MADE IN SCAMPIA

As part of the development plan of Scampia, the municipality of Naples is going to demolish the notorious Vele buildings, as well as building a new university department in this suburb. This documentary shines a light on how Scampia is developing and how this influences the future perspectives of the youth that grows up there.

Yes, very informative and thanks for the English...I hope things improve. They live in such a beautiful place, it is a shame to think that some people so close to Naples are caught in poverty and crime. God bless them.

thank you so much for this. its hard to find something good about le veles in english. i just came back from naples, also visited scampia cause i was curious if it really is like that. it looked excactly like shown in this film. le veles are a sign of the a failed government..it was designed to be efficient, to make money, and put as many people in a house as possible. it was horrible going through there. i wanted to talk to people, but in 2-3 hours i only saw 2-3 people from which only one wanted to know where im from. i cannot understand why the administration not helping the people that are left there...its a shame

Because of a terrible economic situation and the camorra. About mid documentation says that a lot of parents are in prison. Because of that kids go to work after school often illegal jobs for the camorra. Mafia, ndrangeda and camorra are the ruling organisations. Nothing is done without them being paid and in charge. I go so far to say that anyone of the officals talking is part or paid by the camorra.

@GTR LK i say the sicilian mafia. They are already for decades in the italian and american goverment without making big noise.

@GTR LK it‘s not the violence that makes the sicilian mafia so powerfull. It‘s the way they can operate. Imagine they get rid of someone and everything is clean ( police testimony, autopsy, attorney, attorney of the victim and judge) this is a part of the power.

Scampia was a urban project gone wrong, but I'm sure a lot of people are grateful for it, if it led to crime so what? It gave people the balls to be survivors,
