S1 doesn't get enough credit for this. Kanye and Bhasker just added the ear candy to a mostly completed track. They did spend a ton of time perfecting it though.
Continent #6 doesnt get enough credit. I mean come on 4 measures unaltered other then repeats... thats a Continent #6 song with a Kanye and Mike Dean feature added to it.
Fun fact: Kanye actually put together a choir because the original sample wasn’t really fitting too well into the song so he decided to have an ensemble sing and clap the sample
he didn't, he did it to avoid paying the people money that they deserve for sampling so instead he used the rules on interpolating to get away with stealing the sample.
0:58 Man I love when they said: “Neuro-scream, Neuro, Neuro-Scream, Neuro, Neurosurgeons-eam, Neuro-Scream, Neuro, Neurosurgeons-eam, Neuro-Scream, Neuro, 21st century schizoid man”

For me, it's beyond insane the fact that Ye had the authorization to sampling from King Crimson, arguably one of the most secluded bands in history. All of their pioneering pieces were out from RUclips until 2017 because they didn't want any connections with the internet - and even so Ye could sample their most recognizable song...
He actually didn't have permission. Universal released the track without even contacting King Crimson nor DCM (who own the rights to the song) and they only learned about the sample after the release. 2 months after the release they signed a royalty agreement allowing the sample, basically saying that DCM gets paid the same royalties from the track that Kanye does. However, another lawsuit was filed claiming that Universal Music failed to pay proper royalties when it came to streaming and I think that one is still in legal hell

I think the real reason was to avoid using the recording and rather just paying for the songwriting and not additionally the recording itself
