There is a lot of duplication throughout most Microsoft products. They like to give you several different ways to get to the same place. Sensitive info types are relevant to many different purview features though.
Yes, the alerts will take you into the matching policy, and from there you can select the items you wish, choose Automate, and you can choose Power Automate actions as needed.
