Nothing else but PRICELESS & A GREAT PARTNERSHIP for many years you guys have been winning 🏆 … but you get better every time, like WINE! Don’t break this partnership , you two make it UNIQUE ( you two )., keep Dancing 💃🏻🕺! 🙏🏼❤️🥰😘👏🏻🏆👏🏻👍🏻
Fabulous dancers at the top of their game, brovo, BUT! I can't be the only one who notices this is a 3/4 timing song not really a WCS... if a DJ plays this at a west coast swing social people would want to shoot them, or they would do a Viennese Waltz. I see no connection to the music here Via West Coast Swing. But they did a great job dancing a high level of lyrical interpretation and mixing in WCS structure. My opinion.
I'm somewhat new to this. I love the energetic moves and intricate choreography , but there were way too many spins. I want more substance and less flash. And they might as well have been dancing alone, as they rarely focused on each other. I love the heat - the connection between the dancers. That was entirely missing here. It was an excellent display of gymnastics, but to me, it lacked the magic that makes Swing Dancing so beautiful.
Dixie Gaspard WCS dancing is all about connection. And here it is present in spades, but if you are new to this, then you probably can’t see how they are extensions of each other even when they are barely touching. The nuance here is superb. For you to dispute their connection makes me believe you don’t understand swing dancing at its core. For context, they won first place at the most prestigious event for swing dancing in the US. Even more so, this is classic division where they can’t do lifts! So the difficulty of the choreography and connection has to really shine through to be as accomplished as they are!
ok some great work here I will agree!!! BUT big BUT here Tennessee whiskey? There is only one place these two should be looking... period! at each other !!! STOP WITH THE LOOKING AT THE CROWD/JUDGES/who ever. Even actors know that to sell a scene they don't look at the camera and this was like bad actors looking to see if the director likes the shot. Just dance and enjoy your moment so much better if your just living the moment in each other. That is dancing once your dancing for a judge its just a show and well "staged" lets feel the connection and dance for/with each other. IMO Great work BUT live/express the song in your dance be that smooth whiskey. I want to think at least to this song " are these to lovers?"
Engaging the audience is part of the craft. They were supremely connected to each other throughout that whole thing. A dancer could recognize the brilliance and complexity of their partnership. Also you have to know the game. This is a competition, not an exhibition. Considering they won first place, I’m thinking this was exactly the level of performance the judges wanted to see. The kind of dancing you described wanting to see happens, but in another setting.
Exactly! At this high-level of dancing, it's a performance as much as a competition. They're engaging the audience as well as connected to each other. It's just brilliant.
Im going to disagree,,, They look confident, polished, they know what lines they are hitting and how to tell the audience ,,,, HERE IT IS ,,, LOOK RIGHT HERE , They look like professionals ,, champions even,,, winners THEY don't look like a regular Mom & Pop just fell onto the dancefloor and anyone could do it,, it looks difficult , like they train hard, are athletes, and they belong in the winners circle. No accident that they won... They worked hard & they delivered. I can watch so many of these dancers switchin around from partner to partner,,, I can't tell who are the "Lovers" ... rarely am I even wondering,,,, actually sometimes when I am watching some couples I am thinking ,,, what am I supposed to be looking at? what are your strengths? what is your best move? when should I clap ? Have you ever won anything? is this your best or na?
@Meadow Aplle Thing is, you won't find anyone in this division who's doing what you're describing. It's just a convention of this particular sport, and it's the same in most every other spotlight style partner dance.
Never get tired of watching this. Just gorgeous. Inspiring. Musical to the nth degree. Technically perfect. World Champions. No question.
Wow. You've created a fourth dimension to dance in. Wonderful. Nothing like it.

More like 8/12 timing. It's pretty fast

Watch every other couple from this competition.
