The FS-6 is great. It also costs a lot of money (which is not the same as expensive to me). It is about a quarter of the price of the amp, I see. I think you would do a lot of potential buyers a great favor and sell more Cubes when you'd test some 10-20 bucks pedals whether they work or not as an on/off switch for the looper. A large part will buy the FS-6 after a year, probably, it being more solid, but I think you'd save buyers in the beginners market the initial frustrating choice between 60 quid extra to make the looper work or buying the incomplete, looperless thing (Any which way you loop, starring Clint Eastloop)..

Just had my Roland jc-22 delivered yesterday, so I was worried that the cube lx might have been a better choice. Phew! Much better fidelity on the jc-22 (two 6.5" speakers and 30 watts) and since I bought it to play my Zoom stereo multi-effects pedal through, I don't need all the amp models, fx, reverb, etc on the cube lx.

It's listed for $399.99 here in Canada and with sales tax on top of that it's just over $450. It's sounds great but that's just too much. The Cube Street 2 lists for only $135 more (which also seems way too much) and the 6.5" vs 4" speakers alone would make that a better choice in my opinion. Still, I'm sure this fits the sweet spot for some folks.

As best I can tell, you already have tempo controls for the time-based effects and full EQ settings on the dash. Not sure how often I would need to change the type of delay, etc., though it's obviously helpful for playing backing tracks. One thing I wonder about is the best way to hook up an external modeler (like HX Stomp) if your patches are mono. I suppose I could just run two cables than then have a "dual mono" output? It's confusing because their "flat" setting is named "stereo", so I don't want to hook up one cable and have just the left speaker playing! Documentation isn't really clear if it sums to stereo or not with just one cable plugged in. Anyone know?
Not sure about it myself, was thinking of getting one to for my multi effects pedal. I have heard just putting the amp selector on the Jc clean sounds just as good though so might just do that.
I’m losing my mind over the Dual Cube LX. It’s so perfect for my very specific use of taking my rig with me when I work all over. The fact that they’ve designed it to allow modellers to plug into it is ideal, as I use amp modellers off of my laptop a lot. Amazing work Roland/Boss.
@@jayytoday6596 I think so! The amplifier has a setting designed for modellers, so if you have a USB recording interface you can plug in the output where you would normally a guitar and use it like a powered speaker. Or if you have a multi-effects pedal like a Boss GT-1 you can plug that in and use the amplifier like a speaker? Hope that helps?
Looks and sounds very nice, but being a smaller practise amp and not including the footswitch, it feels quite a bit overpriced. For 50-100£ less it would be really interesting.

Yeah that thing is nice lads. I wish I hadn't already bought my spark, I think I like yours better. I have to have an external looper or shell out a hundred bucks for a bluetooth foot-pedal. And no stereo outs. That's a lot of features for a very modest price.
I have a Roland Street Cube, a great little amp for practice/busking. It has most of the features of this version, except not the bluetooth, etc. stuff. The amp models are really good. Pleased they've got drums in the bass amp. Vox appear to have stopped making their mini practice amps with drums. These can work as a practice amp and performing amp as well. Small size is going to be a benefit for many living in small spaces cities.
I was not a cube fan though i liked the first micro cube more than the other. This kinda looks like spark competition. Id say with this sorta thing id have to try it. Same reason i dont have the spark.
Yeah. Spark seems amazing and does a whole lot more than these. Spark goes on the internet and finds music an lyrics and feeds your dog, wakes you up in the morning, makes excuses to your wife when your late getting home and teaches your kids trig and calculus. It's just too much to be practical. Most of the Spark's functions will never be used. When the new wears off, they will sit on shelves while people try "the next big thing". These Boss amps are more usable to the average person. Just my opinion based on observations.
@@johnpearson4899 most of the Spark features are actually part of the app and streamed to the amp over Bluetooth audio. There's often better ways to do the same thing (and which work with any Bluetooth capable amp). I agree that half these features are also impractical. I got a few mic's with XLR output and i don't think i can put one of these into the amp since there is no xlr to be found on it. This is fine, i got some none xlr ones too but i am really wondering if he just switched the cable or if there is any way to plug in a mic and use this at the same time as a guitar? Do i need to use the recording live streaming thing for this or can my voice come out of the amp at the same time as the mic sound? Hope this is clear enough.

Not sure about it myself, was thinking of getting one to for my multi effects pedal. I have heard just putting the amp selector on the Jc clean sounds just as good though so might just do that.
loved the Captain laying down the bass grooves! And Pete was pretty good on the guitar :)
The Captain layin' it down on the bass!
I’m losing my mind over the Dual Cube LX. It’s so perfect for my very specific use of taking my rig with me when I work all over.
The fact that they’ve designed it to allow modellers to plug into it is ideal, as I use amp modellers off of my laptop a lot. Amazing work Roland/Boss.
can you explain who you can use modellers with it? i'm confused. thanks
Ooh, I think I need one of these lol
Edit: yeah, I NEED one of these! As Wayne would say, "She will be mine. Oh yes." 😂
22:14 it has built in adjustable drum tracks??? ok, I am 100% getting this, reserving now, can't wait :)))
Yeah that thing is nice lads. I wish I hadn't already bought my spark, I think I like yours better. I have to have an external looper or shell out a hundred bucks for a bluetooth foot-pedal. And no stereo outs. That's a lot of features for a very modest price.
Dang, Pete, is there anything you can't play?
Peter i have looper and i donk know .......after playing amazing track.I love his playing.
LX= Likely Xpensive
Must be great when you noodle like Pete cheers guys love this little amp.
Spark Mini
Awesome, love that tele man
I've been looking for something for my Bass VI and was leaning towards an Ampeg Micro but I'm having some serious GAS over this. 👍
Looks great. Really wish they'd made it USB-rechargeable though.
I have a Roland Street Cube, a great little amp for practice/busking. It has most of the features of this version, except not the bluetooth, etc. stuff. The amp models are really good. Mine has an XLR /1/4" input on the second channel. I used it for my Michael Kelley hybrid hummer/piezo guitar, but it took a fall, and the 1/4" input broke. The XLR still works.
Somebody told me to get the Cube EX. You think that difference is worth it?
@@baoboumusicdifference guy, but personally the lack of a gain knob on the big boy EX bothers me. For that reason I go with the normal one instead of the big boy, really can't understand why they did that
@@Muzikman127 In the end I went with the normal one and it's fine for what I'm doing now. If you have a crowd of 200 people you may want a bit more power, but for small performances it's absolutely great. Thank you!
@@baoboumusic great! Played the old version a few times and I'm going to pick myself up one of these Boss ones soon I think, versatile and practical little amp!
@@baoboumusic the cube street I mean
My katana bit the dust just in time for this to come out lol
Why you need the footswitch to activate the looper? Cashgrab.
Either include it or make it work without.
Adding atleast 50 to 80 to the price. Bluetooth is an additional 50 euro
We now need a comparison with the yamaha thr
Pleased they've got drums in the bass amp. Vox appear to have stopped making their mini practice amps with drums. These can work as a practice amp and performing amp as well. Small size is going to be a benefit for many living in small spaces cities.
Vox still shows the Mini 5 Rhythm on their website, and all three new Vox Mini Go amps also have a drum machine built in.
I thought the chorus sounded odd. 😕
I found them to be clunky and generally not work that we'll, so I quickly stopped using them.
" Number 5 is alive Stephanie!" .....for Pete I got the reference.
Cool amp makes a killer little busking amp
I bought the katana mini, hate it
No reverb, these look better
How much weight have you lost in the past year Pete?
Switched from beer to Scotch whiskey all night long...
Man, felt like I was just hanging and listening to some great jamming and back and forth - ALWAYS a pleasure my friends!!
And YES - at $250, this is a NO BRAINER for guitarists of all levels and skills, great sound that can go with you, not to mention the looper!!
BOO on not including the bluetooth capability - it's like, dang, it's so cheap nowadays, and to sell it as a separate thing that can break!??! LOL
Hey, all good - still looks AWESOME!!!!
THANKS!!
Pretty Awesome and that beginning Track almost sounded like some Keith Urban the Song Never Comin Down Now. AWESOME STUFF 👍👍🎶🎶🎸
Question: so the Katana has an acoustic preamp, but the Cube LX has an acoustic simulator. Can you run an acoustic into a Cube LX?
I feel like my chances of winning the Klon are one in a million
18:17 Stop! You guys are making me wanna buy so many Boss products lol can't wait til I can get these :)
Google tells me in 1980 the Roland Cubes were orange. I have an Ibanez amp from the same year in some purple-reddish color. Apparently black amps were out vogue.
Orange do orange!
I think the bass version is the best version! But do you get a Danish Pete as a bass player?
😂my Alexa played fart noises after Lee said Alexa play fart noises.
Is this a good amp for jam sessions?
Good demo but seems too costly for such a small amp despite having a looper which was heavily mentioned. Too bad boss.
Yup. You made my echo play the last song I had on 😂
I realy like this amp and you guys make amazing video's. I do have 1 question left. How is Pete running the mic in the beginning of the video?
I got a few mic's with XLR output and i don't think i can put one of these into the amp since there is no xlr to be found on it. This is fine, i got some none xlr ones too but i am really wondering if he just switched the cable or if there is any way to plug in a mic and use this at the same time as a guitar? Do i need to use the recording live streaming thing for this or can my voice come out of the amp at the same time as the mic sound? Hope this is clear enough.
Been looking for just this. Need em both!
I wonder how this compares to the little spark desktop amp. I bought the cream colored spark for when I travel, but I'm rather disappointed with the sound quality. I have a pair of the 100w Katana Mk II's that I run in stereo along with the GA-FC pedal and they sound great, but way to bulky to carry around on holiday.
No idea, but I prefer my THR10ii for travel use over my Spark.
Loved the (b)loopers at the end
I wonder what pickups are in Pete's guitar? That neck pickup sounds so nice.
