Oh a walker, a good one. Thats super cool! Impressed that free bearing just works, but yes I guess it's a good way to do it. I tried with locked bearings and the physic was shaking like crazy, I was waiting for a fix, didn't expected anyone to do one before me. Well done!
There's 2 sets of bearings, 12 total. The inner bearings are locked and spin to move the outer bearings. The legs pivot on the unlocked outer bearings. In earlier designs of this walker, the bearings would completely freak out and send the contraption flying away. I don't know what controls it, this one just works.
@HellhoundIsWsiting Its a little more complicated than just reassembling the legs, and there's a lot of setup involved. In my opinion it's just not worth it to make a schematic.
I kind of wish, they would add a spring loaded motor that you can charge up with SU and then carry the motor around and use it almost like the creative motor except for it has a limited time but almost infinite stress
Awesome build! It surely was hard to make it work. So you made the legs by using physics bearing and applying rotational force to them, stopping the rotation until the other leg is working, and then restarting the rotation to make it turn again? 1 physics bearing is being turned and the other is on the other part of the leg is a free standing bearing?
Not exactly, I connected all the legs to one power source and they all spin 180 degrees at the same time. I used propellers to lift the whole machine up basically making it lighter. Then I used netherite as counterweights on all the legs so they rotate the full 180 degrees. I also locked the inner set of bearings to ensure they spin the full 180 degrees because the legs always spin slower than the sequenced gearshift. TL;DR: All legs spin at the same time, propellers make machine lighter, I used netherite counterweights, I got lucky and everything seems to work.
@@LongingRhino If there is so much luck involved in it currently, I will wait with building my mech. Do you think it is possible to make a mech that can go up 1 or more blocks? if so, do you have an idea in how to make it work?
@@StarWarsExpert_ Probably longer legs, possibly another joint in the legs as well. I don't have a lot of experience with walkers or other machines because clockwork is really new. There's also supposed to be a ton of feature reworks so building walkers could be much easier in the future.
I suppose it is not possible to create mechanical links with more than one connection? Then one could copy more complex and much smoother walking mechanism
It's not necessarily the links that make the walking smooth. All 6 legs are connected to 1 sequenced gearshift so I only need one link that activates every leg. I would have to completely redesign to make it smoother.
Add a cannon and you got a clone wars AT-TE, nice job.
nice job indeed.
He could make an at ot
Yes

Mod link?
Sick! it even has that animated feeling,. It feels like it's a moving organic thing
“Combustion engine fueled by strawberry frosting” is not a sentence I would expect out of a walker
Longingrhino: survival friendly
Also Longingrhino: use a creative engine to start
lol, thats just a temporary fix. I could start it with a handcrank but I'd need a mechanism to convert speed into stress and it would take forever.
@@LongingRhino i know, i just find it funny
@@LongingRhinouse a Stirling to start it
@@LongingRhinoWhy don't you try using the Create craft addon and additions? It has electric motors, maybe it will be simpler to use
not to mention the fact strawberry frosting (to my knowledge) has no crafting recipe, making it unobtainable in survival.
a modder from 2012 wouldve gone into a coma seeing somebody build this
i think after they woke up they would be cry of tears for A. someone made this or B. look how far we've come
We are getting into a new Era of minecraft 🗣🔥🔥🔥
Create's moving castle.
Super cool! With some speed upgrades this would be a perfect foundation for a base
A giant wooden contraption powered by strawberry frosting sounds like some of the "two-by-four technology" they had in "Kids Next Door"
"Somehow I smell strawberries in the middle of the warzone"
Can't wait to go all Howl's Moving Castle.
u cant just show us this masterpiece and not give us schem 😭😭
Schematics don't work because the legs are separate entities and it won't save correctly as a schematic.

this is the coolest thing i have ever seen you gotta add the schematic sooner or later bro
Once Clockwork is more stable I will. It won't soon though.
Damn your good at this
We're hunting Joopas with this one
2/10 not enough bad piggies music.
nice, now a walking worker!
Steve is dead
Strawberry frosting is fuel
Nether is full
working walker, pov : new scarlet and violet pokemon
Actually insane 👍
bro i'm not gonna lie star wars in minecraft never looked so coppery
If I ever learn to make this I will make howls moving castle and I will make a blaze Bruner power it idc how har it will be
I wonder how many propellers are needed for howls moving castle
The whole thing would just be one propeller. 💀
I was just going to ask for a schematic. 😥
Sorry about that. I'll probably put one out eventually.
Try saving the legs as a separate schematic so you can put them together if you want to use it.

For people that really don't like wheels.
That is just so cool
how would I go about making something similar, this is just so cool
can you make a tutorial of it walking cus i already got the clockwork mod and thinking how to make some legs for my moving city
Can you please make a tutorial? That would be amazing
I wish to see something like this but a little faster
lol that's adorable
you can use a hand crank to jumpstart the engine
edit: might not work due to stress
Yeah. Too much stress.
ok whens the Star Wars machines coming out!
Any chance we could get a stripped down version to try and build in survival?
Would love to study how this was made.
little big planet music?
What mechanism makes the legs work? Linkage on a motor? Or just precise redstone timings?
what if you made the legs longer
Dude, it's an amazing video. I wanna make one myself too but I can't find the physics bearings in my game, help :((
couldnt you jumpstart the engine with a handcrank?
theres too much stress
should use a hand crank to jump start it
That was the original plan but the engine and other components had too much stress.
@@LongingRhinocould you use two cogs to reduce how much stress it produces or is it still too much?
@@crazyjack746 Still too much, I'd need to reduce it a LOT and it just takes up too much space.

when clockwork comes out of beta will there be a schematic
but does it work on uneven terrain?
Can a build like this handle any kind of uneven terrains? I've never used this mod just create
After testing, this one can't even walk up 1 block. Im sure there will be better designs in the future, though.
PLS SCHEMATIC
how do you make the legs work
How did you do your legs?
tutorial?
This is cool! But can we see it being used in an Infinite world?
I doubt it would work.
Could we get a Create schematic for it by chance?
This walker is really outdated. It'd be better to remake a better version from scratch.
Can it climb mountains and stuff like that?
It only works on perfectly flat ground. It cant even go up 1 block.
what mod was the engine
Tutorial please
What stops it from going faster?
The legs use gravity to stay level. If I go to fast the foot will be at an angle an it will trip.
Mod link?
Mod link
Schematic pls
I can't make a schematic because the legs are separate entities and it won't save them.
