If you were out busking & you played what you played in this video, you would bring joy to peoples lives, mate. FAB!!! 😀
And make $$$
You have a gift Mr Simpson, it's all in your kind Heart and Soul.. Never change...
It's getting to the point where you won't need a 100 watt marshall anymore, great demo as always.
Theres always a place for 100 watts. :)
I have the original. The bigger one and the Cube 2 in Red. I did a gig at a wedding last Saturday. It was a fairly large venue. Drummer, Bass and Acoustic Electric. I played my Tele straight into the Boss no pedals. No mic. The thing just killed it. Also ran my vocal mic through it. The vocals were slightly over powered but, still in the mix. The guy on acoustic was running his vocal, guitar and the kick drum through the Bose 32 with the big sub. So there was some volume. Guitar wise it has zero issues staying with a live drummer. Love it. Thinking about a second one to slave to it with the I link cable.
Dave, as always, great guitar playing, particularly the acoustic piece.
Nice video. Kind regards from America!
What a beautiful soul you are. Thank you. Best review. Wonderfully sensitive musicianship and creativity. Hope the murky waters settle so you may offer your music to the outside world, it's in dire need of softness and harmony. Blessings.
Loving the ambience and strat tones brother 🎉
I love Dave's reviews on gear, his style of making them is just unique
You just keep raising the bar with these intros, Genius.
First of all, your reviews are always helpfull and kinda come from your heart. I got this lovely amp 6 month ago, absolutely love it. Use it as everything you think, playing guitar, setar, vocal, movie, music... . It is realy PA system.
Dave this was a great demo of this amp! You played awesome also bro!
Loving the strat tones
Dave,
The first thing I noticed was the clean tone. Most of those portables only do the fuzzbox mode. They sound like there's a Big Muff on all the time. I thought they were all wretched until now.
Some of my friends want me to come and busk with them. I've been hesitant to go because I didn't want to sound awful, with the bridge pickup on all the time, pounding as hard as I can, and hearing nothing but germanium transistor fuzz like it's 1968. It looks like this rig is the answer. We could even make a live mix on the MacBook and Logic, and not only record, but patch the input monitor through one of these, and get a very respectable live mix. My only possible doubt about this is if we could get a bass sound that wasn't flubby or farty. Logic probably has enough compression and EQ to deal with this.
Another thing I love to do is to pair up the Tweed Princeton with another very clean amp that has a strong mid scoop and plenty of brightness. This makes for a very 3 dimensional guitar tone, and sounds bigger without being louder. I call this the "Sparkler and Growler" setup. Think Keith Richards with the Tweed Twin and the Ampeg V22, only nowhere near as loud.
From what I can see from your demo, this is very much of a thing that's worth looking into. I'm gonna have to go and sort one out.
Thanks for the demo. It was first rate. You're a hell of a good player, and my guess is you're one of the good guys.
Hats off and
CHEERS!
That intro was hypnotically beautiful...
I swear you cost me money when I watch your videos, I will never learn, I will never be able to play anything like you, I recon when I watch you I instantly think it’s the gear you play, but honestly it’s all you ! Fantastic video Dave, thank you.
Actually that's why i stopped chasing gear like years ago..
I only focused on playing..just bought two pieces of gear the last 5 years..
Dave, thank you very much for the heavenly good content ❤ I think a part two of an acoustic guitar through this amp would be right😉
I think it should be called the Busk Katana!
I discovered you on a pedal show at Anderton's Music, boy I am glad!!!Fantastic player and advice to us.
Wow awesome dave . Your such an inspiration to me to ..I also suffer from mental health issues to .I think guitar playing brings out the best in us .x keep up the amazing tunes to . Loved the acoustic session to ❤
Great playing as always. Cool Amp. Looking forward to a Video with that Dave Murray Strat in the left.
Love your playing across the board man!
I don’t know if you’ll ever see this comment/request with it being an older video. Having recently found your channel I’ve become an instant fan. Your honest reviews and sheer non snobbery when it comes to gear etc very much appeals to me.
The ambient soundscapes you create in this video in particular go beyond music for me and becomes a vehicle for taking me to far off places in my mind.
Please please please do a video into how you create your sound as I’d love to follow in your footsteps and create my own sweet tones.
Col.
I have many vids on that on my channel. :)
@@thedavesimpson I’ve seen all the sound like vids. Peter green tones etc I was just after an over view as to pedals amp strings guitar tonal settings etc… if you haven’t guessed by now I’m a bit of a novice.
I’ve been playing for years but doing the usual rhythm stuff only just venturing out into the world of soloing and creation etc.. you get the gist.
Holy Hell Man !! Great Playing !! Sweet Boss Took..you must have some really Nice Neighbors for you to have those Amps so close to the Window !!! Cheers !!
Very cool … nice demo !
Thanks for this review. Considering the street cube 2 for my handpan.
Beautiful
Best busking amp I've ever owned...and befor that it was the original Cubestreet. But #2 version is just perfect for my needs.
sounds great!
Great review, be nice to see how you set the setting and each setting sounds. Hope you get ya head sorted . good book to read is the power of now.
I've just ordered mine and I can't wait! I hope it's loud enough.
Thanks Dave😎👍
😎✌👍❤🖖
Thanks Dave 😃
Sounds good.
I wish Roland / Boss would give their AC 33 an upgrade.
I hope you can get some better weather in your head soon. For what it is worth your videos improve the weather in mine so thank you! 👍👏👏👏😁😉
Wonderful acoustic guitar. You should do it more often, Dave.
Very good 🎉
Had a cube 60w
For 5 years
It only went for a marshall 1/2 stack.
Dave the voodoo was
Coming through mate.
Perfect....
Thankyou dave for another great video and amazing guitar playing. Am really happy you demonstrated with both electric and acoustic guitars. Your a massive inspiration dave thankyou so much buddy
Your just one of the best guitarists around at the moment, and should be doing more Brilliant thanks Dave oh and you always remind me of Rory. good luck in all you do m8 please go Busking please think you would have a blast and your voice is brill I have watched your gigs on here.
Dave, Dave, Dave! Great video even better amp from Boss/Roland. Nice review and playing my dear sir. Love your style and you got me rethinking what I want to relearn after a few decades have passed being out of touch with playing music.
How did you give us “sound in the room” sound if no mic? Great sound both instruments.
Thanks very kindly.
Cheers.
The Cube Street (original and new) is a good tool for blowing away a lot of the weird voodoo that people get into their heads about amps and speakers.
The amp is solid state and a relatively low wattage. The speakers in them are six and a bit inches. And they do the job for busking real good. The whole thing is well designed, robust, and it just works.
The relatively small speakers do you a favour by cutting all the mud.
And you can learn a lot from throwing different combinations of guitar/voice/keys through them.
Well done to Boss for improving on the original too.
Also, thanks to Dave for demoing how the new version works for him and the way he uses them.
Maybe try taking it out somewhere and just playing with no expectation of any audience and just for the joy of playing outdoors somethime Dave? Kinda zen busking. Just playing, and if anyone stops to listen they stop to listen. If they don't, they don't. You don't even have to take any money. Just play.
Only just started the video and love the tune you started with. I have just started playing the guitar (less than two weeks) and am still struggling with my first two cords 🤣
I think we’ve got another BUCKETHEAD / JEFF BECK level of talent here❤️
Omg this is amazing 😍
By the way .. I meant your playing...I've not seen the review yet... About to watch 🙏
Busking can be loads of fun....and I've made plenty of money doing it...
I've had the original street cube for years, and that new one sounds fine...
I just use backing tracks on my phone, into the line in jack, works great...
Street performing does have a few drawbacks, but if you find a good place, and people treat you good it's the most fun.,...
Nice man meditation guitar cave!
Everything in your room is black, it took me a good minute to find the amp when I first turned on the video! Lol, sounds great! 👍😎
I hear you brother, felt your brief hint at mental health. I know that’s not what the video is about but I hear ya. I’ve literally just bought this amp to consider busking again to try and get me through a real deep depression. Trying to transform it into something positive.
Come busk with me :)
P.s. I hate busking haha
I’m actually serious about the busking though man, from watching your playing we have a very similar style of like jamming and I could visualise us just playing for hours without any particular structure but just lost in the flow.
Drop me a comment if you’re interested in arranging something, I’m a welcoming and friendly dude, would look after you haha 🤣
Dear Sir Mr Dave,
You’re a dashed good saleshumanperson.
I’ll never busk, but that sounds great and I’m sure most people could find a use for it (er … especially if they play guitar). I can’t think of anything it doesn’t do.
thanks,
Richard
Love the Boss Cubes this one is best yet!🙂
I use my Rowland Micro Cube in the house for practice Never going busking as I don't want to cause a public order incident. Nice amp but strictly for those with talent . Play on brother.
John.
Very funny made me laugh.
I had a micro it was very loud....
Let's start a band.
One night only....folks
TONE DEF...
Inc their NUMBER 1 miss
you'll wish you'd stayed at home...
Ha Ha...
Hey Dave you should hook up both at the same time playing each with a different amp
Might have to get one darn it Dave 😊
"A mere street fighter like you has no chance to win... or even knock me off my feet!" That should be the quote for the upcoming street 1 v street 2 shootout video or beat em up video to be more precise. "I've never seen a combo that intense!" Yeah, true, Boss combos are pretty great if I do say so myself.
I have an original release generation Roland Mirco Cube, in red color, and it is amazing. I wish I would have bought a Roland Cube 30 instead of the Fender G-DEC 30 I bought, but I was on a SRV and Fender kick at the time, an Fender was still acting sane, not evil, with was in 2005/2006/2007
Cool!)
Thing about Boss, aint cheap, but their gear is supported and built to last, currently smashing it with their Products
Bit of Hendrix being channeled there Dave, ta.
Looks like you were having fun Dave.... my question is..... I wonder what two of those would sound like together on the street and would you potentially get removed by the noise police??? Ps.Love the acoustic tunes, thanks Dave.....
Thank you for this great démo again !! Please what is your OD effect around @20:28 ? it's in the Boss or a pedal of your pedal board ?
I still love my Nux Mighty Air.
It’s well loud!
Daveee!! This is straight fire. I'd pay for tabs 23:00 and onwards, also fell in love with the chords at 24:10. Do you have tabs on the patreon? Cheers
@38:35 an A/B comparaison with the new Katana AIR EX would be GRREEEEEAAT ! for the home users who don't need an all-in-one battery device ....
Hey, thanks for review, got a question here. Been using old Roland Street Cube forever, and always on JC Clean channel. Is that one gone now since Boss took over?
Great review..an very tempted to buy... Mainly for vocals an guitar... Do you recommend a microphone? Im planning on using it for sound therapy by using vocal toning, buffalo drumming an rattles? ✌️
I’m not sure if that’ll work but I’m not sure. Sorry.
Wowewww
Oh yes. This is why i play. This sound is dear to me.
Охереть ты изменился! ща только 5 минут назад, твое видео 10 летней давности посмотрел😂
Really amazing. Which pedal do you use for such a magical sustain?
Boss ds2.
What were you going line out into? Whole setup sounds immense
My camera.
I love mine
What mixer could feed into mic channel? To enable more than one?
Hi Dave, thanks for the great vid! would this amp be the correct amp for a busking solo singer singing to backing tracks, such as Elvis? if yes , how would it compare to the Cube Street EX? any help will be greatly appreciated thanks!
It would be the one i’d recomend for busking.
@@thedavesimpson Hi Dave what do you think of the new EV everse 12 battery PA against the JBL eon1 mk2 or the Boss Cube Street 2? for singing to backing tracks outdoors, can I ask your thoughts on these, thanks😊
Hello Dave 😊a question if I may, I recently bought a katana artist mk1 and the bass is boomy or flubby no matter what I do🤔I have reset it to factory settings and still seems blah. Any suggestions or do you find the same on yours thanks Stephen. Keep the videos going
I never turn the bass up. I always have it off.
@@thedavesimpson 👍👍👍😊
how do you connect it to a laptop and hear what you are playing to record my sound and video for youtube
Say me and my wife both played little zoom pedals, G1x and B1x for example, reckon we could both plug into this? I mean with the bass through a multi effects pedal into the instrument input, my wife's guitar could go directly into the guitar input, right? This would save some headaches on PA speakers etc aha
I’m not sure about bass but the guitar would work.
@@thedavesimpson yeah that's the worry, I think maybe the duel cube bass and then either this or a dual cube LX for the guitar would work nicely, getting nostalgia as my first decent amps as a kid were new at the time Roland Cubes
Hi Dave, are you using any pedals on this? If not, what amp settings are you getting for these tones?
He says towards the end that he's got treble on zero, bass on zero and middle on full on his favourite channel which is the crunch channel. Pretty sure the rest of his playing including the acoustic is on those settings too.
@@davidmurphy4844 Cheers mate I missed that bit
@@lukejxson no problem, just watched the video and I'll try that tonight when I get home! He also said that he has the gain maxed on the crunch channel.
I got a Roland Cube Street EX (the real expensive one, unfortunately). Unknowingly when I bought it, it doesn't have a Guitar Gain knob thus no Balls ☹ I believe both your Boss Cubes have a "Balls" knob tho!
Nice playing!! Strymon pedals?
Cloudburst.
Would you recommend this unit for a solo performer to play and sing through at garden parties?
Yep
How did you change the chorus to the effect that you used at the start of the video?
I was using my pedal board.
This one or Boss Dual Cube LX guitar model? Which one would you pick?
The cube street.
Do you still have the original factory pickups on this white strat in the intro? 😱
I do yes.
Cubes for nothing and your strings for free.
Hi 😊👋
can you tell which background music is that in the begening of video please thanks
I made it on a looper. :)
Oh nice thats. Great thanks
For over $500 ummm.... can't justify. But it does sound really good.
Hello Dave
This one or the old versions?
This one. :)
@@thedavesimpson thanks
It’s still got a long way to go before it’s better than the Bose S1 Pro.
The bose isn’t a guitar/instrument amp though is it.
@@thedavesimpson yes it is. It even comes with a built in wireless transmitter for your guitar.
@@officialWWM Bose £500.
Cube £275
That leaves £ 225.
Squire super sonic strat
£160
£65 will get a strap picks
Strings..
Know were my hard earned cash would go.
Anyone here had the chance to compare the ex vs the street II? I’m debating between the two here… great video btw 😎
Did i miss the fly over view of the top panel
No. I did. :(
Dave, are you ok? Haven’t posted anything in few days?? I’m genuinely worried
I only post a vid on friday now. :)
Really on the fence about this one. Hearing a lot of people saying it sounds weak and tinny.
It definitely doesn’t.
Thank you for not mic’n it because mic’n amps is just over kill on RUclips … I’ve turned off mic’n amps video’s a lot especially when it’s a small combo amp review mic up & running thru a 4x12 … Really? How’s that a true review ?
I really like these amps But I’m staying away from amp apps.
I got rid of my boss katana 100watt combo for that reason and buying $1,000 iPhone or computers to stay up to date for my amp isn’t worth it.
So I’m looking for & going back to tube amps. I still have my Roland
( I won’t use there app either)
cube LT 10watt stereo to keep me going in meantime.
I’m eyeing the Marshall Orgin 20h because I already got an 8ohm 30watt cabinet, I’m thinking I can another 30watt cab and how nice would that sound - stereo sound oh ya!!!
Bass response with backing tracks is non existent. Otherwise great amp.
Do you give private online guitar lessons?
I struggle with heavy anxiety and depression myself and was never able to go out to get lessons. Spend the last years most of the time alone at home because of this bullshit mindfuck stuff..sadly it controlls my life completly... as you are someone who does understand this i feel i would go for it.. i play for a few years but was never able to get really that good..like go to the next step...
Greetings from germany
I got the red version a few months ago,it’s a monster,I love it
Can play for a crowd of 100pax outdoors ?🙏
@@guitaristiz they’ll all hear it for sure,if they huddle up close to you (enough room to play that is) 😜
Cost you money ?!?!?, I'm in for $10,000 US during Covid. Between Marshall heads, cabs, FX peds, Gibson Les Paul Classic, a few Epiphone Les Paul's, Roland RD-88 Keyboard, Fender Blues Jr, VI in limited yellow tolex, music stands, bass guitar/amp for the girlfriend, and I'm ordering a Roland Jupiter X this Feb -. all in all I regret nothing, I have many GTR's and other things I used to only think about. Dave 🤓 has been a great inspiration - so a big thank you to you Sir Dave of tone & clarity - Jim AR, USA
That sounds great! I wish you would get some party lights for when you’re playing. Add some atmosphere 😊. 👍☮️🌞🎸🎵🩵
