    This worked incredibly well for me! I had several bees circling my deck having drilled 6-8 holes. Within a couple of hours of putting this up, they were gone! It’s the best possible solution I could have hoped for: no killing, no pesticides, no cost, no clean up. Thank you for this knowledge. ❤

    I had so many carpenter bees around my deck and home, and I just wanted them to move out, so I came upon this video. At first I made the bags and over the next few days nothing was really happening, I said oh well I guess this isn’t going to work for me and I just left them up and forgot about it, over the next two weeks I noticed the bees were gone. They really did move out, I just can’t believe this worked . I can’t thank you enough, I’m so happy to be able to use my deck without bees swarming over my head. I’m so impressed and grateful for you sharing this info. Thanks again!

    I just accidentally discovered the perfect answer to Carpenter Bees…
    Hummingbirds!
    After 2 years at my house the bees had already done alotta damage.
    Last year I bought a couple of 2 hummingbird feeders. It was an impulse purchase. I’ve always enjoyed watching the little birds zip around 90 mph 😁
    The Carpenter Bees returned early this Spring, but I knew my lil’ buddies would return. After a couple of weeks the birds returned! From day 1 of their return, all Carpenter Bees disappeared!

      I’m thinking that this situation is just a matter of timing. I’ve seen hummers tease the carpenter bees but they don’t kill them. Most likely by the time the hummers arrived the bees had already mated and were boring deep in the wood to lay eggs.

      @@randygreen007 This is the first year I've gotten the carpenter bee's under the eve of my enclosed porch. The hummingbirds are just starting to come around. The hummingbird feeder is close to the eve hanging from a stand. These bee's are huge.

      Do you have hummingbirds yet? Unfortunately, in my area Carpentry Bee arrive first in my region, but when the hummingbirds arrive (very soon) they completely run off the bees!
      People talk about killing them or not 🤷🏻‍♂️ I dunno
      What I do know, when the hummingbirds arrive they 100% dominate the air around the area and I don’t see them again.

    I found out about the bag trick last year. I was being carried away with the little boogers! I did a smallish bag and put another bag inside of it and nailed it up under my porch. It took about two weeks and there were NO MORE carpenter bees nowhere on my house or property! It had been so bad I couldn't even enjoy the deck off of my bedroom. I have a cedar home and they were all over the place. And btw .... the bag resembles a hornets nest not a wasp.

I tried spraying, bee traps, stopping their holes up, but that required me to lay on the ground and do a lot of that, and nothing worked. I put the bag up, and I never see bees going under there. @@mandyt1918 Hi mandy! I suggest that you pre-treat your holes first, then use a wood filler. I pre-treat with cotton balls soaked with white, distilled vinegar. If you can't stand the smell of vinegar, you can use ethanol. Be certain that you do not see bee activity for 2 weeks at least before you fill those holes in your wood with wood filler, or you will waste your time.
      And you must remain vigilant. Once the bees learn the location of your tasty wood, the word will spread from one generation to the next, and then the next. So, close examination of all the exposed wood around your home, every spring and late summer, to learn the location of new carpenter bee homes, must now be an annual ritual for you. Good luck.

    I'm about to try this again. I did last year, but didn't put much effort into making it look right. I think I'll crumple up the whole bag first before putting anything in it, to make it wrinkled so over. I hope it does the trick this time. I have always had just two bees at a time. This year I've seen about 6 or more 😩

    • @toughtimes6596
      @toughtimes6596 3 года назад

      @@pattydaffron285 They are actually hornets, not bees. Bees pollinate flowers, hornets do not. Most hornets can be trapped in a sugar water mixture or rotten fruit in a 2 liter bottle cut in half and the top turned upside down in the bottom. The hornets fly in, cant fly out and drown. Be careful emptying trap though, it can collapse and release some very upset hornets. Best case scenario is find their nest and destroy them there but murder hornets are a special case. Call your local .edu department - regulations vary by state.

    I tried the citrus oil and the 🐝 were like "Meh" 😳 could have cared less and buzzed right back into the holes anyway. I don't want to hurt them as they are pollinating my flower garden. (Which has never looked better) but is also making the enclosed porch under eve unsightly with all the holes. This is the first year I've gotten them. Last 2 years were horrid wasps but they left and the wood bee's took their place?
    TY for making this video. I am definitely going to try this *but wondered if it's too late as they have made a bee "no tell motel" already* 😐 Sending positive vibes from the Windy City 💚🤍🧡

    Notice the carpenter bees don’t drill into the painted wood. Simply painting wood surfaces and filling old hole with wood filler. Also putting screens over the windows will hep keep them out.

    • @Curious-Irish-Angel
      @Curious-Irish-Angel 2 года назад +1

      The one guy who suggested this had a flaw in that plan. If the bee's had already been drilling their holes in that location paint won't help. Something that may help before you paint is filling up the holes with Chor Boy first because it's very difficult for them to drill through that. I've leaned that they are super lazy so they will make a nest the easiest way possible. There is also pre-made nests that you can buy and hang them near the area so they will use that rather than drilling which also goes back to their laziness 😉
      🐝 safe.

      @@Curious-Irish-Angel yes fill the holes with wood filler, caulk won’t help. There are two types of traps. One is a live trap so you can relocate and release. The other has a jar underneath that you add water and they cannot escape. I prefer not to kill them because they’re pollinators.
