    Brick Stick House, the Southern rock legends, had humble beginnings. The original seven members met in the fall of 1971 when they were all enrolled in the same shop class at Cherokee High School. Druzzy Butler was carving out the guitar that would soon be known worldwide as 'Black Alice.' The other boys took notice, and they quickly bonded over their shared love of what they called 'Branch Music.' Within a week, they formed their band.
    Afternoons and weekends were spent jamming, and the boys began to believe they had something special. As luck would have it, 'Wandering' Slim Berry was passing by their practice shack one evening after one of his tires blew out (but that's a story for another time). Curious about the noise, Slim investigated and was amazed by what he found-a group of young boys playing handmade instruments and sounding exceptionally good. Slim spent the night at the boys' shack and promised to call his old record company to put in a good word for the band.
    A year later, Slim remembered to make that phone call, and executives from the company sought out the old shack. Since it was a Saturday, the boys were there playing song after song. After several rounds of handshakes, the boys were signed to Swing-A-Phone Records, and within a few months, they found themselves in the recording studio. The resulting album, 'Happy Holler,' was well-received, and the group went on to record eight more albums before a series of tragedies struck.
    The band continued to tour, but almost every year brought a freak accident, prison time, or an odd disappearance, leading to the departure of nearly all the original members. As of 2024, the original bassist, Olaf 'The Hammer' Magnusson (no relation to the former king of Norway), is the last surviving original member. He still performs under the original name, and the band remains a staple on the Summer Legacy Circuit.

      @@Swing-A-PhoneRecords-gm7fu I'm an amateur producer and back in the 80s I could make great demos for bands with my tascam 388 multitracker and my 24 channel carvin board. And since I was only limited to eight tracks, I would mix in mono, it worked out great every time!

      This song isn’t mixed in mono. The guitars are panned, it’s more noticeable in the solos. The piano, hi hat and snare are panned too and I can hear stereo reverb on the vocals.

      @@dans5529 great job! You are a fine audio engineer! I learned on a tascam 4 track cassette portastudio! So can you please tell me, were Hendrix's first albums mixed in mono?

    • @dans5529
      @dans5529 2 месяца назад

      @@markvigil8667 That's cool! I've actually been thinking about picking up a Tascam Portastudio at some point. I've mostly worked with digital recording, but I love the simplicity and imperfections that come with tape. Do you still ever use a Portastudio?
      Also, it's funny that you mentioned Hendrix. He's my favourite artist ever. I believe Are You Experienced was originally released in mono, but was later remixed and released in stereo. The stereo versions are the most common versions of those songs, but I think you could find both the mono and stereo versions on RUclips to compare them if you were interested. I think it was a similar story for Axis: Bold as Love.
      Are You Experienced sounds quite good in mono, but the stereo versions of Axis are much better than the mono versions in my opinion. He used a lot of wild stereo panning on those songs and that really adds to the psychedelic experience, especially when listening on a good pair of headphones.

    saw BSH on their "open wounds tour" of 86'. by then the whole original meaning of the band was gone. They sounded awful, only opting for playing "the new stuff" which was sort of in the stylings of funk, new-wave and proto-hiphop. After leaving that night, my buddy and i went to taco bell and got mexican pizzas. good times!

    At first hearing, this made me think of Frank Zappa's "Funky Nothingness", but then FZ was himself a pioneer in computer-assisted creativity... or perhaps Frank himself was fiddling with the electrons from where he is now. Somebody should ask Pamela 'Goodheart' Zarubica.

    • @jacesanchez6202

      Funky nothingness is just the latest release from the family and although not Frank approved...is was however Gail Zappa approved before her death, furthermore...it is unrealistic to use the latest Zappa release to compare with, after all the man had over 100 albums at the time of his death...so many more Frank albums,and I would never ever compare Frank or his music to anyone else...his genre is his genre the he and only he created himself!... hardcore Zappa fan here!😮😊

    I'm confused. Was this an actual band? I mean. I know there's bands I never heard of, but what gives here? Somebody says "AI generated" music, and if that's the case, that's just a bit unnerving. Ain't it?

      This is not an actual band, nothing on my channel is 'real'. I've just been testing a.i. to see what it is capable of. I wrote the lyrics but a.i. provided the music and the voices.
