    word of advice on pair plus, throw one out there every now and then. the dealers had their eye on me bc they noticed i was hardley ever playing pair plus, all the players at the table and the dealer will tell u "u should always bet pair plus." this guy says never i say every few hands throw one out there. i won 30-1 on a trips and a few other big bets. dealers said i was betting the top "almost never" still learning some differant strategies on playing but so far i have done pretty good, have never left a table for less than i started the game with and walked away with some pretty big wins

    • @BMGipe45
      @BMGipe45 8 лет назад +2

      +Cornerback80 It's all around a bad bet. The odds of winning vs. the payout structure isn't worth it. Just because it hasn't won in x amount of hands doesn't mean it's "due" to hit or anything like that. Just because you get lucky on it doesn't change the math. Google "Gambler's Fallacy" to learn more about it. It's the same logic that Roulette players use....."number 20 hasn't spun in 120 spins.....it's due!" In reality, it still has a 1/38 chance of spinning (1/37 on a single 0 wheel). That's why casinos put up those boards that tell you what numbers are "hot" and "cold." It gives you the illusion that you can predict the future. If you could actually predict the future on those types of games, the casino wouldn't allow past numbers to be written or displayed. Blackjack, counting cards can kind of help with determining when you'll go on a winning streak, but that's a whole different animal.
      Anywho, sorry bout the rant. Pairs Plus is a bad bet whether you play it once every few hands or once every other hand, or every hand. Doesn't matter, the math won't change.

  • @stew7479
    @stew7479 4 года назад +2

    They will also bite your head off if you handle your cards and chips with 2 hands. The dealer only wants you using 1 hand at all times on your table.

  • @jeremycarpenter3519
    @jeremycarpenter3519 10 лет назад +1

    My local casino follows the 1-4-6-30-40 pay table in the Pair Plus and REQUIRES a $5 minimum bet on that. I've had pretty good luck with it for being just a flat red chipper. As long as you keep your Ante and Pair Plus the same denomination, you don't lose on a non-qualifying dealer hand. It just results in a push. The first time I played I got away with not playing Pair Plus until the pit boss came over and told me I had to. I wonder if its the trade off for having the better pay table.

      Using computer simulations against every other hand the dealer can get, making the raise at Q64 or better will guarantee the minimum house advantage of 3.37% which is as low as it can get. It basically means you'll lose less over a long period of play.

    This don’t explain everything. In las vagas or some casinos, you can match your cards along with the dealers cards to make a 5 cards poker hand. But depending on some casino, they don’t let you matchup with the dealers cards. So you have to ask dealers at different casinos, what’s their rule of playing 3 card poker.

  • @zandrello
    @zandrello 9 лет назад +1

    So on your second hand, when you had 8-High, and the dealer had 8-High, if you would have raised, would you have beaten the dealer cuz she needs a Queen to qualify? Or would she still beat you becuz her kicker was higher?

    • @richalsop
      @richalsop 8 лет назад

      In my casino, If he would have played and raised, the ante would would have been paid, the raise would be a push, his 8 high was better than the dealers.

      @BMGipe45 8 лет назад

      +zandrello If the dealer doesn't qualify in 3-card (Q high or better), then the Play (or as he calls it, the "raise" bet) gets automatically pushed and the Ante automatically wins. You could have 2, 3, 5 and still would win

    If u want to play long time and not win or lose much you don't have to make the pair plus bet but if u want to make money it's a must and not a sucker bet.. flushes or straights pay for 4 to 6 hands and if u get 3 of a kind or st flush ur talking 30 and 40 to 1.. He got the highest possible hand, QKA straight flush... the jackpot for that $1 side bet was at $37,000. It's up to you if you want to play side bets, but to me, when you walk into a casino... you are there to gamble and play with luck. when i play 3 card poker, i bet on pairs only...why?I do not have to beat the dealer and be all stressed out, such as that one hand where she lost because the dealer had a larger str8.I bet on pairs only , its idiot proof....and ur money, even though u may lose, lasts longer...i like to have a few cocktails and such and all i have to do is place a chip on the pair bet and the dealer does the rest.I have had much success this way too...

    • @BMGipe45
      @BMGipe45 8 лет назад

      +red7pin your money will only "last longer" if you catch a few hands. Ever hear of "house edge" on games? Each individual bet has a certain edge towards the house. The higher the payout, the higher the house edge (meaning, it's much less likely for you to win, so the house pays more when you do win). Don't confuse LUCK with MATH. You could go 10 straight hands without a pair, yet win each and every single hand because the dealer either didn't qualify or you had a higher hand than them. Numbers don't lie, avoiding Pairs Plus and only playing the Ante and Play will let your money "last longer."

      +melissa bopko It seems like the base bets of most carnival games have comparable odds to blackjack (worse, but not by much), yet everyone insists on playing all of the side bets "because that's where you make your money" yet the house edge is so high on those, they really kill you in the long run.

    Except for how the cards are handled and the payouts . . . it can be a fun game but your luck has to be extraordiary as soon as you sit down.
    What I don't like . . .
    1) This is a House Game played against the Players and they are not even invited to cut the cards nor will the house wash the cards if players ask. Maybe that explains how you can sit there forever and get nothing but trash hands.
    The house is in complete control of the deck but yet required to present an honest/fair game right ???
    2) True Odds vs Payout
    Sf 460-1 40-1 . . . should pay at least 100
    Trips 425-1 30-1 . . . should pay at least 80
    Straight 30-1 6-1 . . . 10
    Flush 20-1 4-1 . . . 8
    Pair 6-1 1-1 . . . 2
    Good Luck

      Using computer simulations against every other hand the dealer can get, making the raise at Q64 or better will guarantee the minimum house advantage of 3.37% which is as low as it can get. It basically means you'll lose less over a long period of play.

    You should never bet on a hand if you highest card is 1 queen. You will almost always lose. Betting with a queen 6 and 4 will for sure make you lose cause what are odds that the dealer has a card higher than a queen. Very likely. Plus betting on pair plus is not a suckers bet. Yiu win more often then not.

      +Justin Crompton they are in a training room at a casino using a basic table. Blackjack and carney games have essentially the same tables, it's just different layouts. They were probably doing several games back-to-back-to-back.........and rather than change the layout for each video, they just explain how the table would actually look and play as is.

      Hindsight is 20/20, isn't it? It's easy to claim she would have been ahead since you already know the outcome. It's just as easy to lose a lot of money after doing a string of pair pluses and claiming that if you didn't do it you'd have more money. You can't predict the future. Personally, for me, I wait until I have generated a bit of a surplus before doing side bets, then I know I can at least break even if things don't go my way.

    I played cards for many years, I do not play cards any more, because the shufflers are not shuffling they are distributing the cards exactly where they want them to go, these games are fixed, they do pay between 30 and 35 thousand per machine, these games are 100% rigged... the only game they cant totally control is black jack, simply because they don’t know what the players will do, this is why there are so many blackjack tables, the casino averages a small win %
