I've been adding a "split" to the clip so it jumps all at once to that zoom in but I'm going to try this zoom technique as well as it looks more professional and smooth.

I do that too when I want a true jump cut. The one in this video I really only use for slow zooms.

Hi, Love your videos!!! I was trying to Zoom on one of my clips, my screen does not look like yours. I have not joined PRO, I do not have Video & Scale or some of the other features.

Hmmm, thats odd. You don't need a Pro account to zoom in, and not having a Video Scale sounds like a glitch as it is standard for the video editing process.

How do I do the "old fashioned" dissolve in CapCut?

in the transitions tab of CapCut, look for "Black Fade" or "Dissolve 1" Those are the two I use for that old-fashioned dissolve transition effect.

You can! The zoom back out won't be as smooth but thats all that will happen.
