Star Wars The Acolyte Review of Season 1 Episode 7 where we get a flashback to explain the plot holes. Except the plot holes just get worse and now the previous episodes don't make sense too. Surprisingly most of The Acolyte episode 3 was just confirmed, even the stupid parts of the plot. Everyone was making up theories and excuses to try and make the show better but no, we overestimated the writers once more. In fact all of the interviews about the show being morally complex, challenging, and shown from the sith perspective. None of this has happened. The Sith are entirely evil, the Jedi entirely good, and while that's how it should be. It's very strange that wasn't the intention of the show and they lucked into it. Is it just me or does the Wookie’s feet look faker than usual? I’m surprised that Headland didn’t have her commie space witches do some ‘spirit cooking.’
The whole series is a shit show, and this episode was essily yhe worst one yet, But they're not Sith. Sith is a very specific order of teachings in the usage of the Dark Side of the force. This is jusf a Dark Side sect of witches. (Sorry, calling anyone who uses the Dark Side a Sith really bothers me. Sith is a very specific group and teachings, the opposite of Jedi. There are also Dark Side using Jedi, like Kylo who are called Dark or Fallen Jedi. He was never a Sith) There are more force sects than Jedi and Sith, groups who are light, dark, or even grey.
He was mastering the patience he clearly lacked. And then he became so patient that he wanted someone to kill him out of boredom...I think. I have no idea what is going on in that then-padawan's mind other than a lesbian space witch telling him that he just wants to go home.
They might as well hire 2 Disparu subs to write a show. Nevermind. Those subs would write a better Star Wars show than Disney has so far (besides Andor and 2 seasons of Mandolorian.)
Possessing Jedi to attack their friends, mind-manipulating a padawan by preying on their insecurities, manipulating an 8 year old child into using violence, and suddenly turning into a black smoke creature will certainly prove that the Lesbian Space Witches were (somehow) "good", and that the Jedi were (somehow) "evil", right? (Seriously, what the HELL were the writers smoking when they wrote this episode?)
Why not? This is what these people have done in the real world of western civilization... flipped everything on its head so that the good values and mores that made western civilization great are considered evil, and every twisted, perverted idea is moral, instead.

@@orionbelt4013 Biggest issue is that Indara didn't do enough against May. She was passive the entire fight when she could've disarmed May and snapped her arm like a twig before she could hurt a single person. Indara was actively not compassionate in that scene. Legends did have a weird battle with Jacen Solo taking out Mara Jade, but in the moment she was about to kill him he used to force to project an image of HER OWN SON over himself to make her hesitate for a single moment and counter-attack. Like fuck, it woulda been cool if she had a remote crossbow set up to fire at a specific spot and then she lured Indara there, using machines who can't be detected to use traditional ballistics which can't be deflected.
So the Jedi really didn't do anything wrong. The Space Witches attacked the Jedi with their magic powers, took over the then-Padawan's mind and coerced him into making a hasty decision, took over the Wookie's mind and forced him into trying to kill his allies, died when their connection to the one they were mind-controlling was severed, and Evil Twin really did almost get Good Twin killed by setting their home on fire...even though it was all stone, metal, and non-flammable materials. Such stunning and brave writing.
This show has proven two rumors beyond any shadow of a doubt: 1, it is basically impossible for a writer to write a convincing character who is smarter than themselves; and 2, Leslye Headland has a room-temperature IQ...
Leslie is Sol and Qimir, think about it she picked Amandla for this role before it was even done, and she wrote both these characters to be obsessed with the child and adult versions of her character. Leslie writes what she knows.

The Jedi wanting to take one or both of their magic children triggered the space witches so badly that they did something self-destructive, so I think the argument is that the Jedi are the bad guys because if they weren't there and left this possibly Dark Side cult alone, they wouldn't have put themselves in a situation where they would have died. Though they are still the ones responsible for their own deaths by mind-controlling a Jedi master, so I have no sympathy for that. Its like a crazy person shooting themselves in the head while screaming, "This is all your fault!"

The problem with that plot is meeting the wizard who can't possible exist given there is not a single man in this universe that is powerful enough for that role.

THese script writers have to have characters tell you what "Really" happened in movies and shows constantly, because we saw what happened, and they are going to gaslight us. "No it is the Jedi's fault for being their without being hostile and actually being attacked first. They are the evil ones, the girl who literally tried to kill her sister but felt bad after doing it and ran to mommy to come fix it as her mothers are aggressively threatening two people with their weapons, and then turns into some kind of dark cloud, They are innocent. It is the Jedi's fault."
Turning into a huge evil smoke monster to just say, Osha chose the Jedi. Is a bit like waving a gun at child protection services and then wondering why the police are shooting you.
Also, that last bit of gaslighting when she says... "I was going to let her go with you..." Should have told them that from the start, would have saved by letting the Jedi know she's okay with Osha leaving... Except she wasn't really and allowed the situation to deteriorate. Only saying what she did to cast doubt in Sol's mind and make him question himself which would hurt his focus on the force and make him an easier target. Fortunately all the Witches were killed when they threaded together to hard and were then forced out of the Wookie. It's exactly what happens when you tell a Wokers "No." They think their dying only in the Acolyte they pushed the idea a bit further.

That is, until Master Sol says "I don't know what it is you're doing, mother of that child who I've known for a day, so I guess I'll just kill you".

The funny thing is, other episodes have shown us travel between Coruscant and any other place in the galaxy takes about 2 seconds; if Torbin was so homesick he could have went there, watched his favorite show and returned back before any of the other jedi even noticed.
'I don't tell my padawan answers to ease his mind, I let him stew over not having information he can't possibly get'. So you train people to turn to the dark side in sheer frustration because you're a crap teacher then, lady? No wonder he's a twit. His teacher doesn't teach. The rest of this episode just reminded me of one thing: Remember when an aged Obi Wan Kenobi sliced a dude's hand off for pulling a blaster? I miss when Jedi weren't complete wussies.
Dark side users: make one Jedi dude sorta succumb to the dark side, ready to do anything to go home..... Turns out he actually ends up acting reasonable despite all that.... Dark side users: make their own daughter succumb to the dark side, ready to burn her own home to the ground and kill her sister in order to stop her sister from leaving..... Dark side users: succumb to the dark side and act hostile and try to start a war over something that could be easily solved with, "No thanks, go away now." Jedi: "Hey your kid seems to be trying to kill your other kid and we are worried for her safety." Dark side user: *Turns demonic* Disney: "The Jedi are the bad guys. Hyuhuk"

Squid Game is from Korea. He's named Sol in the show. The capital of Korea is Seoul. While Moss isn't playing one of the witches, Indara sounds a lot like Andora from Bewitched.
He is saving children, and in a good show, that would be clear and more important. But we have this, and this is a Star Wars parody fanfic. Star Wars doesn't exist any more.

And between the two backstory episodes that are not a backstory because there is no story this cost $45,000,000 to give no perspective. The two back episodes (I refuse to keep adding story to that) cost more than most people will ever earn in their lifetimes just to do nothing useful. JFHC on a bike this is bizarre beyond words.
Lets see what we "learnt" 1) Mae still is the cause of fire, AND the explosions too! 2) Sol only killed head witch AFTER she appears to attack, and she tries to kill Mae without explaining anything! 3) other mother gets disarmed in quick order 4) Other witches posess the wookiee to attack first. Trinity breaking the connection kills them all in hilarious fashion 5) Jedi spend 2 months literally combing the desert, completely ignoring the village or other events 6) Jedi are stupidly emo for no darn reason. Especially Sol 7) Jedi can scan for force vergences with machines, but not sense it in the force themselves. 8) So much for the power of Many. One Jedi just beat them all in mind games
That scene where the mother got stabbed was so dumb, imagine Thanos did the snap everyone is dissolving Thor comes in and stabs Thanos, then Thanos goes "I'm saving half the universe" and then Thor feels remorse and goes "what have I done!?" and then starts playing Fortnite in depression and gets fat. The Jedi did nothing wrong, the writers have no concept of self defense.

Raising kids must also include being able to properly express your _feelings_ towards them, for example that you love them, you appreciate them, you are proud of them.... but all the same time Disparu seems to be denying very vehemently the validity or need for any feelings whatsoever. His views on men, women and relationships seem to be worryingly warped at this point
the "sacrifice" cinematic trailer for SWTOR literally told the twin story better in 3 minutes than this show has in 7 whole episodes. It's insane how bad the writing is
Seriously, were the Sacrifice trailer animated into a full length feature, it'd have been the best Star Wars product since Revenge of the Sith came out. Awesome visuals, functioning philosophy, confronting the problems at the heart of Star Wars' factions (BOTH Sith and Jedi), in a setup with sci-fantasy tech both new and ancient and super cool and compelling characters needing but minutes of screentime to be three-dimensional. I only watch the show now as a joke and to get a head start on what Disparu and the other RUclipsrs are going to rip the piss out of. I’m normally pretty accurate. That’s nothing to do with my analytical skills, but more to do with how blatantly rubbish and obvious the plots are.
Luke needed the Rebel Alliance, a X-wing, and the Force to destroy the Death Star, he should have just thrown a lantern at the trash compactor door - job done.
The auto-subtitles literally spell it out as "virgin". Seems like just another sign of how dumb the writers are. "convergence" is a perfectly fine word for a place where things come together. Dropping the "con" doesn't make them look smarter.
If I'd seen impossibly identical results from two samples in a test, my first conclusion would be "oops, I must've put the same sample in twice!", not "holy hyperspace, the Force did it!"
I am a scientist and this is *exactly* what anyone reasonable would assume. Next would be: "contamination of the machine by the previous sample", "testing machine is defect" "it was the same girl twice and we didn't notice, because they were twins - we got bamboozled!" you would never jump to the conclusion that it is something that has never happened before in the history of science.
Turning into an evil smoke demon while screaming "No!" instead of just stepping between your psychotic wife and the Padawan she's about to try and stab with a spear is certainly an interesting de-escalation tactic.
The Witches literally started with mind-control to try to take-out the Jedi, yet I'm supposed to think the Jedi are the villains?! The Jedi are absolute heroes here! The Witches FA&FO, conscious cleared. Absolutely no remorse or regret should be had from this. Good triumphed over evil, the end.
Well, the writers are woke and they made the Jedi into space cops, so that alone makes the Jedi evil in their book. Remember, awhile back a cop shot a black teenage girl as she was trying to stab another black teenage girl. The whole thing was caught on the officer's body cam. You see him yelling at the girl to drop the knife, and he only shot her about a half second before the knife would've gone into the other girl's torso. No question the cop saved the other girl's life, but the wokies claimed he was just a racist murderer who wanted to shoot a black teenage girl for being black. They even claimed there was no reason to shoot since she didn't have a gun. These people truly hate police, and they assume that if the Jedi are the police everyone will just naturally hate them for it even if there's no other reason given to show why you should.
I love how this reminds me of how demons, usually during a exorcism or on the lead up to one, will quote scripture mockingly but may inadvertently quote something that encourages more faith in their opponents, ultimately leading to their loss in the battle. The writers made a straw man out of the Jedi and thought they were dunking on them but ended up letting us know that the dark side loses because of their lack of faith. I'll call this story canon in the meta sense that it brings the truth of the fight between good fans and misguided creators to our world. The fans won because the force is strong in all of us.
Tommen trying to abduct the kids: Because Witch mother seduced him to the dark side by exploiting his desire to go home. Mae burning down the fortress: Because Devil mother seduced her to the dark side. Fight breaking out: Because Devil mother was seduced by the dark side, and Witch mother acted hostile and turned into a shadow demon...... Disney: "It's the Jedi's fault."

My theory is that the two are actually the different ends of the same hole, and the guys who were kicked down the Spartans hole came out inside Disney Wars' universe. Truly a fate worse than death.
Don't forget that the witches just assumed the Jedi were there to spy on them when the Jedi had no freaking clue they were even there. It was rash paranoia that fueled panic and overreaction without any desire to work out what was actually going on. The whole coven was unstable and unreliable in providing any sort of clear judgment about the situation - either in the moment or reflecting on it. The fact that the Jedi seem to agree with the witches' self-ascribed martyrdom even though it was all self-inflicted means that we're all supposed to agree that the witches were the victims here, but they instigated it all and invaded people's minds in very forceful ways without warning or attempts at deescalation.
He'll Trade you his lightsabre for a Fish finger butty, or a pork pie, and what he'd do for a Spam Fritter, Chips, and gravy, is forbidden throughout most of the galaxy

The biggest problem with portraying the Jedi as bad/corrupt is that no matter how the current writers see it, George Lucas never really saw it that way. So there’s all these things in the lore and stuff characters have said that they have to either re-contextualize, ignore, or just say that the old & beloved characters were wrong about the Jedi. And none of those explanations are going to sit well with die-hard Star Wars fans.
I think its this huge anti hero craze, its like what everyone is doing these days, I cant remember the last just pure good hero character that's been done since captain america.

@@MetalHermit83 It's not even that. The makers of this show, as part of their song and dance on the press tour, were gushing about how the morality in _Star Wars_ was all gray and nuanced. You can, if you like, believe that they believe that. I think they need to believe that there's no such thing as black and white morality, that everything is shades of gray, because it allows Leslye Headland to pretend that she's not a horrible person.
I mean, the galaxy is humongous big. There is more than enough space for interesting Jedi splinter movements. Forget the fuggin Sith, there is more than a good story for splinter jedi and for tension with non-jedi force users.
The funny thing about the test is she still knows exactly when the picture changes (except for the time she suddenly doesn't) so she gives herself away immediately
It's even worse than all of that, the ENTIRE pissing Jedi was supposedly looking for them and that's why they went into hiding on that planet. Yet, not one of the Jedi's in that show have any idea that they even existed... The witches were insignificant to the order. The witches were victimizing themselves. They were hostile to a group who didn't even care that they existed as when they report about them, they get told to "LEAVE THEM ALONE", life wtf... It means they died they attacked the equivalent of CPS.
The rumour is that Headlamp converted most of the budget into Krugerrands and buried them for a rainy day. That’s probably what the metal detector was for.
They portrayed the Sith mothers as evil IN THEIR OWN SHOW! Mae came out and called for help. Sol, even though he got the wrong kid, reached out to signal her to stay back while the Sith mother made no move to help Mae, but was so consumed by hate that she set her daughter's distress aside to attempt murder.
So you'd wonder why she's so adamant they can't leave. It's certainly not because she cares one whit about them that's for sure. But as per, no real explanations.
What I find extremly funny is that the show wants to tell us the witches were good, the Sith is understandable and the Jedi are bad. But all the show SHOWED is the opposite. The Sith killing people because he wants to, the witches attacking the Jedi who were civil and polite and the Jedi only acted in self defense. And why the Jedi have so many regrets makes no sense to me (especially Thorben who has no reason to kill himself) - Sol acted how he thought the force wanted him to, and acted in self defense, trying his best to keep two children alive. They acted in self defense (which is no issue at all according to the Jedi teachings) or in defense of others (Sol killed the leader, true, but only because he thought she is attacking a child). There is no reason at all to be so regretful. Even letting Mae fall (which was a bit stupid) would not be such a devastating thing, because she tried to kill her sister, burned down the whole complex and was already corrupted by the dark side) Really ironic that they didn't even manage to have the message they wanted to have in their show, even though they wrote it. Sure, the writing is bad, but if you can't even write the message you intended to write (according to comments in interviews and in articles in the media)
When sol gives Mae and Osha the test, they should have done it like Bill Murray doing the Zener Card test with the students in Ghost Busters. Osha gets them all wrong, but Sol just lies and says she got them all right, while Mae guesses correctly, but he fails her anyway.

What is astonishing about this series is, that whenever you see an obvious cliche plot point coming and you are thinking "nah, that can't be it, it would be too obvious and stupid" that is exactly what is going to happen. It is like Headland invented the reverse red herring. It is so stupid it is kinda genius. Anyone could make a bad Star Wars show, but to make a Star Wars show that is so bad that even Grace Randolph has to stop pretending to like it has to be a form of art.
I feel like the writers have never seen a mining site before. It's a huge concrete/stone structure/building on top of a mountain. Most mines are just holes when viewed from the outside
I cant wait for episode 8 where these amazing writers tie this entire story of suspense together in a perfectly reasonable and amazingly twisty way that none of us expect.
I think Lesby already said there was no surprise ending. It's just going to be another disappointment in a series of growing disappointments. So, peak disappointment.
The biggest suspense will be if the writers are able to leave as many unexplained (and inexplicable) plot threads hanging as RTD did for the recent Who finale, lol.
I'm pretty much certain the point was supposed to be "They're not violent because they're women" Which in the how's context alone that's laughable, but how the line came up made it easy to think she meant they weren't a threat hahaha!
See the thing is jedi aren't necessarily good and sith aren't necessarily evil atleast in the values they teach it's just that their beliefs align with good or evil more so a story about jedi being technically the antagonists could be super interesting but only if the jedi who r the antagonists r actually following jedi teachings as we understand them not this trash

@iceman00behave no I didn't say that I said the teachings the jedi and sith follow r not necessarily good or evil but lead to good or evil more often than not the sith teach to use your emotions to access more power which more often then not leads to corruption and evil while the jedi teach neutrality disconnecting from all worldly desires like emotion and trusting in the force keeping the peace doesn't always end well for people involved which is why I'm saying it would be interesting to have jedi as the TECHNICAL antagonists not that the jedi would be actually bad people but more that something they're doing screws over people they didn't intend we know order 66 happened because the jedi got complacent and were too disconnected which lead to their down fall so something in that vain could be fun to watch
I think this episode accurately represent how the writers feel about oppression. The witches are being oppressed because they simple are oppressed, the actions of the Jedi and their actions don't have to line up with the idea that they are oppressed. Women are oppressed by men, black people by white people, homosexuals by heterosexuals and transsexuals by everyone, regardless of whatever situation is at hand. In this fantasy world, the witches are set up as being oppressed by the Jedi and the republic and that is what is happening regardless of what actions the supposed victims and the supposed oppressors take.
They definitely chickened out with the whole "Torbin getting mind-broken" thing, and it would have been so simple. Just have his reason to go home be that he senses great pain in his future or something, then when the head witch gets in his head, make it actual torture instead of "I can help you go home", so that his reasoning for wanting to go home later is for good reason; he doesn't want to get mind-tortured again! Wouldn't make his suicide make any more sense, but at least his motivation in this episode would make more sense.
How did they manage to land within an easy walking distance from the massive fortress on top of a mountain and not see it? Sure the Jedi in the original movie were magical monks with powers but those powers had limits, what they could do was very, very special. Now though, they can do everything and anything any time they want.

The _book_ started that whole fire? The _book?_ I think we all assumed that was so stupid and outlandish that there had to be more, surely to make the Jedi look evil because DSW gotta' DSW. But the big twist was that the Jedi _didn't_ do anything wrong (Sol being completely OOC for a Jedi knight in the most convenient way possible for the script notwithstanding) and the base really _did_ burn down because of _one burning book?!_ I don't even think this qualifies as a "the twist is there _is_ no twist" moment. Not enough hubris or being proud of itself for that. Look at Dr. Gatwa: in the "who is Ruby's mom?" instance, the show all but took a victory lap after its non-twist, patting itself on the back for its cleverness and chastising the audience for thinking the finale of the season would have ended on some kind of meaningful substance. But the events on Brendok? That was just a senseless miscommunication that spiraled into a triple chocolate clusterfunk for all involved. The twist is that literally every character who expressed agency was a complete moron who acted against their own motives. "Remember, kids: if you want to do something, avoid screwing yourself over." ...That doesn't _sound_ like it's supposed to be the takeaway.

Okay, a few things. 1) Testing the kids on “seeing” images… that’s a bog-standard ESP test. It’s a little odd for Jedi, as remote viewing isn’t a power they canonically have. *Predicting* what images will show up… that’s something that would fit, as precognition is central to the Jedi power-set. 2) Vader could sense when Luke was within *thousands of miles* of him and *knew* when he got rescued on Bespin… yet Sol can’t tell twins apart when one has been *marked by evil*. Despite “sensing a bond” with one of them. 3) Jedi have, prior to Disney Wars, never been shown as using The Force directly on other people. In fact, other than Force Lightning and Vader’s Force Choke, even Dark Side users don’t use The Force on people. Why? Dunno. But that could provide an explanation for why Sol couldn’t rescue both girls and even had to grab Osha’s hand to save her. But, he used The Force to stop her from falling off a cliff on the ice planet… so, inconsistency. 4) The Dark Witches were obviously using an Explodium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator in their power core… because they’re Daffy! 5) The Jedi should’ve nuked the site from orbit… It’s the only way to be sure. 6) The reason Sol was able to kill the Dark Mother was… because she forgot to say “It’s Morbin’ Time!”

In the one scene where they are together, she is misidentified as her sister. The only other scene at all with either is when he takes Oshas blood, prior to being told to test her blood. I guess he was just collecting? Either way, why is he so guilt ridden about a kid hes never actually talked to?

Star Wars The Acolyte Review of Season 1 Episode 7 where we get a flashback to explain the plot holes. Except the plot holes just get worse and now the previous episodes don't make sense too. Surprisingly most of The Acolyte episode 3 was just confirmed, even the stupid parts of the plot. Everyone was making up theories and excuses to try and make the show better but no, we overestimated the writers once more. In fact all of the interviews about the show being morally complex, challenging, and shown from the sith perspective. None of this has happened. The Sith are entirely evil, the Jedi entirely good, and while that's how it should be. It's very strange that wasn't the intention of the show and they lucked into it. @@orionbelt4013 Biggest issue is that Indara didn't do enough against May. She was passive the entire fight when she could've disarmed May and snapped her arm like a twig before she could hurt a single person.
Indara was actively not compassionate in that scene.
Legends did have a weird battle with Jacen Solo taking out Mara Jade, but in the moment she was about to kill him he used to force to project an image of HER OWN SON over himself to make her hesitate for a single moment and counter-attack.
Like fuck, it woulda been cool if she had a remote crossbow set up to fire at a specific spot and then she lured Indara there, using machines who can't be detected to use traditional ballistics which can't be deflected.

Such stunning and brave writing.

1, it is basically impossible for a writer to write a convincing character who is smarter than themselves;

The Witches literally started with mind-control to try to take-out the Jedi, yet I'm supposed to think the Jedi are the villains?! The Jedi are absolute heroes here!

Well, the writers are woke and they made the Jedi into space cops, so that alone makes the Jedi evil in their book. Remember, awhile back a cop shot a black teenage girl as she was trying to stab another black teenage girl. The whole thing was caught on the officer's body cam. You see him yelling at the girl to drop the knife, and he only shot her about a half second before the knife would've gone into the other girl's torso. No question the cop saved the other girl's life, but the wokies claimed he was just a racist murderer who wanted to shoot a black teenage girl for being black. They even claimed there was no reason to shoot since she didn't have a gun. These people truly hate police, and they assume that if the Jedi are the police everyone will just naturally hate them for it even if there's no other reason given to show why you should.
Ah that incident, there off to the side was a man about to stomp on a different girl's head. The officer probably saved two people that day.
I love how this reminds me of how demons, usually during a exorcism or on the lead up to one, will quote scripture mockingly but may inadvertently quote something that encourages more faith in their opponents, ultimately leading to their loss in the battle.
The writers made a straw man out of the Jedi and thought they were dunking on them but ended up letting us know that the dark side loses because of their lack of faith. I'll call this story canon in the meta sense that it brings the truth of the fight between good fans and misguided creators to our world. The fans won because the force is strong in all of us.
Tommen trying to abduct the kids: Because Witch mother seduced him to the dark side by exploiting his desire to go home.
Mae burning down the fortress: Because Devil mother seduced her to the dark side.
Fight breaking out: Because Devil mother was seduced by the dark side, and Witch mother acted hostile and turned into a shadow demon......

Don't forget that the witches just assumed the Jedi were there to spy on them when the Jedi had no freaking clue they were even there. It was rash paranoia that fueled panic and overreaction without any desire to work out what was actually going on. The whole coven was unstable and unreliable in providing any sort of clear judgment about the situation - either in the moment or reflecting on it.
The fact that the Jedi seem to agree with the witches' self-ascribed martyrdom even though it was all self-inflicted means that we're all supposed to agree that the witches were the victims here, but they instigated it all and invaded people's minds in very forceful ways without warning or attempts at deescalation.

The biggest problem with portraying the Jedi as bad/corrupt is that no matter how the current writers see it, George Lucas never really saw it that way.
So there’s all these things in the lore and stuff characters have said that they have to either re-contextualize, ignore, or just say that the old & beloved characters were wrong about the Jedi.
And none of those explanations are going to sit well with die-hard Star Wars fans.
I think its this huge anti hero craze, its like what everyone is doing these days, I cant remember the last just pure good hero character that's been done since captain america.

I think they need to believe that there's no such thing as black and white morality, that everything is shades of gray, because it allows Leslye Headland to pretend that she's not a horrible person.
I mean, the galaxy is humongous big. There is more than enough space for interesting Jedi splinter movements. Forget the fuggin Sith, there is more than a good story for splinter jedi and for tension with non-jedi force users.

They portrayed the Sith mothers as evil IN THEIR OWN SHOW! Mae came out and called for help. Sol, even though he got the wrong kid, reached out to signal her to stay back while the Sith mother made no move to help Mae, but was so consumed by hate that she set her daughter's distress aside to attempt murder.
So you'd wonder why she's so adamant they can't leave. It's certainly not because she cares one whit about them that's for sure. But as per, no real explanations.
What I find extremly funny is that the show wants to tell us the witches were good, the Sith is understandable and the Jedi are bad.
But all the show SHOWED is the opposite. The Sith killing people because he wants to, the witches attacking the Jedi who were civil and polite and the Jedi only acted in self defense.
And why the Jedi have so many regrets makes no sense to me (especially Thorben who has no reason to kill himself) - Sol acted how he thought the force wanted him to, and acted in self defense, trying his best to keep two children alive. They acted in self defense (which is no issue at all according to the Jedi teachings) or in defense of others (Sol killed the leader, true, but only because he thought she is attacking a child). There is no reason at all to be so regretful. Even letting Mae fall (which was a bit stupid) would not be such a devastating thing, because she tried to kill her sister, burned down the whole complex and was already corrupted by the dark side)
Really ironic that they didn't even manage to have the message they wanted to have in their show, even though they wrote it.
Sure, the writing is bad, but if you can't even write the message you intended to write (according to comments in interviews and in articles in the media)

When sol gives Mae and Osha the test, they should have done it like Bill Murray doing the Zener Card test with the students in Ghost Busters. Osha gets them all wrong, but Sol just lies and says she got them all right, while Mae guesses correctly, but he fails her anyway.
Yeah but that takes imagination and an intelligence level that is above room temperature..... if that room was near the arctic circle with no heating.

What is astonishing about this series is, that whenever you see an obvious cliche plot point coming and you are thinking "nah, that can't be it, it would be too obvious and stupid" that is exactly what is going to happen. It is like Headland invented the reverse red herring. It is so stupid it is kinda genius. Anyone could make a bad Star Wars show, but to make a Star Wars show that is so bad that even Grace Randolph has to stop pretending to like it has to be a form of art.

I think this episode accurately represent how the writers feel about oppression. The witches are being oppressed because they simple are oppressed, the actions of the Jedi and their actions don't have to line up with the idea that they are oppressed. Women are oppressed by men, black people by white people, homosexuals by heterosexuals and transsexuals by everyone, regardless of whatever situation is at hand. In this fantasy world, the witches are set up as being oppressed by the Jedi and the republic and that is what is happening regardless of what actions the supposed victims and the supposed oppressors take.
They definitely chickened out with the whole "Torbin getting mind-broken" thing, and it would have been so simple. Just have his reason to go home be that he senses great pain in his future or something, then when the head witch gets in his head, make it actual torture instead of "I can help you go home", so that his reasoning for wanting to go home later is for good reason; he doesn't want to get mind-tortured again!
Wouldn't make his suicide make any more sense, but at least his motivation in this episode would make more sense.

But the big twist was that the Jedi _didn't_ do anything wrong (Sol being completely OOC for a Jedi knight in the most convenient way possible for the script notwithstanding) and the base really _did_ burn down because of _one burning book?!_
I don't even think this qualifies as a "the twist is there _is_ no twist" moment. Not enough hubris or being proud of itself for that. Look at Dr. Gatwa: in the "who is Ruby's mom?" instance, the show all but took a victory lap after its non-twist, patting itself on the back for its cleverness and chastising the audience for thinking the finale of the season would have ended on some kind of meaningful substance. But the events on Brendok? That was just a senseless miscommunication that spiraled into a triple chocolate clusterfunk for all involved. The twist is that literally every character who expressed agency was a complete moron who acted against their own motives. "Remember, kids: if you want to do something, avoid screwing yourself over." ...That doesn't _sound_ like it's supposed to be the takeaway.

This is Disney's _Star Wars,_ bro. They already broke that rule.
Okay, a few things.
1) Testing the kids on “seeing” images… that’s a bog-standard ESP test. It’s a little odd for Jedi, as remote viewing isn’t a power they canonically have. *Predicting* what images will show up… that’s something that would fit, as precognition is central to the Jedi power-set.
2) Vader could sense when Luke was within *thousands of miles* of him and *knew* when he got rescued on Bespin… yet Sol can’t tell twins apart when one has been *marked by evil*. Despite “sensing a bond” with one of them.
3) Jedi have, prior to Disney Wars, never been shown as using The Force directly on other people. In fact, other than Force Lightning and Vader’s Force Choke, even Dark Side users don’t use The Force on people. Why? Dunno. But that could provide an explanation for why Sol couldn’t rescue both girls and even had to grab Osha’s hand to save her. But, he used The Force to stop her from falling off a cliff on the ice planet… so, inconsistency.
4) The Dark Witches were obviously using an Explodium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator in their power core… because they’re Daffy!
5) The Jedi should’ve nuked the site from orbit… It’s the only way to be sure.
6) The reason Sol was able to kill the Dark Mother was… because she forgot to say “It’s Morbin’ Time!”

In the one scene where they are together, she is misidentified as her sister. The only other scene at all with either is when he takes Oshas blood, prior to being told to test her blood. I guess he was just collecting? Either way, why is he so guilt ridden about a kid hes never actually talked to?
