting. I use my phone and iPad, so CLZ REALLY is convenient, which I’ve stated before. I know you have history with both companies. I do like how you can look at all the covers in CLZ, which may be a common feature, but that is powerful (especially for many Dell / Gold Key where issue numbers aren’t on the covers).

It was hard for me to admit to myself I was wrong in the other video....wrong in the sense that CLZ really is the better deal! As I said I LIKE Pete Bickford (ComicBase's author) a LOT and he is very honest, trustworthy and reliable while the other guy has a spotty history in that regard. But I have to be honest and say that for most people (myself included) CLZ is just the better and MUCH more user friendly software. Hopefully Alwin Hoogerdijk over at CLZ will continue with the great updates and development (and maybe repair that bad history some people have with his past business practices). For the record I've never had any problems with Alwin but he burned a LOT of bridges when he killed the Lifetime Licenses and closed the old forums down.

The CLZ desktop software, do you have issues with no cover images updating from the moble app sync?

I haven't but I use my own scans through the desktop app. Are you going the other way around or?

Thanks for the update, Larry and for your honest opinion. Changing your mind when you have new information isn’t something to feel bad about. Shows your intelligence.
I do have a question though, do you know if there’s any difference in the web version versus the downloaded version of CLZ (beyond the obvious web/pc part)? I’m looking at both to decide which to get and going off of your last video about CLZ’s history, I’m considering the web version with the assumption of longer support. But I can’t tell what the differences between the two are. Any insight from you or anyone else is appreciated.
    Thanks again. Love your shelf.

There are a LOT of differences. Not sure those differences would be important to you though. Of course the desktop version gives you the most control. You should absolutely trial BOTH before paying any money. Both keep getting better and so far they seem to be updating BOTH versions frequently. So maybe I was wrong about future support on the PC version?

    Great video, Larry!
I've recently been checking out the different database services, so this couldn't have come at a better time.
I have an off-topic question: How do you avoid neck strain while reading for long periods?
Reading some of these chonky books really starts to wear on me after a while and I have to take a break.
    All the best

I usually read Omnis in bed.....laying on my stomach with the book flat on the bed. Sometimes my arm gets tired but usually no neck strain
