technical speak...from a ceili expert said to me bouzouki scale is longer by about 2 " than octave mandolin....so I have a Foley bouzouki Mr. Foley called mine a bouzouki ...so I do also. He lives/lived in Churchtown Ireland 1997. ( not looking for an argument) if bouzouki player does not change to 4 chord at that C , then it is called Jazz at that point ( so I was told)
Veerrry nice, brief instructions with everything most students need; Notation and slow tempo while demostrating! Really, amusing and educating... Greately appreciated. John, greek bouzouki player, Greece! Subscribed and like, what else...❤👍
Could you make an album of jigs where you just sing the melody accompanied by the bouzouki? 👀 Cause damn I could listen to that all day 🙌🏻 it sounds so cozy
'Directional Intrigue' at c. 23:20. I need that tee-shirt!! Definitely! Bach would have loved that comment. Great teaching, and the singing really helps consolidate all the counterpoint options. Thanks so much for this post!
Great video, that's really helpful for breaking down counterpoint. I'm curious, on the videos on your patreon, do you mostly focus on OM/Bouzouki for the instruments you play?
I do a mixture of stuff... I'd say approximately 20 to 30% of my content right now would be OM/bouzouki. But, I try to tailor my content to who my subscribers are. So if my subscriber base becomes mostly OM/zouk players, then perhaps a shift will be in order!
Excellent in depth video, shame there were so many You Tube adverts during it. I found them very distracting while trying to concentrate on the details.
Sorry my friend, unfortunately I have no control over whether or not you see ads... In fact, I actually had no idea that any of my videos played with ads. If you'd like to avoid seeing ads I might recommend RUclips Premium. You pay a little bit extra so that you don't have to watch any ads on any videos, and you get access to RUclips music which is their streaming service (like Spotify and the rest).
That's a RUclips issue, unfortunately there's no getting away from that unless you get RUclips premium, which I do because I despise and loathe commercials. Totally worth it if you ask me
Your teaching is WAY above my knowledge - but picking things up here and there
ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!! Thank. you so much,Kevin - I've learned so much from this lesson.
So glad!
