Man... Another awesome video and awesome blade; I'm a nut for tanto. I've just sent this video to a friend of mine, who is vacationing in Japan. He bought his first nihonto, while in Kyoto, last week... an insignificant wakizashi from the late Edo. He noted that the kogai and kozuka were mismatched from the rest of the koshirae, and I noted that he was missing half of his wari-kogai. haha I think this video will help explain things. 😁👍👍

Amazing looking blades, insane to think of the history involved, from 700 years to you showing it in this video. The detail, condition, doesn't look a day old! (from the video anyways) Love these videos and the history/information you give 😁👍 (👎 for Nelson lol)

Big thanks Danny. yes, even though I handle swords rather often, it does amaze me on how the condition keeps after so many hundreds of years. Thumbs up from Nelson, or is it thumbs down! ;)

I had a look at the higher quality catalogue photos of the silver engraving & they're absolutely beautiful. Though its true that metal is easier to work with than steel, they're very intricate. Cheers for the vid, I've kinda missed these, thanks for sharing this piece 👍

Thanks Emma. I always appreciate your feedback. Tantos are a type of sword that grows on you with time. Often clients start with katanas, but in time a tanto makes the cut. ;)

These pieces are really impressive. A little short for a sword, but I think there are different definations of that.

Thanks Hannes. Yes, the tanto is a dagger and an amulet of sorts as well. It has its purpose and daimyo lords loved to collect the finest ones. Which is one main reason it survived this long.

Some kid needs to work on that website of youse. A lot.
The design is nice, but it is not normal that I have to download a 354 pages Pdf file weighing +250 mb just to check out a couple of blades once in a while. It doesn't compute at all and doesn't really make sense either...
Maybe it would have in the context of 2003 desktop computing with very expensive dialup connections, but unless your customer base is the third world, it doesn't anymore.
