Hi, the books look great but on some long motorways runs, do you produce Podcasts? Just a thought to listen to your books whilst on long runs rather than music as I often listen to.
These are great boots for typical adventure riding, I did a lot of research on what’s available, but for some reason they are very expensive here in Australia, about $560 AUD for the full black and $470 AUD for the black and brown ( this colour not selling ). Yes our exchange rate is now not good against the USD or Euro. Now about 70 cents US = $1 AUD. This is great for you Pavlin, coming to Australia soon! Your costs will be more reasonable. Keep winning!
I've had a pair of Sidi boots since 08. About 80,000 miles of riding on that pair and just bought a new set late last year. Sidi used to make the legendary Aerostitch combat touring boots, good stuff indeed!
Great review as ever, love following your channel and after watching your review and reading a lot of the comments, just ordered my first pair of Sidi Adventure 2 boots :)
I LUCKED OUT! Tall, black, full leather uppers, armored, & articulated street riding boots found at. . . A RESALE SHOP!!! For ONLY $50!!! My 1st pair of dedicated riding boots. . . & they are THE BEST!!! Good vid. Sidi makes a good product & they were on my "short list" when I was looking.
I bought the same boots recently and had my first ride of the season today. They were warm and confortable, I do agree with your points about the boots.
As always I enjoy your videos, most interesting and informative. I too own a pair of SIDI Adventure Gore-Tex boots. Had them for over two years now.. As a side note, in the case of motorcycle gear I do not believe that the time owned is as important as time used. I have ridden well over 60,000 Km since purchasing these boots, I use them almost every day. Others who would have them for the same period of time may only have ridden 10,000 Km or less. A point that I would like to stress is the warrantee on the above boot. SIDI gives a 12 mouth warrantee, repair or replace. Gore-Tex gives a lifetime warrantee on there products. One would think that if your boots started to leak after 18 mouths of use they would under the warrantee be repaired or replaced. Not so going by the importer of SIDI. 12 mouths is all that they give you.Which begs the question..... Why bother to spend the extra cash to buy Gore-Tex when you can go out and purchase a pair of boots from the say manufacturer with a waterproof, breathable liner for hundreds of dollars less and will last as long as the more expensive ones. For the record, my boots are well looked after. I wish I could attach a photograph to show the condition of them. Just one more thing, it’s along the same line. Gore-Tex gloves. I usually we’re out the leather on the fingers long before the liners go. Leather with Hydrepel is just as effective and way less expensive. Just something to consider. Cheers :-))
I’m not for one minute saying that Gore-Tex isn’t one of the best waterproof fabrics out there. I’m simply saying that for boots and gloves in particular is it worth paying the extra cost if the product only last one to two years before needing replacement. (Remembering that a large portion of the Gore-Tex cost goes towards the warranty). I have KLIM Badlands Pro, pants and jacket. They have a ten year replacement warranty. I have no problem paying the huge price for them. This is just my opinion which I was happy to share with you all. Ill say it again “Something to consider “ Cheers.....
Agreed! 1 year of abuse More than 20km of trail hiking More than ten waterfall I walk pass More than 10 crashed in the dirt Couldn’t ask for more My feet are always dry. With Top comfort! Thanks for the content as always!
Thanks Pavlin, I'm in the market for a new pair of boots, I'll give these a look. Hoping to head to Germany in the next week, it's bound to rain and my old boots have had it. Enjoy your videos, safe riding. Regards Russell.
I have the first edition, love them! Just as Pavlin says, great protection, great comfort. I've dropped my GS on my leg and that front protection definitely softened the blow ( got away with a a black bruise on the shin). 2 complaints though, they squeak! like ducklings in a pond! people will look at you :) add silicone spray to solve this. And that they are black and hot, touring in southern Europe they are really really hot. But, if I lost ones I have now or something like that, I'd buy Sidi Adventure again, immediately. And thank you Pavlin for an honest non-sponsored review, mc-world needs more of that.
Hello from Singapore! Im on sidi adv 1 for past 5 years and currrently on sidi adv 2. They are really great boots,no doubt bout that only a lil bit heavy. Love your videos, keep them coming👍👍👍
Afterfew diffrent boots i have bought Adventure2 last year. Till now no problems. Waterproofing ist great, they are comfortable too. I think they are perfect compromise between touring and dirt boots.
Pavlin , u are absolutely correct on these SIDI boots. I however prefer the feel of leather so when they first came out, years and years ago, I bought the Italian made Gaerne adventure boots which have almost the exact same specs, w/o the plastic. Say what you will, but once broken in, leather is simply more comfortable (to me anyway). I have literally tens of thousands of miles on these boots now, they look the same as when they were new, (tho they were a LOT less expensive in those days:). The hinge, the higher throat, the sole, the soft material at the back of the ankle, the similarities in design are simply striking, including an italian version of 'waterproof ' material (works :) and the fit on my feet (11) could not be better. One detail the Gaerne's have that the SIDI's don't is a specially made material on the side facing the engine cases that feels something like suede and serves to give you secure (and temp insulated) contact with the engine cases while riding "vigorously:) The Plastic boots slide around a bit. One piece of advice for you riders out there, if you are headed into rain lol. Waterproofing works both ways!!! so if you (like me) normally tuck your riding pants INTO your boots, do NOT (hey, i was tired and was surprised at the pop up storm) forget to run your pant legs OUTSIDE the boot:) I was surprised by a sudden dangerous thunder/lightning storm in the mountains and had to get out of there QUICK, so by the time I got off the mountain, my boots were like aquariums. FULL of water which was sloshing around inside when I finally made my way into the hotel for the night:) The staff was, shall we say, HIGHLY AMUSED :)
Like the look of these boots Pavlin but I am told they are a narrow fit so not so good for me with a wide foot. Going to get Alpinestars Toucan’s which I believe are very similar but for a wider foot
I have a par at the first version, and I´ll think thats best adventure/touringboots ever. I have driven about 80 000km with this boots and they are still perfect.
Nice boots! I am currently not considering new ones but when I was searching for MX boots, I was told not to save money on boots - I didn't buy Sidi in the end but Gaerne, still a fine boot anyway.
I'm an Australian postie who has only ever worn basic leather road boots before, and they offered no protection from cold, wet, or impact. I bought a pair of Adventure 2 boots yesterday. They are not cheap boots at $649 AUD, but are widely considered to be the best heavy-duty touring boots available. The lack of a zipper makes them easier by far to pull on and the adjustable buckles are part of the boot's rigid protection system. These boots will keep my feet and lower leg comfortable dry, warm, and very well protected without reducing my ability to walk when dismounted. I doubt that I'll ever twist my ankle on uneven surfaces wearing these beauties.
Can confirm these boots are great, but be prepared, they need some time to be 'broken in' before they are comfortable to wear. The only thing I'am not satisfied with is that the joint creaks terrible when walking. Hoped after some usage that the noise will cease, but it keeps on. Unsure what stuff to use that could cure the noise. Afraid of using stuff that could damage the water resistance and material. Candle wax might be worth trying.
Good review, thanks. Are the boots true to size, are they wide enough for warm socks without going up a size? Thanks. P.S. Do you still wear them, have they lasted well?
Nice boots, I must be old school, wear waterproof commando boots, inexpensive compared to motorcycle boots but after 10000 miles no problems and comfortable on and off the bike and you can hike in them.
Hi Pavlin. Now you wear and use this boots a longer period of time and I am interested about your opinion about them. So please give us your update opinion. Are they really so good? I have 100,000 miles on my original Adventure Gore Tex boots and they are still water proof. I do need to resole them however and have been looking at these instead. It appears that SIDI has cheapened them by removing the leather. Has this affected the durability?
Hello, I am using Vespa gts. I want to buy this boat. Because it will protect my shins in case of an accident. Did I get right? In which season can I wear it? I do not use a scooter in rain and snowy weather. In rainless, hot or cold weather. But I use it especially between May and September. In my country, the temperature between May and September is between 25 and 40 degrees. Do you think summer heat will be a problem with this boot? Is it a problem to have it on my feet in winter or cold months? Will it be a problem for the scooter? What is the difference between suede and leather models? Is the leather model safer and warmer? Thanks
I wear the SIDI Adventure for 2+ years, excellent product, very-very comfortable even for a full day ride, BUT the synthetic leather is too soft for heavy duty use (easily gets cut or damaged). Oh, and it creaks like CRAZY. :)
Pavlin what do you think about xtz 750 Tenere? I was thinking it is probably best idea for first bike to buy older one for learning and some smaller trips. To me it seems like a really good bike, maybe little too good for beginner, but I think its the best way to learn. If you tried it how does it seems for taller people, Im even taller than you? Thanks
XTZ 750 is very old and very heavy machine. Also the suspension is soft and the seat is not that high. The engine use a lot of petrol, minimum 7/100km around the city. I will suggest to buy something newer and not so heavy or you will convert your trips to a regular mechanical problems and difficult handling.
I had them for about 2-3 months. The sidi squeak is unbearable when you walk around, You can get it to go away with some silicone spray but after a ride under the rain or a small river crossing, it comes back.
I used to have the previous model but I replaced them with RST Adventure II for (about 1/3 to 1/2 the price) plus they have more leather and CE certified Level 2. You didn't mention any CE certification and level for the SIDI's. So how safe are they? (in CE terms)
All the certificates are sand in the client eyes. The test they made are I will say - convenient for those who paid it. As I said in the video Gortex is the best and will always be. Any other waterproof membranes are not exactly what you expect. Yes, I do believe that Sidi Adventure are the best motorcycle boots in the terms of safety, comfort and functionality on the market today.
You can go online and see the CE process. A CE rating means toe, heel, and ankle reinforcement, a stiff non slip sole, secured laces or no laces, etc. Some very good boots are not certified since it is not required in many places other than Europe.
Difficult to find in my size (43) for less than $400US. Several of the discount shops have them closer to $500US. They do seem to be very good along with the comparable Adventurestars Toucan boot.
@@motorcycleadventures well sure but smell is coming from the bacteria processing stuff (sweat in this case) and multiplying at the same time. Leather and the tannins used in it's manufacturing do have some antibacterial properties, preventing bacteria from running amuck while synthetic fibers, unless specifically treated as such kind of do the opposite and end up stinking. But I know this from experience, not just scientifically mumbo jumbo, that's why I asked. Also, I do remember vaguely at some point that your friend Dima made you put the boots outside in one of the trips :)))) so I don't think you mind the smell aspect very much. Anyhoo I found another boot model, the Gaerne Dakar boots, very similar in price and specs as the sidi adventure 2 and they are full leather.
The boots that smell, during the trip with Dima, were from leather. Sidi is from Gore-tex, breathable material. If you carry about them they will never stink.
I like these boots but my question is this: do you think they will fit someone with large calves? I have fat legs for some reason and I'm having a really hard time finding motorcycle boots that I can close the top buckle or Velcro on. My calves measure 19.5" (49.5 cm) in circumference . Do you think these boots will accommodate my fat legs?
I like my Sidi Adventure boots, too. Only problem: The leather is not very tough. I easily got my first deep scratch on the tip of the right boot using the center stand of my R 1150 GS (after a few days usage). Okay, maybe I am a bit clumsy, but it never happened with other (older) boots... :(
@@motorcycleadventuresScratches void the warranty. Somehow Sidi expect you not to scratch your motorcycle adventure boots. But anyway...I got the old model, more than happy with it so far.
I bought these 3 months ago and I am so happy. They are an exceptionally good compromise as far as protection and comfort goes. Very comfortable, good protection and still you can move your foot more then a full mx boot
After a few hours in the rain, even Sidi Adventure gives up. I cannot imagine what would be with X3. The problem is the next day and the days after that... after a week of rain they will stink forever and you have to change it.
@@motorcycleadventures easy to solve , waterproof socks , seal skinz . Any boot without waterproof liner dries out quicker than your gore tex lined boot and breathes better
I like the boots but my feet tend to be wider than average and they do not fit me well. If you have wide feet I'd recommend trying on Sidi boots at a local establishment before buying online, even if you can't find the exact same model locally, a different model Sidi boot will probably be close enough to tell if their sizing works for you.
I had a pair of Sidi On-Roads that delaminated after a couple months. I don’t think all their boots will do that, but I would steer clear of the On-Roads.
Man. Everybody's wearing Revit these days! Only two things I don't like about my Gore Sidi Adventures is the squeek and they need a toe guard. It's way too easy to tear up the toe when you're in the rough stuff.
Hi Pavlin, it seems, that this boots are great and maybe the perfect compromise . I agree. But i generally don´t like boots and clothing made complete from plastic. I still prefer at least some parts of leather and i am sure, it is better for the climatic and health of the foots. Further on tough MX-boots are almost unbreakable and therefore the best protection for the foots and legs. Okay, they are not so comfortable; but i use them for biking, not for hiking. Ride safe, Hans
They are great unless you have wide feet. In fact, pretty much all the boots are made for narrow feet person. If you are a wide-feet person, then take a look at Gaerne as they seem to at least acknowledge that some people have wider feet that all the narrow feet people who buy Sidi, Alpinestars, etc.
I rode about 150K on a Super Tenere and have about 54K now on AfricaTwin and I think that I will need a third motorcycle before changing my Sidi boots. I saw in your video that they apparently got rid of the 'Sidi Squeack'. Silicone spray in the joint works only temporarily.
I sell these boots, cause I canˋt walk with this. The boots are like ski ⛷ boots.... nothing for me. I prefer waterproof touring boots. But the Sidis are very good quality, I agree
hello my friend realy good boot my friend got it 1.model its perfect for adv ride! i got alpinestras tech10 exelent BUT for walk aroud its like robocop terrible
I bought a pair of Sidi adventure boots almost 3 years ago and they were $650 Australian dollars, bloody expensive. They worked great, very comfortable, waterproof and just great boots, then after 10 months they started leaking. Took them back to where I purchased them, they contacted the importer to see about a return under warranty and the importer was not interested, they said it was a wear issue, so I have been landed with an expensive pair of boots that are no good anymore. Not very happy about the back up service with the boots, so no more Sidi boots for me. I have owned some Forma boots and when they leaked the importer sent me a new pair no problem. I much prefer it when a manufacturer backs there product.
Well .... the synthetic leather don't get well with dirty, scruffs and cuts. In my opinion this shoe is okay for normal riding, dirt tracks but never off road in long terms. Like alll MX-Boots they are sustainable against mud, but not to Water on a long ride. i prefer another brand, which is really heavy duty and good for adventure riding.

Between Gaerne Dakar and Sidi ADV2, which one do you suggest for long touring and occasional offroading?
Sidi!
@@motorcycleadventures Thanks. Any downside to Dakar that you notice over Sidi?
Does it squeak a lot now?
Yes
Nice
Thanks!
Hey Pavlin!
I've heard that the boots get really squeeky after they brake in. What is your experience with this? :)
This was with the old model.
@@motorcycleadventures What about WD-40 maybe.
I had them for about 2-3 months.
The sidi squeak is unbearable when you walk around, You can get it to go away with some silicone spray but after a ride under the rain or a small river crossing, it comes back.
Great review, and they make you look like Robocop :-) I'd like to know about long-term experiences, though.
After more than 6 months, any roads, any weather I can confirm that they really worth the money.
Torn between these, klim adventure gtx, and rev'it expedition h20, really wanting the klim but hearing Sidi and Rev'it are safer
In terms of safety, without any doubts REVÍT! is better than Sidi, but the price is almost double.
Difficult to find in my size (43) for less than $400US. Several of the discount shops have them closer to $500US. They do seem to be very good along with the comparable Adventurestars Toucan boot.
True
not being leather do they smell bad after heavy use? One of the advantages of leather is its antibacterial properties.
They are from breathable material.
@@motorcycleadventures k, tnx for clarifying
Pavlin, did you order Sidi with a larger number than you wear (eg. 44 instead of 43)?
I wear 44 and ordered 44.5
I like these boots but my question is this: do you think they will fit someone with large calves? I have fat legs for some reason and I'm having a really hard time finding motorcycle boots that I can close the top buckle or Velcro on. My calves measure 19.5" (49.5 cm) in circumference . Do you think these boots will accommodate my fat legs?
I will suggest to go and try it first. Many people with wide feet complain about it.
Would you say these make you taller as I’m only 5,6 so my tiger 1200 is a little tall
They will help a bit.
@@motorcycleadventures sweet much appreciated
Anytime!
I use 44 on all kind of shoes... nike, asics, leather shoes etc.
Do you thing i have to buy an 45 on the sido boots?
Thanks
Yes
I like my Sidi Adventure boots, too. Only problem: The leather is not very tough. I easily got my first deep scratch on the tip of the right boot using the center stand of my R 1150 GS (after a few days usage).
Okay, maybe I am a bit clumsy, but it never happened with other (older) boots... :(
I don't mind the scratches, but you are right.
@@motorcycleadventuresScratches void the warranty. Somehow Sidi expect you not to scratch your motorcycle adventure boots. But anyway...I got the old model, more than happy with it so far.
Big question do they squeak
Not now.
How would you compare the Sidi Crossfire 3 against the Sidi Adventure?
I have no experience with the Crossfire
What about the size? Bigger or smaller than normal european foot size?
i have the same boots and i am happy with it .
a bit smaller! i took une size upper than my usual size.
They were accurate to me. Maybe a little bit bigger is better.
Как долго в них ездишь уже ?
Цены на них странные , боюсь купить подделку или переплатить
Уже 6 месец
@@motorcycleadventures реально мембрана работает?
I bought these 3 months ago and I am so happy. They are an exceptionally good compromise as far as protection and comfort goes. Very comfortable, good protection and still you can move your foot more then a full mx boot
Agree
Hello. Are you from ussr?
Bulgaria
Try Sidi X3 Enduro , comfortable and protective
They are not waterproof
@@motorcycleadventures true , but very water resistance , I had a down pour (tropics) recently , very little water seep in.
Soon or later you will understand what I mean.
Nice review. In Bangladesh we don't get these products, so we use alternative ones (you know Pavlin, what are those 😁). Ride safe.
I perfectly understand Mesbah!
i bought them 4 mnd ago, on sale for 1250 slt. but i feel them a little steef! Do you have a result howe to make them softer?
Use it more often. Mine broke after couple of days.
do the Sidi boots come in EXTRA wide? I have 12 3E
You have to ask.
Good point
I had a pair of Sidi On-Roads that delaminated after a couple months. I don’t think all their boots will do that, but I would steer clear of the On-Roads.
Good to know
Man. Everybody's wearing Revit these days! Only two things I don't like about my Gore Sidi Adventures is the squeek and they need a toe guard. It's way too easy to tear up the toe when you're in the rough stuff.
Very detailed review!
Did you have any chance to try Daytona boots?
Thank you!
They are good quality boots, but do not provide the protection I need.
Pavlin this time you are wearing the best cup that you have ever worn in your videos , hahahahahaha , saludos desde España .
Yes, they are great boots!
Лэт ми спик фром май харт для русскоязычной аудитории. За 20ткм немного потерлись пятки. Я так понимаю, подошва не сменная?
Hi Pavlin, it seems, that this boots are great and maybe the perfect compromise . I agree. But i generally don´t like boots and clothing made complete from plastic. I still prefer at least some parts of leather and i am sure, it is better for the climatic and health of the foots. Further on tough MX-boots are almost unbreakable and therefore the best protection for the foots and legs. Okay, they are not so comfortable; but i use them for biking, not for hiking. Ride safe, Hans
Agree about the protection, but I won't say anything about the synthetic material now.
unfortunately here in Pakistan we can not buy from Amazon
amazon must be idiots!
Could be. The best is to try it first.
i bought a set from the site never again dealing with them .
what are your complains?
@@motorcycleadventures for me its a lesson learned . and lucky there far away .
Great boots!
Seems that is v.good product. One pair is enough for every 3 bikes ;)
Looking to get one for myself. Will purchase when budget allow. Its too expensive in india.😔😔
Agree that the price is high.
I sell these boots, cause I canˋt walk with this. The boots are like ski ⛷ boots.... nothing for me. I prefer waterproof touring boots. But the Sidis are very good quality, I agree
Trading comfort vs safety is not very good decision, but ...
hello my friend realy good boot my friend got it 1.model its perfect for adv ride! i got alpinestras tech10 exelent BUT for walk aroud its like robocop terrible
Always pros and cons...
Good to know.
Наш человек 😉
Круто!
Totally waterproof no good of road-forgot to mention the squeaking 🤣 broken foot first time out not for Mx or enduro 👍
Nothing is 100%, unless is made out of plastic.
Cheaper than the $700 Rev’it adventure hinged boots that i saw Revzilla review
True
Well .... the synthetic leather don't get well with dirty, scruffs and cuts. In my opinion this shoe is okay for normal riding, dirt tracks but never off road in long terms. Like alll MX-Boots they are sustainable against mud, but not to Water on a long ride. i prefer another brand, which is really heavy duty and good for adventure riding.
