I remember in Minority Report, they showed future federal low income housing that looked like an extremely expensive hotel; it’s this kind of subtle brainwashing that makes people think that there’s far more assistance than there is. I have never heard of “federal” low income housing that’s actually run by the federal government; but even though the movie was a fictional future, it subtly makes people assume that services exist which don’t.

*I became homeless in may and it has been hell this summer. All i have is 2 small bags but every store i go to to cool off im immediately told to leave. Especially if i nod off for even a second. Even hospitals kick me out of the lobby. I slept outside and got jumped and robbed. Broken jaw and fractured eye socket and lost everything I owned. I always knew that people in this country are full of hate but being homeless has shown me just how bad they can be. Not looking forward to winter at all. (Yes i apply and interview for jobs almost every day but am yet to get a call back. Given that i I have no clean clothes or haircut to look presentable I'm pretty sure I lose the job before the interview even starts.)*

Thank you for shining a spotlight on this. I've lived in Phoenix for 40 years and it keeps getting hotter. It's the 5th largest city in the country and people are moving here in droves. There is so much concrete now and it just holds the heat in. Last night was the first time the temps dipped under 90 in over a month.
I wish the tenants would give all the facts within the story. The name of the neighbors as well as their landlord as just that. Facts which pertain to the story at hand.
I did notice the message being sent was that the lease would not be renewed, but they could live there month to month. Easy way to force someone out, right? The next step is the easy one, 30 day notice. I would move with neighbors like that.

I am shocked!! These two caring women are trying to save lives. To those who don’t like what they’re doing, I ask, “what if you were in the shoes of those homeless people? Are they less human because they are without a home?’ Denying water to anyone is total cruelty especially in the heat you are all experiencing at this time. I thought we are trying to be a country who cares about others. Obviously I am wrong. How sad, how tragic.

The only word I could come up with is. Sickening. In my opinion, I’m sure there are some ways legally to fight this, on their behalf. There is no laws being broken and if somebody who is a third-party, take some thing out of somebody’s yard and throws it on the ground as garbage, then they are liable for littering not the ones who gave them the item. If these guys ever took it to court, I would totally donate.

I bet a months paycheck the complaint came from a "Christian" more worried about his property value than dead and dying brothers and sisters in the street. *I became homeless in may and it has been hell this summer. All i have is 2 small bags but every store i go to to cool off im immediately told to leave. Especially if i nod off for even a second. Even hospitals kick me out of the lobby. I slept outside and got jumped and robbed. Broken jaw and fractured eye socket and lost everything I owned. I always knew that people in this country are full of hate but being homeless has shown me just how bad they can be. Not looking forward to winter at all. (Yes i apply and interview for jobs almost every day but am yet to get a call back. Given that i I have no clean clothes or haircut to look presentable I'm pretty sure I lose the job before the interview even starts.)*

We've been homeless too (and are in danger of having it happen again!), and I can totally relate to that part about the stores getting mad at you for either showing up or - God forbid - falling asleep. Question: As you so rightly pointed out it broke 120 here in Arizona. Next year it will break 121, the following year it will break 122, and on and on and on. So what happens then? I mean, doesn't that mean there will just be more need next year?
I'm also thinking the neighbor has been sitting there, just waiting for a chance to go after this couple for any specious "reason" at all. Arizona has a pretty lousy, intolerant rep.

we learned a lesson in social studies, way back probably in 7th grade. our teacher laid out a winning argument to show that the only 4 things a human "needs" to survive are
food
water
shelter
clothing.

Thank you for shining a spotlight on this. I've lived in Phoenix for 40 years and it keeps getting hotter. It's the 5th largest city in the country and people are moving here in droves. There is so much concrete now and it just holds the heat in. Last night was the first time the temps dipped under 90 in over a month.

I did notice the message being sent was that the lease would not be renewed, but they could live there month to month. Easy way to force someone out, right? The next step is the easy one, 30 day notice. I would move with neighbors like that.
