This scene makes me tear up man and I am not ashamed to admit it. They’re both in pain and the world is very soon going to “end” (Great Depression -> WWII/Holocaust). She lost her dignity, lost her friend, sister suffering, living in squalor.... he lost his brother, lost his peace of mind, lost his family life.... but in this moment they come together and relent to their true feelings. What a beautiful scene with a beautiful song. I love this series, maybe my favorite ever
Sad to think, that in a decade and a half most if not all of the people in this room will be either dead or displaced from the disaster that was the Third Reich. Some will be its victims, some its perpetrators, and some simply its collateral damage. But they will all see their world destroyed before their very eyes, whatever innocence and joy they managed to win in this small moment will be dashed to pieces, leaving nothing but bittersweet memories. It does indeed make you want to cry.

Like us, they lived through a time of war, defeat, and economic hardship that brought about a great disillusionment, but also a brief moment of hope for a better future. They truly believed that the worst was behind them, that somehow they were going to usher in a bright new era. They were people who accounted themselves good, just, and without prejudice. Alas, they shared this milieu with people who were hopelessly and bitterly stuck in the past, people willing to sacrifice anything to avenge the national honor. All it took was one skilled manipulator to reverse the arc of history towards destruction.
I prefer this simple version with the accordion, rather than the full band version. This version is raw, unpolished, but filled with feelings. I must admit, when I first saw the scene it brought tears to my eyes.
@@Targanar Yeah, the train scene really took away from the nice noir-style realism that had built over the episodes. I think they were going for a fantastical climax, but it would've been a lot more fitting if they had done a spy scene or something like that.
Just finished binge-watching all 4 seasons of Babylon-Berlin. Did not think it would get under my skin (and with surely the most murders of any series ever shown?!!!!) But that Miss Charlotte was utterly spellbinding :) "Ein Tag wie Gold" is my new favourite earworm. And Christian's hauntingly beautiful performance of "Du bist alles" was simply heart-rending and will also be in my Playlists forever. Thank You, All. RjB

And only in season 3 they finally have this special moment at Birthday party, speaking without words, only with glances and touches. Can´t wait to see how their relationship will develop in S4! ♥

And finally Gereon stared at her, smiled lighting up the room and kissed her putting his soul into it and the wait was worth it... Lotte you are the best, you made that all of this happened.
A beautiful scene that was long coming. Rath has saved her life twice...He loves her and she him. A lot of baggage from each...but good hearts and keen minds. They belong together....Will it be? We shall see...
This is a top notch production. Wonderfully entertaining plot which just happens to be an accurate depiction of what happened in pre war Germany. Superb acting , directing and I just love the music too.

Es una declaración de amor del cantante y tambien un paraiso de los heterogeneos unos, homosexuales, el jefe musico de la policia, el musulman y un largo etc. en unmmundo en transición (como el nuestro) esta escena me recuerda en algo The thunder de unorthodox, una serie mediocre con unos 10 minutos gloriosos, aca una temporada tercera con bastantes problemas, se rescata con esta escena sublime
