    Now this outboard will get you in skinny water to fish in!
    In this video I am showing my Yamaha 60hp Jet Outboard running that is paired with my G3 18CCJ forward console jet boat I use for fishing. Although I've had issues with this setup I am happy with it. It can get in some really shallow water! One thing I did not mention in the video is the speed. I get around 32 to 33 MPH with this setup and one person aboard. I have also caught some nice fish in this boat! Taking a jet boat in very skinny water is so much fun! I hope someday I can get another jet boat to play around in my local skinny water creek.

    You should look into getting some trim tabs and a Hydraulic Jack Plate, trim tabs for your porpoise issue and the Jack Plate to move your motor up and down. I use a Mod V hull and the Jack Plate made a big difference in performance.

    • @benkrause3321
      @benkrause3321 2 года назад

      Jack plates usually void warranty. A jack plate gives you set back which is a big no no on a outboard jet performance wise.

    • @dscott1972
      @dscott1972 2 года назад +3

      Jack plates don’t void warranty, not sure who told you that. I have a Mod V-hull, so not entirely a flat bottom and definitely not a tunnel. The Jack plate allows me to run different depths, but with the height adjustment and trim I get 32mph with my 60/40 Jet on my 17’ tracker with Pontoons on the back. It was an improvement of just over 4mph, plus the ability to run shallower.

    • @TNRVG
      @TNRVG  10 месяцев назад +1

      Jets eat the gas really bad. You are basically taking an outboard that is almost 50% more horsepower and keeping it at full throttle all the time (the head of an 80hp jet is 115hp). So a 90hp prop will sip the fuel in comparison to a 80hp jet. Even a 115hp prop will take less fuel as you won't be at full throttle all the time.

    • @TNRVG
      @TNRVG  Год назад

      42 is really good! My math could be wrong. The numbers online are all over the place. Yours could be as strong as a 50hp with jet foot. That could squeak out what you want in speed. All my jet boats in the past were the biggest I could afford. Just enough to hit 30mph.

    • @markmoretzfishing
      @markmoretzfishing Год назад

      I put Bennits 6/8 self leveling trim tabs a week ago to hold down the porpoising the 10/10 tabs have 30 lbs of more pressure at 90 which I should have done on gps I did hit 45mph but it started porpoising again I’m hoping a jet would still work for me 🙏
