By the way, my favorite animatronic is The King. He’s nine feet tall. He is 700 entire pounds. He is a BIG BOY.
I am really angry that I found out about this after the video was done. Turns out, Charles Entertainment Cheese has to be destroyed beyond recognition too.

I never knew that Chuck E Cheese’s backstory was that he was an orphan and wanted to celebrate everyone’s birthday to make up for all of the birthdays he missed. That’s actually kinda sad lol
And she said he smoked....

Hatsune Miku is not from an anime...
@KaijuFan 202 hatsune miku is vocaloid not an anime
@Android's Let's plays close enough lol
KaijuFan 202 hatsuné miku is actually a vocaloid, which is essentially a humanoid character with no distinct personality and what’s known as a “voice box,” meant to be used for making music and singing songs from those who aren’t vocally talented or as confident as our blue-haired cutie. though her style resembles japanese anime, she’s not that at all :) i give you credit for trying though !
@KaijuFan 202 oh buddy, you don't know what yah just triggered lol
Well, seeing those unification tapes. Now I see where the fnaf community got their lost tape inspiration

Disney is still using animatronics for their theme parks
@@noahmarshall2380 i was more talking about inexpensive trips like restaurants since i cant really afford to go to disney attractions often but i still enjoy those and am glad to see them!! i just wished they were more mainstream and available to see, its still understandable why theyre only seen at expensive attractions since they do cost a lot to operate

I know many people say the animatronics are "creepy", but i find them fascinating. When I was little, the animatronics were mostly the main reason I went there, along with that i thought the inside of the place looked cool..
It is an interesting concept. The idea that you'd want to zone out live artists for artists who build potentially mass produced, tireless entertainment machines. And we are in pursuit of that, still. Through video games and AI through them to create endless entertainment avenues, and obviously the artists who create such things. Until we create the creators and. AI to make games, then AI to play them. What place do humans have then?
Ever since I became a fnaf fan animatronics always have interest me
Like the robotics and history of them
Incredible video, as a complete animatronic fan/nerd it really saddens me that they are becoming a dying art form and that only really Disney uses them any more. I do love five nights at freddy's but I don't like that now many people only see animatronics as a thing of horror and not the sparkling wonder of entertainment...
Well while Five Nights at Freddys is nearly nothing but animatronics, Scott Cawthon never got the idea from any animatronic business whatsoever, he got the idea from an earlier game he had created, Chipper and Sons Lumber Co. where people stated that the characters movements were like animatronics. So yes the game is based around animatronics, but nothing in relations to other franchises that had animatronics. But yes I will say because of the games some people may see animatronics as scary and not amazing. A quick edit: This was not to argue against you or anything, just giving the backstory of Five Nights at Freddys. I still see animatronics as wonderful things too, but Chuck E Cheese and such wasn’t the inspiration for FNAF.
Agreed.
I really want more animatronic restaurants! It's so sad that no one really cares about them anymore
@@itspumpkin886 Actually Chuck E Cheese and Showbiz Pizza are also the inspiration for FNAF aside from the hater comment from Chip and Sons Lumber Co.
I REMEMBER TOUCHING CHUCKEES HAND, THE ANIMATRONIC ONE XD CANT BELIEVE I WAS ALLOWED TO DO THAT. I LOVEED WHEN THEY THREW THE TICKETS IN THE AIR AND YOU WOULD GRAB AS MANY AS YOU COULD JUST TO GET A PRIZE LOL.
Also, I don't know if you had this experience but a lot of little kids at CEC, especially in the 90's, started talking FNAF before FNAF was even a thing. We used to all tell each other about how the animatronics could get up off the stage and walk around freely and that they could use this ability to do bad things to a kid. In my own experience, our CEC location had a stage door located right behind the show stage that led out into the arcade and I was in the arcade once, minding my own business, when I turned around and saw Jasper trying to hug me and I ran screaming like "NOPE". I thought he had gotten up off the stage to come hurt me. I loved him in the show but I was also terrified of him. Who wants to bet Scott Cawthon had a similar experience and wanted to make it a video game?
Scott made the game because a review for one of his older games stated that "The characters look like creepy robots". (I think). :/

It’s honestly sad to see that animatronics have a reputation like this. Not a lot of people understand how unique they are. As a person who’s building (now currently restoring) an animatronic, it’s shocking to hear that people still believe that these treasures are possessed. As a CEC, SPP, and a HUGE Disney fan, it’s depressing to see how people only know these guys as creepy. It’s pretty interesting to learn about it.
✌😔
I was scared of them BEFORE FNaF.
The idea of “possession” or “danger” is nothing new. It’s just because of the uncanny valley effect. Originally, there was secrecy in how the machines functioned.
I haven't been in a CEC restourant before or Showbiz but i can see how they're unique and extraordinary
Someday i want to eat pizza while charles ent. Cheese is performing
I think their both and love them for it.
Ignoring FNAF and all of the attention it brought, animatronics absolutely fascinate me and have for quite some time. They're such a sacred view into a period of time I wasn't alive to experience but wish I could have. Seeing the tapes, I project into that room and try to imagine what it must have been like to see those bands up close, and it's an entirely different experience. I wish I could go back in time and book a show, just to be there and see what it was like; to feel the energy of the room, and to really enjoy it at its peak. They're bizarre, somewhat horrifying pieces of metal with that staple mid-to-late 1900's facial style, and its that surreal combination that really makes me wonder what it must have been like to see them from the eyes of a child.
This is a great video! Very well researched, written, and edited
I am old enough to remember all of this when it was going on. At one point, the animatronics could be live controlled from a booth as well as spoken through. I had an "argument" with one of them on my birthday. It was more like we were taunting each other and there was no one else there because they were about to close. I remember it vividly. Later I met someone who had been one of the operators and said that concept was quickly phased out becasue... well...
Also, after Rainforest was a thing, the Jeckyl and Hyde Club/ Eerie world Cafe opened up in a few locations which was closer to Chuck E. Cheese and Showbiz but mixed with Rainforest Cafe using the animatronics as atmosphere and decor.
Animatronics have seen a small resurgence in the Escape Room community because the technology is well within the grasp of the consumer now and easier to do and cheaper. (I myself have made some for some rooms)
All that said, thanks for doing videos like these. I found you from your Garfield phone video (which I used to have because... I'm old enough to have had it).

I have a pretty good feeling that after Chuck E Cheese gets rid of the animatronics the walk around characters will be the next to go
Mainly because let’s face it people (mainly kids) are so unnerved by a robot what makes a guy in a suit any better
Do I support this well no
I’d love to dance in a costume like that and entertain people
But CEC is gonna have to do this in order to keep its core audience happy at some point in the future

@@MrJones52 Chuck e cheese doesn't have ball pits anymore
Five Nights at Freddy’s made me try to steer clear of animatronics. This has applied to thousands if not millions of people, which reduced the amount of children who wanted to go to places with animatronics. This realization has led to me believing that Scott Cawthon, the creator of the franchise, indirectly closed a multi-billion dollar company.
Well played, Scott.
Thats not to say fnaf has done the opposite for some people. For me fnaf is what made me MORE interested in animatronics
I'm sure steering people away form animatronics was not his intention. He just wanted to make a creepy game which features animatronics.
I don't really agree with you I wasn't that intrested in animatronics until I started learing about fnaf so I think it was that covid made the restaurants go bankrupt and they had to close down
Animatronics were already a dying breed. Their fade into history was inevitable. Scott Cawthon merely sped up the process.
Not really just chuck e cheess failed to modernize and died off. It just doesnt fit in with 21st century culture
I love this!! Animatronics are one of my fav things and I'd love to get into collecting and refurbishing them if it wasnt so expensive and it didnt freak people out so much,, it's a shame they're becoming obsolete bc theres a weird charm inherent to them

I'm still getting used to the cyberamics at my local Chuck E. Cheese's but I will never forget the Studio C/Star/Circles Of Light 32-movement bot at the Grand Rapids, Michigan location

@@Toaster003 "oh noooo our animatronic resteraunt is losing business! I know what will fix this! Removing the animatrionics!"
@@whistlepunkz lol yep. Here’s what they *should* do.
Bring back Crusty and add Madam Munch as a new character. Why is a chef playing the drums?? He should play the saxophone and wear sunglasses. Crusty should play the drums and Helen should have a tambourine. Madam Munch can have a violin or something. Give Chuck E. his New Jersey accent and red and yellow clothes with the bow tie and bowler hat back. Stop trying to turn Helen into a gamer girl she should wear a dress or something like that again. Jasper and Mr. Munch are unchanged other than Jasper’s clothes being better looking. The stage itself would essentially be a wall with 7 windows, 4 on the top 3 on the bottom with each having a wooden looking background and the name of each character underneath it. Each backdrop could have some sort of word to represent the character. (Ex: Munch’s Make Believe Band sign, a neon sign reading Chuck E. Cheese for Mr. Munch and Chuck respectively.) All characters would have greatly advanced mobility, however all would be rid of anything below their waist.
That is my proposal, apologies to anyone who read it.

Fnaf ruined the fun of animatronics for so many people. It is such a detailed, intricate and well made series but completely intoxicated my perspective of animatronics as a whole and made me scared of them. Thankfully, now, i’m not as scared of them as i used to be 6 months ago but still.

I have vague, hazy memories being in a Chuck E Cheese from over a decade ago -- I remember that band there and how I refused to go anywhere near the stage. I think I was about 8 or 9 at the time.
I remember other kids actually hopping up onstage or at least trying to. It was chaotic, and I remember my family leaving in a hurry, but I can't remember why. I forgot all about that until FNAF came out. I think that location is still open, and I wonder if they still have the band to this day sometimes... ;-;
I have a similar memory! The one and only time I went to a Chuck E Cheese I was around that same age and I was scared out of my mind. I remember a bunch of boys daring each other to touch one of the animatronic's feet, but I genuinely refused to even LOOK at that stage. I was terrified of Chuck E Cheese before it was cool!
My location only has chuck e cheese, he used to not move until recently when they started using him again. But mostly it was TVs that they used for the shows
Chuck E. Cheese ceos say that kids stopped looking at the animatronics years ago, but when the puppet shows on the huge TVs right next to the animatronics are given 11 times more effort than the animatronics where now they just move their mouths and eyes to the videos, then whose fault do you think it is that kids don’t look at them? IT’S YOURS, CHUCK E. CHEESE CEOS!! Great video I will always love the animatronics I wish one more time somebody would take a whack at it I think animatronics could be big again if they had the right technology I think cec should keep the lighting part of the show it looks great I honestly question why they think a dance floor is a good idea it doesn't really create all that much entertainment definitely not as much as a big light show like they had from 2012 to 2015 but oh well I think the company should really go back to the drawing board with their current entertainment options because 6 tvs above a cheap dancefloor that ain't working half the time sucks
There one thing that will never die. And you know what they’re are. Animatronics will never die even if thing like miku or the new Chuck E. Cheese dance floor there will be all way be animatronics. Old or new we should thank Walt Disney and Scott and the maker of Atari that we have animatronics

So, if what you say is true, the Chuck E Cheese 10 minutes away (by car) from my house was a Showbiz Pizza at one point. From what I last knew, it still has the original band on stage. At least, it did when I was a kid and from when I visited for my niece's birthday party a couple years ago (around mid 2018)
Great video!
And yes I also heard there are some..issues with fnaf making animatronics scary and it affects the restaurant with animatronics, though, because of fnaf, I get to know there is a thing called animatronic, and because of this game, I really wanna go to chuck e cheese or any other pizza place when I can.
Because in my country, there is little to no animatronics at all and...I've never heard about pizza/arcade place until...fnaf came out.
It felt so new and interesting, I was like "wait....so it's'..restaurant but also arcade place? and there's this..huge doll? thingy on the stage? singing? what is this?"
And as a person who loves puppets and dolls in general, though animatronics are robots, the way they look feels like a doll/puppet, so I eventually got interested in with these animatronics
So for me, fnaf was...kinda informative in a way
Recently chuck-e-cheese's has announced the removal of its animatronics, this is very sad as I remember Sitting down and just watching them move, it was lovely. I'm gonna miss them.

FNAF definitely isn’t as big as it was when it first released, but the amount of views on the big gaming channels shows that it’s influence is wide spread. I was only in Junior High when it came out, but kids in my class and on the High School campus would play it constantly, and in the elementary classroom I was a student worker for it wasn’t much better lol.
I mean, I found animatronics to be creepy way before FNaF came out, and I know a lot of others did as well, which is probably why FNaF worked so well as a horror game
Nora Yeah, same. I just don’t think it was something I thought about until it came out lol. There’s something that’s uncanny valley about them.
I understand that kids will still play it anyways, i just dont think fnaf could destroy restaurants like that.
2028:Freddy’s fazbear takes chucky’s place

Personally, I think Showbiz was better than Chuck E. Cheese. I’m sad that I never got to see it.
:)
In 1970s,80s and 90s animatronics used for entertainment, now animatronics are for fears and rare
Chucky has a messed up origin story
