    I love the orange trim in the avensis interior and the cloth seats. Outside also pretty nice design. Infotainment is foolproof, sound is also pretty decent. Just needs carplay upgrade. Inside there is plenty of room for everyone. Huge boot, seats fold flat aswell. Driving is decent, the steering is a bit too light for me. The 1.8 engine does the job and the manual gearbox is good, CVT also good, but not for me. Overall I like that its an older platform with modern look so no annoying touchscreen electronic crap. I even like it more than VW Passat due to many small details- in the passat my knees hit the center console and the cruise control being on the wheel is annoying, seat heater buttons don't remember their setting because they are not mechanical. But Passat definitely has better equiptment like rear climate system and ACC, but avensis is much more reliable because it's not german. Had 0 real issues with 3 avensis and 10 years, now new passat is already throwing error codes. Also I don't get the avensis interior hate, our cars have been very solid inside with no creaks anywhere where as in the passat I can practically shake the radio and climate buttons.

      Yeah, I can't say anything bad too. Avensis was built as a family hauler, that's it's main purpose, and as Toyota built it, should last lifetime, as long as you take care of the car.
      How many cars I used to own and drive, all I can say, each car from each country have their flaws and good. With proper care and eliminating / upgrading the '' deal breaking problem'' on each car makes them pretty much awesome. ( over time everything degrades, so squeaking and such on cheaper cars are a 100%)

      I bought my very first diesel German Passat B8 with 170k km. Made in a year 40k and at 212k flywheel damage...1500e investment and 2 DPF sensors 250e. I needed bigger familly car but the biggest mistake was buying German garbage. We have Auris 1.4 vvti in our garage for 12 years works and looks great no issue. Instead buying Avensis I went for Passat which was mistake. Now it's for sale and I found 2014 Avensis 1.8 with only 60k looks brand new. Just waiting for a victim to sell this nice looking piece of German garbage...😂😂😂

      Good luck, hope you can sell it for a good price. With Germans cars you have to be careful, the older Passat's before 2000 are tanks.
      2014 Avensis with 60k, wow. That's pretty low for it's age.

    I have 2018, pretty high sedan version in a great silver/grey color. I do like this car because of engine/fuel consumption, low noise, very easy use, size and how it looks. I hate this car due to the interior quality which should be forbidden in this class. Everything looks great unless you touch it (maybe except the steering wheel). The front console makes plastic noises. The door handle (inside) is made of totally cheap plastic that you feel like it's gonna fall apart. The seats are designed for small Japanese people, not for 180cm. I have also problem with the mirrors - one of them does not fold automatically and I must push it with my hand - then everything works for a while. It's my 4th Toyota and it's the first one with such mixed feeling about quality VS car class.

    • @KlavsX_
      @KlavsX_  Год назад +1

      Oh, nice. 2018 models are quite nice, I hear plenty of people talking about smoothness and drivability.
      Sadly ''cheap plastic'' found its way into every car, If I'm not wrong, from 2015 or 2017 upwards. ( Even Mercedes Benz, and Audi engine bays)
      If you have electric folding mirrors, and the mirror doesn't fold, that is a fault with the car or wiring.
      Toyota's I have driven, folding mirrors do work, but folding mechanisms slow down as the years go by.

      @@KlavsX_ I'm not saying that other cars (especially the premium ones) use materials of great quality (it's even surprising what shit they can put into their cars), but in Avensis, they designed really nice interior and used very thin plastic parts which are mounted crappy (this is my first Toyota with such shitty front panel quality). I have also Yaris 2 which is all plastic inside, but the material is thick and does not bend. Pushing any place at the front panel in Avensis makes some noise, but everything looks great ;)
      Anyway, other things in this car are really nice, especially comfort and fuel consumption (on regular 90km/h road it's not a problem to get 5.5 - 6.0l per 100km having all my family on the board and my dog - 2+2+dog :) ) And I had a great opportunity to buy it 3 years ago when the prices were not so high.

    • @KlavsX_
      @KlavsX_  Год назад

      Awesome, I'm glad you managed to get a deal for your car. Ah, sorry, now I got what kind of cheap plastic your talking about.
      Wow, that is quiet shocking, that in Avensis model they would put thin plastic, Toyota do know that people actually use the cars and cheap plastic will break and bend easily.
      How are the Yaris? I'm thinking about one as a run around the town, as I live in London.

    • @godojoshi1550
      @godojoshi1550 Год назад

      @@KlavsX_ man, Yaris II is actually everything what I expect from a small car. It's a kind of magic how such a small car can be so huge inside. For everyday commuting we use Yaris not Avensis stil with the same team on the board (2+2+dog). Inside you have many storage places, as I mentioned, everything is thick plastic, but good looking one. The back seat can be adjusted, so you may increase the size of the trunk. Mine is 1.3 engine and it's a small beast with low fuel consumption. So low that buying a hybrid is not so obvious comparing the price. Even I have no problem with rust and I live in Poland. All my previous Toyotas were eaten by rust. But I must admit, I put anti-rust protection on the chassis. And I repeat, the size on outside allows me to slip intro every whole, but at the same time it's huge inside for class B. Of course it's not a fancy car with small windows and sport look, but it's a kind of city beast. I live in suburbs od mid size city and with all my family we do 30 km daily. It's not painfull anyway ;) to say something bad - the front seats are a little mistake. Not sure who designed them, maybe not a human ;) In the end I would say one thing. New Yaris is overdesigned car that cannot be compared to the II. Small outside, small inside, small windows, small trunk.I could afford, but it's useless for my needs.

      I see. Thank you for the information. Sounds like Toyota did a good job on the yaris. ( with a seat upgrade would be better, but hey nothing is perfect)

  • @opoaloas9563

    On the key we see a button with the opening of the trunk what is it for since you open the trunk manually.

    • @KlavsX_
      @KlavsX_  Год назад

      At first, I thought it was for opening the trunk, but it didn't work. So that is a replacement key with extra buttons or the sensor has a fault.
      I can't say much, that car was lent to me for 3 weeks.

      Avensis is better, I tried the corolla touring out as an avensis replacement and it was very cramped, the screen was also mounted too high and disturbed the view. Rear headroom and leg room was absolutely tiny, couldn't move my feet and my head hit the headliner. Getting in the rear seat I hit my head on the roof and it was painful. Boot was also much smaller and lower, seats didn't fold flat. Infotainment was throwing software errors every minute on the test car. But hybrid was very economical. Didn't leave a very good impression.

      @@KlavsX_he is wrong, the avensis is known for extremely good reliability but the diesel versions are not reliable in comparison petrol is much better. The diesel models use BMW engines, the petrol 1.8 is bulletproof. My dad had a Lexus is220d, Toyota diesel engine is not good either although he never had any problems

    • @KlavsX_

      Toyota are probably the most reliable cars.
      I personally know 17 people who own Toyota make / made cars (old or new). Apart from wear and tear items and proper servicing they never broken down.
      Even on the Diesel engines I have to agree and disagree, apart from the extra cost of the car been diesel engine and to maintain it.
      Lexus are pretty good, as they are made by toyota.
