He sounds very much like his father. His dad was a great writer. I’ve read most of his novels, many about rich people who get away with murder. He wrote a thinly veiled book about the Martha Moxley murder, and about the Kennedy relation that murdered her. His Vanity Fair articles were fantastic. I read them all. He was sitting in almost the front row of the OJ trial and the camera caught his shocked expression. His jaw literally hit the ground. I’d love to read this book.

I was a Private Duty Nurse to Griffin Dunnes mother, Ellen Dunne, (Lenny) at her sprawling home in Nogales, AZ. She was a sweet but very sophisticated lady even with MS that kept her bedbound. I met Griffin, his then wife Carey Lowel, Dominique & Alex Dunne. I would go to their home from mine in Tucson, AZ. & spend the week with staff relief on weekends. What happened to Dominique at the hands of John Patrick Maura was brutal & that trial was HORRIFIC. That murderous slob actually called Ellen twice that I remember to terrorize her! Last I knew he was a chef at Smith Ranch Homes in CA. His hands that choked her to death now feed people!!! It gags me to consider that!!!!

I took my sister. During the show, I went downstairs at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion to the bar and restrooms. Hanging out down there was Tom Cruise with Nicole Kidman, Quentin Tarantino talking with Tim Roth, Jeff Goldblum (who ironically was my acting teacher at Playhouse West) and Griffin Dunne. After talking with Jeff, I went up and spent 5 minutes talking with Griffin, who was standing alone. I told him how I loved AFTER HOURS and we had a good time conversing. A really great guy. I told him i was an actor and that hopefully we would work together some day. He answered that it was such a small town that it was bound to happen. Fast forward to 2024. We haven't worked together yet. What i do have is a wonderful memory of having the opportunity to talk with him a bit and realize he's as wonderful in person as I had hoped. Good. Just because the family was laughing at lunch doesn’t mean they didn’t care about Dominique or didn’t grieve. I think most families who lose a loved one go through that laughing/crying phase, especially when the family comes together. I know I did when my mother died. My sister and I laughed and cried as we recalled funny family times and stories. And at her wake we did the same with her friends, old neighbours, and extended family.

Clarkson is a terrible interviewer and yet has her own talk show? She missed so many opportunities to have an interesting dialogue with this wonderful man and all she could say was , “yeah”. I really recommend, ‘Dominick Dunne’s, Power, Privilege and Justice’ tv show and books. The Dunne family have such charisma and talent. It was such a tragedy to loose Dominique Dunne at such a young age. She did an episode of ‘Hill street Blues’ where you can see bruises on her neck and face. That’s not make up, they are real bruises that her boyfriend gave her a few days before taping the episode. It’s true when they say, it’s the most dangerous time for a victim, is when they are leaving their abuser.

@@Mmm-km8yv No, of course I don't want her to interrupt. Don't be silly. But if her job title is 'talk show host' I do want her to be able to hold an intelligent and interesting conversation. I do want her to be able to ask curious follow up questions and engage the guest.. enrich the conversation. She's not capable.

It wasn't just a tragic death she was brutally murdered and the stupid judge and jury let him get by with either involuntary or voluntary manslaughter I don't remember which he was sentenced to 4 years he served 2 he strangled this girl with his bare hands and served 2 freaking years in prison got released and got a Job as head chef at a popular Restaurant he had a history of abuse one of his ex's testified he almost killed her but the judge later told the jury to disregard it he not onlt strangled her to the point her eyes were bulging out he carried her by the throat to the neighbors yard the attacked happened on Halloween Eve of 1982 she was on life support till sometime in early September. Her family was outraged but they were not gonna just sit and take his release laying down they made signs that said the hands that prepared your meals tonight strangled our daughter sister friend whatever she meant to that person and they protested outside the Resturant till he was fired because the place was losing business well he moved to a different part of California and now goes by John Maura but God knows who you are and he knows what you did John Thomas Sweeney !!!!!

Griffin Dunne mentioned his Father covered among other high-profile cases, the Menendez Brothers' Murders and that members of the Dunne clan advocate for victims(rights)... would they be 'advocating' in this particular instance for Jose and Kitty Menendez shot to death by their son's Lyle and Erik or would they see the brothers as the victims lashing out in a form of self-defense after years of allegedly suffering abuse at the hands of their father aided by their mother's complicit silence? We're admonished to not _'blame the victim'_ , right? Wouldn't it be wonderful if life was always so simple ?
