700 billion in military spending, but they don't have a public health system. And I have still seen in an interview some Americans who agree because "they will never be a socialist country", that has nothing to do with socialism, it is about the obligations that the State must have with its citizens. Health, education and justice, is it the minimum that it should offer, if not, what the hell are taxes paid for ??? The "American dream" seems more like a nightmare to me ... American Health System + US Government = Mafia !!!
I've said this already today but the well trained well meaning Doctor shouldn't be made to feel like the enemy. Free at the point of delivery people! Your sick, you get help... Keep your guns, I could give a fuck about gun control. Guns don't kill people... Health insurance kills people. I pay 10% of my salary each month so my neighbour can get cancer treatment. Why? Because when the day comes that I need chemo he'll be around to pay for it... The USA makes poor people the enemy then is amazed when crime becomes epidemic.

Both Mexico and the Philippines provide 3 months paid maternal leave (the Philippines provide 4 months if the woman had a cesarian birth) while the u.s provide zero paid maternity leave.
Paying 300$ for an ambulance ride, 1600$ for a little pack of insulin, 1300$ for an epipen, and how about paying ridiculous amounts of money for cancer care (chemo) or surgery (when hospitals get paid billions per year yet we, the working class have to pay more than that). Wow I hadn't even seen this movie and I'd been telling people for ever that the law which required hospitals to treat "everyone" who came through their doors was bullshit. My brother had to go to the emergency because of pain in his kidney and all they did for him was give him painkillers. When we asked the doctor what could've caused it, he literally shrugged his shoulders and told us that my brother should see his own doctor about this. He didn't have a primary doctor because he didn't have insurance. Months later we found out that he had kidney cancer which had spread all over his body by the time it was diagnosed.
Look up the Minister of Wellness on RUclips he teaches what food to eat that can destroy Cancer cells. Also check out fruitsnrootz they tell tropical fruit its spectacular for the immune system 😋. How is bruh?💜
This scene alone made this movie so much more powerful. Because it exposes a truth that was swept under the rug for years. There's been so many of these scandals in the medical fields across the country and theres no telling how many lives could've been saved if there was more awareness around it.
Bottom line is all medical personnel took the oath and they swore to take care of their patients regardless of their insurance or anything Your patients come first!!
sad and funny story i recently got out of the hospital due to COVID. for 1 Tylenol the hospital billed my insurance $800USD. that means every time they would give me Tylenol to bring down my fever that's $800USD my insurance gotta pay up.
I've been to the ER with good health insurance and without any insurance and they do treat you TOTALLY differently. They skimp and begrudgingly treat you if you don't have insurance and push you out the door right away. When I went to the ER with good insurance with the same exact condition they did tons of tests. They did an EKG, they did a stress test with monitors on me on a treadmill. They monitored me like a hawk. They kept me for 3 days. When I didn't have health insurance they gave me no meds, ignored me and were annoyed if I asked them for anything and pushed me out the door within a few hours. This was the exact same hospital with the exact same condition BTW. It was the hospital in Concord NC if anyone is curious. It should be illegal but it's standard procedure. We need socialized medicine like EVERY OTHER DEVELOPED COUNTRY HAS but it won't happen because of medical lobbies that would much rather have you die than lose money on saving your life.
All I’ll say is that America would be a Greater Country if We valued the People, Education, Healthcare, Unions, Civil Rights, Teamwork and the Environment over Money and Individualism but unfortunately that’s not gonna happen in My Lifetime😢😢😢😢🤦🏿🤦🏿🤦🏿🤦🏿
It's sad how true this entire thing is. I went to the hospital for a broken foot and knee due to an electric scooter crash. I was wheeled in with a wheelchair and couldn't walk. But then the doctor brought me in and barely did anything to check me out. And then had the audacity to tell me there was nothing wrong with me and expected me to walk out the door by myself. I fell twice but because I was already dismissed, no doctors helped me. It's true that no hospital can turn a patient away. But it's also true you could do the baseline thing needed to see if examination is needed in a further regard or if they could be sent out.

I have to feels sympathy for James Woods character, and the attack on him ruins the message of the movie. Individuals can be decent, but a system can be corrupt. His character states that he knows it is possible the HMO was doing something crooked (although I don't know legally it is a crime), but remember his character SAID HE WOULD WAIVE HIS FEE. Doctors are like contractors for a hospital. It is why they have the medical director character to play the big evil financier representing the board of trustees. The doctor is contracted by the hospital and he claims a fee; HE WAIVED THAT FEE, a fee that would have probably been many thousands of dollars. He is not actually a part of the health care system as a whole, he is just an independent unit within it. I do have my own criticism regarding the organization that represents them, the APA, but that is a professional organization looking out for their best, selfish interest and doesn't contradict my statement that organizations as a whole are the corrupt ones. The character, although portrayed as soulless, is clean. He comes off as a jerk probably from having to cope with sad situations everyday, it is a natural response. WW1 soldiers know it.
Pharmacy company push their own product. Something similar happens with the books in high school(teacher made me assume that the company pushed for new edition for a book even though it didn’t changed a thing) I was surprised and angry because they ripped off people, obviously playing with the health is thousands time worse
Very much so in the US, unfortunately. Denzel's character had better insurance at the beginning of the movie, but his employer switched everyone over to an HMO.
@DigitalxReaper I'm not saying that there's nobody that acts unethically. I'm saying that to insinuate that this happens all the time like this is not accurate. If you want to have the pessimistic view about everybody who works in healthcare you can. But I have worked with many providers as a PA in the vast majority of people I have worked with are good people who care about their patients. People who have made sacrifices to care for a patient you have gone far out of their way to ensure the safety of their patients and community. Yes there can be negative aspects to drug reps. No they're not all evil. And also you are talking about two very different things when you talk about somebody using medications for a condition from a drug rep verses when you are talking about a provider ignoring a finding that could kill a patient intentionally
This is a right wing movie bro, the left wing trust the news and government and obey like a sheep, they don't believe doctors take money from pfizer like the non completed covid vax and say right wings are in delusion, guess what? The differences between a conspiracy theory and the truth is 6 months.
The heart doctor is as innocent as anyone. His checks come from the same place as the doctors and nurses in scrubs. Hell, there is no true bad guy in this movie. (Except that mitch dude, cap slap-a-ho)
This entire conversation is ridiculously stupid. It would be missed because anomalies in test results for children are ignored often because the chances of a serious illness are so low. The idea that drs HIDE concerning test results from patients is insanely stupid.
America is cursed. Please change the system for mid class and poor people to receive health care -like Nhs in UK. Do something fast or this will get worse
After working in medical field, I can confidently say that at the very least, this is not an absolute. I've done thousands of prior auths for patients who needed imaging/bloodwork that were outside the normal battery of tests that insurances will accept the costs of after proof of necessity (latest clinical notes is sufficient). This includes HMO's. I dont work at every single medical facility everywhere so all I can prove is that this doesnt happen everywhere.

Not just from insurance company, the pharmacy company pay them more if they push their product to be use to the patient.
Pharmacy company push their own product.
Something similar happens with the books in high school(teacher made me assume that the company pushed for new edition for a book even though it didn’t changed a thing)
I was surprised and angry because they ripped off people,
obviously playing with the health is thousands time worse
Yes, insurance companies reward doctors if they deny care. The private insurance industry is a cancer
Watch the movie Sicko by Michael Moore.
Is this HMO stuff real or no
Very much so in the US, unfortunately. Denzel's character had better insurance at the beginning of the movie, but his employer switched everyone over to an HMO.
In the U.S., unfortunately, yes.

1:50 Jack Crow- John Carpenter's Vampires
I'm surprised James Woods agreed to be in such a left-wing movie.
He represented right wing views perfectly!
@@mjpthetrucker9485 what about the gun rant?
With everything going on and you chose to bring up a person’s possible political status
This is a right wing movie bro, the left wing trust the news and government and obey like a sheep, they don't believe doctors take money from pfizer like the non completed covid vax and say right wings are in delusion, guess what?
The differences between a conspiracy theory and the truth is 6 months.
capitalism in a nutshell. only benefits the few
Godzilla é mico perto de mim
The heart doctor is as innocent as anyone. His checks come from the same place as the doctors and nurses in scrubs.
Hell, there is no true bad guy in this movie.
(Except that mitch dude, cap slap-a-ho)
Thought he had a ppo till they started cutting his hours
texas thunder no. They changed carriers. Plus they cut his hours. The hmos generally cover less.
This entire conversation is ridiculously stupid. It would be missed because anomalies in test results for children are ignored often because the chances of a serious illness are so low.
The idea that drs HIDE concerning test results from patients is insanely stupid.
I feel like because you don’t believe it can happen it doesn’t happen and I feel like that is the problem with the system.
How many people get the myocarditis after taking the vax?
Oh my bad the news blame the climate for that 🤡
America is cursed. Please change the system for mid class and poor people to receive health care -like Nhs in UK. Do something fast or this will get worse
They already have it how is it fair for me to pay for them it’s not
After working in medical field, I can confidently say that at the very least, this is not an absolute.
