I was totally not aware of this game being released by Hamster, otherwise I'd have bought it a long time ago!

Tecmo have the pound-for-pound strongest ACA lineup, imo. Rygar, Solomon, Bombjack, Star Force, Ninja Gaiden, Wild Fang, Gemini Wing, Silkworm, Raiga, Senjyo... all killer! Even the very early Swimmer and Guzzler are wonderful. Holding out hopes for Final Star Force, Pleiades, and Phoenix (the last Taito-published, but that's maybe not a problem for Hamster ;3). Riot would be cool too; technically NMK-published (and officially unreleased?) but again, Ham-chan's good with them as well.
Wild Fang does require a very particular zoning approach, since you can only hit one enemy at a time. It can be really annoying at first, even two enemies will absolutely batter you if fought head-on, and a crowd will just annihilate you. But as always with Tecmo, I soon saw how deliberately they'd designed the game around this. You have lots of tools for dealing with it, in addition to basic beltscroller principles, like using your Z-axis (incredibly powerful here, you can run rings around enemy strikes). There's also times where enemies have very deliberate weaknesses to exploit... for example, the Drunker Oni and Minotaurs have wickedly fast, rangey strikes, but they're unable to hit you while you're on an another enemy's shoulders. Lots of little oases like that, anyway, I'll stop before this turns into a full-on ST. (writing one, incidentally!)
