Ignoring FNAF and all of the attention it brought, animatronics absolutely fascinate me and have for quite some time. They're such a sacred view into a period of time I wasn't alive to experience but wish I could have. Seeing the tapes, I project into that room and try to imagine what it must have been like to see those bands up close, and it's an entirely different experience. I wish I could go back in time and book a show, just to be there and see what it was like; to feel the energy of the room, and to really enjoy it at its peak. They're bizarre, somewhat horrifying pieces of metal with that staple mid-to-late 1900's facial style, and its that surreal combination that really makes me wonder what it must have been like to see them from the eyes of a child.
Five Nights at Freddy’s made me try to steer clear of animatronics. This has applied to thousands if not millions of people, which reduced the amount of children who wanted to go to places with animatronics. This realization has led to me believing that Scott Cawthon, the creator of the franchise, indirectly closed a multi-billion dollar company. Well played, Scott.
I don't really agree with you I wasn't that intrested in animatronics until I started learing about fnaf so I think it was that covid made the restaurants go bankrupt and they had to close down
I love this!! Animatronics are one of my fav things and I'd love to get into collecting and refurbishing them if it wasnt so expensive and it didnt freak people out so much,, it's a shame they're becoming obsolete bc theres a weird charm inherent to them Edit: also I bet this channel is gonna take off ur content is SO good
I'm still getting used to the cyberamics at my local Chuck E. Cheese's but I will never forget the Studio C/Star/Circles Of Light 32-movement bot at the Grand Rapids, Michigan location
Same, though given the fact I literally tried to steal Chuck E. Cheese as a child [and obviously failed] I didn't much care whether they freaked other people out.
Here on Peru there are two restaurants similar to Rainforest Cafe: Kilimanjaro and Dino Rex Restaurant, the latter one having dinosaur animatronics instead of rainforest animal ones and located on the Huachipa Zoo.

I'm hoping that animatronic fans will help me figure it out :)🐸 LOVE
that backstory was made for the rockstar era of chuck e cheese. during their 30th anniversary, (back when avenger chuck still roamed stores) it was said in the song he had a family and wasn't an orphan. So this makes rockstar and avenger 2 separate entities.
Chuck E. Cheese needs to stop complaining about business and what customers really want. Just bring back Crusty and then everyone comes to spend money hooray
@@whistlepunkz lol yep. Here’s what they *should* do. Bring back Crusty and add Madam Munch as a new character. Why is a chef playing the drums?? He should play the saxophone and wear sunglasses. Crusty should play the drums and Helen should have a tambourine. Madam Munch can have a violin or something. Give Chuck E. his New Jersey accent and red and yellow clothes with the bow tie and bowler hat back. Stop trying to turn Helen into a gamer girl she should wear a dress or something like that again. Jasper and Mr. Munch are unchanged other than Jasper’s clothes being better looking. The stage itself would essentially be a wall with 7 windows, 4 on the top 3 on the bottom with each having a wooden looking background and the name of each character underneath it. Each backdrop could have some sort of word to represent the character. (Ex: Munch’s Make Believe Band sign, a neon sign reading Chuck E. Cheese for Mr. Munch and Chuck respectively.) All characters would have greatly advanced mobility, however all would be rid of anything below their waist. That is my proposal, apologies to anyone who read it.
I have vague, hazy memories being in a Chuck E Cheese from over a decade ago -- I remember that band there and how I refused to go anywhere near the stage. I think I was about 8 or 9 at the time. I remember other kids actually hopping up onstage or at least trying to. It was chaotic, and I remember my family leaving in a hurry, but I can't remember why. I forgot all about that until FNAF came out. I think that location is still open, and I wonder if they still have the band to this day sometimes... ;-;
I have a similar memory! The one and only time I went to a Chuck E Cheese I was around that same age and I was scared out of my mind. I remember a bunch of boys daring each other to touch one of the animatronic's feet, but I genuinely refused to even LOOK at that stage. I was terrified of Chuck E Cheese before it was cool!
My location only has chuck e cheese, he used to not move until recently when they started using him again. But mostly it was TVs that they used for the shows
Chuck E. Cheese ceos say that kids stopped looking at the animatronics years ago, but when the puppet shows on the huge TVs right next to the animatronics are given 11 times more effort than the animatronics where now they just move their mouths and eyes to the videos, then whose fault do you think it is that kids don’t look at them? IT’S YOURS, CHUCK E. CHEESE CEOS!! AND THEY START TAKING AWAY MOST OF THE ANIMATRONICS AT A LOT OF LOCATIONS WHERE THE TVS ARE EVEN BIGGER!!! #BringBackCrustyTheCatHeWasAlwaysTheBestCharacterNoOneCanProveMeWrong
When you started talking about the Disney animatronic history I was ready to roll my eyes because most videos info on that subject is usually inaccurate, but you did an awesome job. Great video!
Seeing as FNaF has brought animatronics back into the minds of people (And introducing them to kids), I wouldn’t be surprised if the ceo of CEC is considering bringing them back.
The location of the Showbiz Pizza in my town has been a Chinese buffet for decades now. But I'm always charmed by the fact that they have kept the marquee sign intact. It now says "Paradise Buffet" but the shape is instantly recognizable as the Showbiz Pizza logo. I had no idea Nolan Bushnell started Chuck E. Cheese. Cool!
how is this on less than 1k views? love this retro Americana vibe, so fascinating to me as a 90s kid from Australia that's only heard about it secondhand. Slick production and pro quality as well. Super into it.
Aaron Fechter is one of the nicest people on earth. He invented the pool shark too. If you absolutely love Rockafire, he will give you a tour of the animatronics factory. You can tell which animatronics he made by the quality of the chuck e cheese animatronics. His animatronics were (and still are) amazing.
Idk about what you said about the animatronics not being popular at the beginning of the video. I used to go to Chuck E. Cheese and I remember every time I went there was a crowd of kids around the stage every time there was a show.
The last time I went to chuck e cheese (which was probably over 10 years ago now) they had the full band. Its pretty cool to think it was probably a showbiz pizza at some point! I highly doubt they still have the animatronics there, but it would be really cool to see if they still did
1:10 I'm glad that you added FNAF in the beginning of the video it makes me feel happy and comfortable. 9:29 This reminds me of VHS tapes that I've seen in animatronic related videos.
Even before five nights at freddys, I remember being terrified of the animatronics and people in the suits at Chuck E. Cheese. I still had my birthday parties there but I would hide under the table at my party when it was time to hug Chuck E. Cheese
im so glad I found your channel!! the presentation of your videos is incredible and the topics you’ve covered are right up my alley, hope you know you’re doing an amazing job! :D
Technically, animatronics are still a thing( albeit a little less advanced). If you own a furby, a toy that moves around, or if you have ever bought a decoration from home depot( my mom bought oogie boogie when he first came out and we r getting the 13ft Jack Skellington animatronic in the mail from the home depot) u own an animatronic! While those things are less advanced, they are still animatronics and they can still move around or speak or do both. I have even seen some videos of people taking the toys and decorations they own and programming them to add more features( like more movements or more speaking lines).
You did a wonderful job on the video! It deserves so many more views. It’s a shame that animatronics are being pushed out of entertainment. They are a very fascinating and significant part of historic technology.
Great video! And yes I also heard there are some..issues with fnaf making animatronics scary and it affects the restaurant with animatronics, though, because of fnaf, I get to know there is a thing called animatronic, and because of this game, I really wanna go to chuck e cheese or any other pizza place when I can. Because in my country, there is little to no animatronics at all and...I've never heard about pizza/arcade place until...fnaf came out. It felt so new and interesting, I was like "wait....so it's'..restaurant but also arcade place? and there's this..huge doll? thingy on the stage? singing? what is this?" And as a person who loves puppets and dolls in general, though animatronics are robots, the way they look feels like a doll/puppet, so I eventually got interested in with these animatronics So for me, fnaf was...kinda informative in a way
For me the animatronic restaurant of my childhood was Showbiz Pizza Place and The Rock-afire Explosion band. Even had one of my earlier birthdays there. Wish I could find my old photos of it. I was a preteen when the location I went to was turned into a Chuck E. Cheese. Unlike what I've read from others, I was never scared of the animatronics. Probably due to a childhood fascination with electronic toys (Alphie 2, Simon, robots) plus outings to Showbiz Pizza Place followed later by going to Walt Disney World often since a young age. I've always loved animatronics, computers and technology.
Im a big FNaF fan, and last october i went to Chuck E Cheese, but when i got really close to the animatronics i got flash backs from the bit of 87 from FNaF, where an animatronic bites on a kid's head, and that was enough chuck e cheese for me.
Great video I will always love the animatronics I wish one more time somebody would take a whack at it I think animatronics could be big again if they had the right technology I think cec should keep the lighting part of the show it looks great I honestly question why they think a dance floor is a good idea it doesn't really create all that much entertainment definitely not as much as a big light show like they had from 2012 to 2015 but oh well I think the company should really go back to the drawing board with their current entertainment options because 6 tvs above a cheap dancefloor that ain't working half the time sucks
I wish Animatronic Restaurants had become a popular thing in the UK. Like, I know there was like 1 or 2 Attempts using old re-modelled animatronics from America, but they failed. I wish we had our own original locations.
Great job on these videos. Showbiz Pizza Place was the absolute best. I remember my 7th or 8th birthday there and I had me and all my friends try to beat the arm wrestler 1:40 on hard.
I remember going to see Mr. Munches band and I loved it but when I came back I was sad the they toke them away from the stage and used a wall to cover them I was so sad :(
Animatronics still flow through our memories. Spreading joy and fun throughout the people of the world.Proof? 1-Chuck E Cheese was one of our childhood heroes that spread delight in our hearts. 2-FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S SCARED THE HECK OUT OF US AND THAT'S WHY I LOVE ANIMATRONICS!!!
I remember having a strange fascination with animatronics when I was younger. I did become less obsessed over time, however these animated machines still interest me. Your video was really well made too! Keep up the good work.
In my chuck e cheeses restaurant, they got rid of ALL of the animatronics before COVID. Chuck e cheeses is empty and sad nowadays. The only entertainment we have there are games and the depressed actor in a big chuck e cheese suit. Last time I went, the actor was barely interacting with the kids and was almost...motionless.
So, if what you say is true, the Chuck E Cheese 10 minutes away (by car) from my house was a Showbiz Pizza at one point. From what I last knew, it still has the original band on stage. At least, it did when I was a kid and from when I visited for my niece's birthday party a couple years ago (around mid 2018)
I've been watching animatronic videos for years now and I'd never heard of the rainforest or rocky and bullwinkle restaurants before. Cool! I wish there were more videos about animatronics outside of disney parks.
Man... I remember my older cousins stepped on the stage with the animatronics and we all laughed... Then when I found out about the lore of fnaf I literally was so scared 😂
i just watched your woodsy owl video and it was really cool! i’m glad that you made a video about animatronics, i’ve had a fascination with these things since five nights at freddy’s helped me get over my fear of chuck e cheese animatronics. i certainly hope we get some kind of animatronic restaurant revival someday...

Thats not to say fnaf has done the opposite for some people. For me fnaf is what made me MORE interested in animatronics
I'm sure steering people away form animatronics was not his intention. He just wanted to make a creepy game which features animatronics.
I don't really agree with you I wasn't that intrested in animatronics until I started learing about fnaf so I think it was that covid made the restaurants go bankrupt and they had to close down
Animatronics were already a dying breed. Their fade into history was inevitable. Scott Cawthon merely sped up the process.
Not really just chuck e cheess failed to modernize and died off. It just doesnt fit in with 21st century culture
I love this!! Animatronics are one of my fav things and I'd love to get into collecting and refurbishing them if it wasnt so expensive and it didnt freak people out so much,, it's a shame they're becoming obsolete bc theres a weird charm inherent to them
Edit: also I bet this channel is gonna take off ur content is SO good
I'm still getting used to the cyberamics at my local Chuck E.

Also, where are those 2 restaurants you mentioned? I don't think iv ever heard of those places.

I’ll love to visit Peru one day ❤️
Im looking for information on the swamp themed, Pizza place and video game arcade that starred a friendly animatronic gator and his band of frogs etc.. It was in phoenix and or Scottsdale AZ..It was the paradise in which i beat dragons lair and Tron. I wish i knew the name and more about it.
So this makes rockstar and avenger 2 separate entities.
animatronics are a BIG special interest for me and still i didn't know a lot of this stuff. Thank you!!!!! (my favorite is crusty)

Chuck E. Cheese needs to stop complaining about business and what customers really want. Just bring back Crusty and then everyone comes to spend money hooray
@@Toaster003 "oh noooo our animatronic resteraunt is losing business! I know what will fix this! Removing the animatrionics!"

A kids stupid dream
I have vague, hazy memories being in a Chuck E Cheese from over a decade ago -- I remember that band there and how I refused to go anywhere near the stage. I think I was about 8 or 9 at the time.
I remember other kids actually hopping up onstage or at least trying to. It was chaotic, and I remember my family leaving in a hurry, but I can't remember why. I forgot all about that until FNAF came out. I think that location is still open, and I wonder if they still have the band to this day sometimes... ;-;
When they removed token from Chuck E. Cheese’s I was kind of upset because those tickets were my life.
Something about putting tokens into the arcade machines to play them was special
#BringBackCrustyTheCatHeWasAlwaysTheBestCharacterNoOneCanProveMeWrong
my location used to only have him too but he didn't perform
When you started talking about the Disney animatronic history I was ready to roll my eyes because most videos info on that subject is usually inaccurate, but you did an awesome job. Great video!
Seeing as FNaF has brought animatronics back into the minds of people (And introducing them to kids), I wouldn’t be surprised if the ceo of CEC is considering bringing them back.
I hope so

Showbiz: *buys Chuck E. Cheese's to get rid of them once and for all*
CEC: UNO reverse card.
My location had the 80s figures and I'm glad bc even though I have a fear of animatronics I enjoy the memories 💫
I was in a showbiz pizza multiple times from 2007-2008, i remember the sign and billy bob playing music and stuff, i swear i was in one.
Wait how
Amazing and detailed little piece of history!
Squimpus mcgrimpus?
Balloon Boy On RUclips, yes something like that.
Your video quality gets better and better! Loved this one
yeah that's right
I loaf ur profile with the pride flag!
Everyone gangsta until someone makes a Fredbear diner and puts springbonnie and Fredbear on the stage and recreates the bite of 83
Oh god no that wouldn't be good
tbh that would be pretty much impossible considering the kind of force required to crush a human skull
That's what I wanna do when I get older (and enough money).
Everybody gangsta untill william strollin to fredbear's
Yall mentioning the bite of 83 and william but you forgot this implies springlock suits too
You did a wonderful job on the video!
It felt so new and interesting, I was like "wait....so it's'..restaurant but also arcade place? and there's this..huge doll? thingy on the stage? singing? what is this?"
And as a person who loves puppets and dolls in general, though animatronics are robots, the way they look feels like a doll/puppet, so I eventually got interested in with these animatronics
So for me, fnaf was...kinda informative in a way
kinda sad that animatronics in general are dying. They've existed since 1964 and now people only think "Fnaf" when they see animatronics.
I was surprised at how accurate the information in this video was... most people don’t get it right. Great job.
I’m a kid and I love the rockafire explosion
Im a big FNaF fan, and last october i went to Chuck E Cheese, but when i got really close to the animatronics i got flash backs from the bit of 87 from FNaF, where an animatronic bites on a kid's head, and that was enough chuck e cheese for me.
-_-
You see what fnaf does to you

Great video I will always love the animatronics I wish one more time somebody would take a whack at it I think animatronics could be big again if they had the right technology I think cec should keep the lighting part of the show it looks great I honestly question why they think a dance floor is a good idea it doesn't really create all that much entertainment definitely not as much as a big light show like they had from 2012 to 2015 but oh well I think the company should really go back to the drawing board with their current entertainment options because 6 tvs above a cheap dancefloor that ain't working half the time sucks
My dad worked as a dough boy for Showbiz.
He used to work on Billy Bob until they moved him to permanent dough boy.

They were supposed to be replaced by a dance floor? We didn't get dance floor!
One thing you forgot to mention, Chuck E Cheese filed bankruptcy again during the pandemic, so all the animatronics they have left are not leaving.
Well, Chuck E. Cheese had a good run. Just like Toys R Us, it’s time to move on. But it still saddens me deeply
This is so sad how animatronics are no longer relevant
If only chuck e cheese weren’t in bad condition. Fnaf ruined it of course.
I think this new CEC action sucks... I want animatronics back in my pizzerias... I grew up with that both at CEC and the Florida parks since 1995...
