Aragon, my apologies for not saying so sooner, but just wanted to let you know I really appreciate all of your videos (especially your build vids). This is the channel I always go to when starting a new class (I play most of them to varying degrees, but am still quite the novice in many). Many of your guides demonstrate a specific rotation to follow in AOE and in S/T. Those are incredibly helpful as they give me something I can practice in order to get the timing right. If you could include those rotations in each of these, it would make them even better (and as said, they're already pretty awesome). :D Thanks again for all that you do!
I play a paladin class, as a tank I dont follow a specific encounter rotation, because it will vary on the boss fight (mechanics) and going through trash (enemies). I have an AoE and ST built, both with different encounters. It's fun to know what encounters do what and will help you even more to understand your tank class: paladin, fighter or barbarian. And between all three, each one has different encounters too.
Thank you so much for always going above and beyond the call of duty for never winter. Your videos are second to none. They are always packed with information and great suggestion.
This is so helpful, thank you very much for getting to the point and talking about everything and not making assumptions how much newer tanks would know about the mechanics! Also, that progression table (not in the doc but just took a screenshot in the vid) is a game changer! Makes it so much easier to slowly online and build up towards upper limits content before touching any master stuff. Much appreciated!
This is a great guide. I agree completely about Flash Freeze. As you mentioned, if you don't get hit a lot, it doesn't proc enough due to the 10% chance, and if you are getting hit Fortified is better. Would be great to have a more consistent Combat Enchantment, but for now Fortified is probably best even for newer Tanks to cap stats and for older ones due to the aforementioned points. We were all stuck on Flash Freeze for a while, but the fix to its chance makes it quite bad now.
I have the Ultraviolet Elven Helm from MIC, still using the Abyssal Provoker chest, arms, boost and 2 rings from MDWP. I changed the defense pants to another that gives action points when you have combat advantage, I feel this helps a lot to built up daily a bit more faster. Changed my Fortitude and Dominance insignias for Courage and Evasion. With my ST loadout the defense, awareness, critical avoidance and deflect ratings are green, the first 3 their % are above 80%, just deflect is around 65-75%. I honestly don't like gear that works with certain conditions and having cooldowns, can't rely on that. It's better to have constant defensive stats. Helps more to survivability.
Was thinking I might make a 2nd toon as my Ranger is pretty much maxed out (just a few tweeks needed. Had a wee look through the gear requirements. That's alot of gear Aragon m8. Apart from the trousers, you've got 11 heavy farm requirements items (or expensive ones). I might build this with basic gear like I wear on my ranger. Stormforged. 2200 rings, wildspace bracers and boots, dragon helm, I use the 5k x2 bonus armour 1900IL, menzo 2 set, nebz trousers, and the 7500 power shirt.
Once youll never swap off 'composure 'regen class feature, now you have also changed the at will regen feat for the shielding one (what the numbers of 'bulwark' divinity reg with ?) how do you take back your yellow resource efficiently? Maybe the 'divinty pursuit' is better for single target tanking, since once you settled aggro and stamina its not in danger you have not much to do than mouse clicking attacks so you get back divinity; otherwise wih many enemies you go around while not attacking consistently, so shielding up wih 'justicar's' will give you more defensives.
perfect vid. helped me out a lot cuz you actually explain why you use and choose what you do plus a bit of alternate plans. but what is that helmet and shield you have?!?!!?!!!! i neeed that !!!!!
Any love for Harrowing Screech from the Golden Armored Griffon? I believe it's 15% reduction outgoing damage, Stun, plus increase forte, crit avoidance, and awareness by 5%. Not the best for team support I suppose, but maybe an honorable mention! :)
Nice video! I do not have a Myconid and likely never will but I am quite fond of Little White from the Rothe Valley. I have always felt he was undervalued, particularly in Underdark content. Can you elaborate a bit on why he does not make the list?
Your stamina artifact list is missing the Bloodcrystal Raven Skull. While a bit inaccessible because PVP is dead now, if they raked in a bunch of Glory during the April Fowls event some people might be surprised they can afford it. Also, there are a number of unbound ones on the AH.
Aragon I appreciate the information. It’s all very helpful for me just starting out. When a piece of gear is a higher quality (legendary, mythic) than an epic, but the item level is lower,, one would still chose the higher quality correct?
Hi and thanks for all your guides! How many hp do you lose using tiamat set instead of neck and belt with 6 cos each? Do you think Tiamat set is for sure the best choice for a tank? Thank you :)
@@Aragon- thank you, i think i’ll lose this hp to gain 8%dr… because this 8% will save your life a lot of times. After shield is gone it will activate immediately?
I would stay with the ultra violet arms, use the new shirt and pants and you can use the new head piece if you use a manticore bite bonus ring for boss fights
Good stuff. I always favour self-healing Tank Insignia rather than stuff to boost the party. Let them see to their own dps! They always stampede ahead of me and pay me no never mind, anyway, like I'm some kind of chump that ain't never was nothing to them! 😠 Healer or Tank, 10+ years I've spent running after parties! Let them stampede to their deaths like lemmings! If the Healer dies when I am Tanking, it's my fault. If the Tank dies when I am Healing, it's my fault. If the dps die, they just don't know how to play intelligently, chasing Paingiver like it actually mattered for something! Ahem... How applicable do you think all this is to a Fighter Tank? I saw your recent video, not studied in detail yet for the road map of gear and upgrades you had in it. Cheers! {:o:O:}
Intimidating presence is only good in content where big groups of adds adds spawn periodically like mdom or after 2nd boss mic. Templar is more threat per divinity so using divine champion is just better for survivability. But for aoe between boss fights in content like mdwp you can get away with using both Templar and intimidating because usually there's no threat of dying to adds. Definitely wouldn't use intimidating I'm a st fight where you take multiple tank busts over the duration of the fight, you just get less shield and the agro from intimidating alone will not hold agro during an arti call.
@@Aragon- you shouldn't really need increased threat on anything in a single target fight, daily, manticore, Templar and smite are enough to hold agro in pretty much every situation. Using intimidating with that is just over kill and lowers the amount you block for big hits. But didn't know it gives additional threat on everything, which I'm assuming is at wills included.
The only reason to use Templars these days is for immediate burst threat, which is not needed even against the massive burst of a full trial Group. Believe me, I've ran enough gzemnids reliquary lately. Intimidating+daily+2 smites and your all set for the arti call and beyond. Everyone below 50% of your threat
You stole this build from Ol’ St Nick PSN. You can delete but I’ll make sure the world knows buddy. You snatched it from discord from him asking you questions. I’ll be sure to make a video about ya. Cheers, but this isn’t YOUR build a bvm.

Happy to help :)

yes yes
On Xbox the dragon fire goes away if you use stuff from your appearance library

choose the gear pieces with the best bonus. ignore item level
Any chance your going to do a vid on which variant of the waukeen bag is best to open for ad/profit? Bag, strongbox, treasure chest or golden chest? 🙂
the golden ones. just posted a vid on the event

6 Con = 3% HP
So about 45k
Not worth instead of Tiamat with 8% damage resist and 8% crit avoid. Even if it's at best 50% uptime

Whats the best class for tanking paladin, fighter or barbarian
They can all get the job done. But I favor paladin
I play on Ps4 - anyone else having difficulty in selecting the 3 slot bonuses using 4 insignias? what am i missing please? welp
Why mention only three collars? Why not the first two? I know one is only AD bonus or something, but what about the other?

rad bonus and encounter damage

You forget. Intimidating presence gives you +500% threat to all attacks
You get far more threat from intimidating than you realise and it really is not a problem with divinity management.

You have more threat per divinity with intimidating than Templars. Why use an encounter power slot for Templars. It is just a waste and inefficient!

Not much, feel free to do so
You ll get 5% CA bonus, it will help with aggro somehow 🙃
can this used for solo content?
It is for tanking, not damage. So it would not be great for solo content where damage is important
