1000 baht for a double room and breakfast for 2 is a great deal even by Khanom standards for a beachfront resort. Quite a few resorts in Khanom (Haad Na Dan and Naiplow) and more smaller resorts and chalets at other beaches like Haad Kwang Po and Haad Thong Chin. There is a watering hole (cum restaurant and resort), CC Beach Bar and Restaurant, a few kilometers south of Alongkot along the beach road. Haven't been further north above Samui so thank you for the tip about Baan Krut. Looks more built up than Khanom beachfront. Hope to remedy that this year. Cheers.
Hi Arul. Khanom is a great place to relax. When I lived in Samui it was a good place to come to escape the tourists in the busy high season. Alongkot Hotel rooms are a little jaded but the hotel is situated right on the beach which I like. Another hotel I like to stay in is the Khanom Golden Beach Hotel. If you get the chance to visit Ban Krut you should do so it's a lovely area. Ao Manao and Sam Roi Yot are also worth a look and are in the same area Cheers Ged
Thank you. Will have include these sites on my journey north hopefully this year. At the back of my mind looking for a place I might retire to that isn't touristy but has home amenities and some bars and restaurants we might go to ...... hopefully not daily.
