🎉 greetings from coastal Mississippi. Was there in October for the Some where in Time Festival. My most favourite movie. "Come back to me" transport you back to 1912❤
There is something - something - in this totality of photos, music, characters, flowers and buildings that hints at some level of 'perfection,' if there really is such a thing. It reaches into a portion of the soul and the psyche which we may not have known was even there - there is a certain, almost magical, hauntingly melancholy warmth that is, beyond a doubt, pervasive and floats between utter sadness, hope and the light of a new day. Edgar Allan Poe, had this to say: “Beauty of whatever kind, in its supreme development, invariably excites the sensitive soul to tears.”
My Wife and I also share the Somewhere In Time song as a memory of first anniversary. We have been married now for 26 years as of 2022 Regards and Always Remember
My wife and I took our two boys to the Grand Hotel over 50 years ago. What a beautiful place. Now you can't get on the street unless you are a guest in the hotel and you must be dressed formally. Glad I was with them in those times, 50"s and 60's were the best.
Such a beautiful music and place. I have watched the film Somewhere in Time 5-6 times, and I still love the film. Christopher and Jane Seymour were just the perfect match in the film.
My grandmother and grand father had a place here and I remember when I was a child they would take me with them for the summer. They always rented a cottage they said, but it was truly beautiful and quiet with clear skies... I could never get enough of that magical place my grandmother said ...she sold the place after my grandfather died...I miss it and only visit it in my dreams now...
Thank you so much for sharing such a beautiful clip of unforgettable memories of Somewhere in Time. I have a DVD of this movie I watched a hundred times. Such a beautiful video. Great job and thanks again.❤
That is my dream too! Every October I saw they have their annual SIT convention. I hope I can make it someday there. I hope you and your husband can too! :)
Yes I agree. Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour look great together. I wanted to visit that place too. Maybe when I retire so I can stay in that island in the Summer.
Video is BEAUTIFUL! I feel blessed to have been able to go there and see such a magnificent place. That was in 1998 and my husband was able to go. He passed in 2008 when our daughter was just 10. I would love to go back and show her. She was just a baby then.
Such a beautiful gem this island is for so many. Memories from my youth, a beautiful tribute from this movie and then more memories from my adult hood with my family.
Igual yo, la e visto decenas de veces y siempre termino llorando. Es una de mis películas preferidas, junto con The promise de 1979. Saludos desde Argentina.
We have been celebrating our wedding anniversay here for many years. The words that come to mind for me are "beautifully enchanting." An expereince like no other. This video is wonderful.
Thank you, remember to take a private carriage ride tour it is very romantic. The island is classy and has a money no object atmosphere. A restaurant we dined at had no prices on the menu and great food. Everything is excellent on the island everywhere you visit. Best Regards and Enjoy.
LOVED THE BOOK THE FILM & OFCOURSE THIS VIDEO I HOPE TO ONE DAY SEE THIS ALL OF IT IN PERSON IT'S MAGNIFICENT & BEAUTIFUL & FEEL A REINCARNATION CONNECTION TO IT ALL ALWAYS HAVE! 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗
Thank you for sharing this for us!I am from Taiwan and learning English magazine, today topic is (Mackinac Island the jewel of the Great Lake)than I google RUclips than see your sharing😊
Thanks for the delightful visual journey. SIT rightly remains one of the classics. Highly recommend the original novel Bid Time Return on which the film is based on written by Richard Matheson who wrote the screenplay and was the ‘startled man’ in the film when Richard Collier first arrives in 1912. Years later in an interview with narrator Scott Brick RM always regretted creating the watch story which he admitted didn’t add up. The novel has a much darker undertone reflecting Richard Collier actually deceives Elise McKenna holding back the truth despite his love for her condemning her to a life of not understanding what had actually happened when he vanishes before her eyes. Therefore making Mr Robinson her protector sensing something is not right. The finale in the book is different but just as riveting. Perhaps a true remake of the book (Hello Netflix)
I was wondering if a remake would be made (esp to be more faithful to the book and how popular remakes have been lately), but gosh this movie itself is so remarkable, I can't imagine anyone else playing richard and elise (and jane seymour is such a beauty in the movie- simply ethereal)! if a remake does happen, i hope the casting is just as perfect :)
Just landed here by accident…ooooh what an incredibly exquisite video about my forever favorite film and music composer! Will start planning traveling there….oh thank you so very much Mr. Bruce!
I was there once with my family. We took the ‘ tramp Ferry’ as it was known then. But, I as a child just loved my whole experience getting there and going to the island touring. My Grams remarked, Oh, they sell horse sheet small bags for souvenirs. Her remark took years to sink in.
Magistral película! Cada vez que escucho está hermosa melodía y veo la película me emociono en el alma, tengo 56 años,la vi cuando tenía 16 años y aún la recuerdo,la más bella historia de amor ,es una obra de arte
Thank you for this video. I was there in May 2017. It is a very beautiful place. We were visiting with a tour group and were able to eat the buffet lunch at the hotel. The food was excellent, but I was more interested in the hotel itself. It was worthwhile to see the hotel and remember the movie.
My favorite movie. Thank you for this, it is absolutely beautiful 💙 This is on my bucket list of places that I HAVE to see for sure. What a gorgeous place!!
I've been fortunate enough to have gone there several times. Try to spend the night!! There's other hotels besides the Grand. It becomes a whole new world on Main St...after the tourists depart for the day:) What an amazing place:)))))
@@dp.6868 Had to think about it...then it hit me. I stayed at the Lake View. What a prime location!! Right on Main St. It's near plenty of taverns and restaurants:) Has a pool too:) If you can't get the island, plenty of hotels at St Ignace and Mackinaw City. I would ONLY go in the summer...lol
I did go there. I was seven. The fairy wasn’t much. My brother said, a tramp fairy. Anyway we got to Michigan. Stayed in a most modest motel and then took the only family real trip to The island. I was so impressed. But noticed, horse sheet in packages for sale.
According to the movie, a standard guest room at the Grand Hotel in 1912 went for $3 per day. Adjusted for inflation that would be a little over $89 in 2022. Today, I checked the room rates at the Grand Hotel. The cheapest room goes for $1,199! 😲
Yes, I know the cost of the Grand Hotel. Back in 1997 and 1998 we spent a week for each of the two vacations with all the accommodations and other expenses on the island. The prices on the island should be no object when you visit, one restaurant had no prices on the menu it was no problem food was great. We just did what we wanted to do and spent money. What a great time is was!!!!!!!!!😀❤
I had yet to understand architecture and the periods, composites. I did have a real interest in history and as building structures were important. I’ve had several opportunities to go to several. But, I’d really like to return to this Island and view these structures.
However, as I’ve aged more. I would really like to go back again. Kinda like all the grandeur I will never know, but do know about the stories of opulence. I’m rather sad as my America has changed so much.
a couple of years ago i met a young priest i fell in love with him because he was my husband from a pass life i saw the whole life we had in a dream god reveal to me i never told him because i respected him as a priest he later left the priest hood and marry someone else now iam so broken hearted i dont know what to do when i first saw him and he look at me is was magical but because of his priest hood we kept our distance but the love was their everytime he look at me and i look at him the love was their i beleave we will meet again if god wants us together everytime i see somewhere in time i think of me and steven i am older he his yonger for now i wish him and his new wife happyness and luck i knew he was not happy as a priest and it would be a matter time he leave , but deep in my heart i know that steven is my enteral love and husband of past life , i will always love him , iam going to make plans to vist the grand hotel where somewhere in time was film so i can at least ease my pain
Been there done that in the very late 60's. Rode the bike had a wreck and landed right in a pile of horsesheet. Mom had to take me down to the waters edge and wash me off.
@ 7:23 - Must've been shot at least 10 years ago. The big maples in that shot were all cut down and replaced with pathetic little saplings about.... Eh... What was it? Maybe 8-9 years ago (Writing this on Jan 3, 2023), now? It totally destroyed the look and feel of Grand Boulevard for decades to come.
Christopher and Jane were the perfect actors to play these parts. Beautiful love store. Someday I will get to the Grand Hotel.......Someday.
My beloved Roxanne loved this movie and the soundtrack. She will be waiting for me on the other side. Just like Elise waited for Richard.
yes, she will 🙏🏼
I loved this movie 😢😢..I just cried so much..
Love you CHRISTOPHER REEVE.
This is so beautiful. My husband is waiting for me.
I am glad you enjoyed the video. Thank you for visiting.

My wife and I love the Grand Hotel and the movie with Christopher Reeves and Jane Seymour. The food is also fantastic!!!!!!😃
On my bucket list
There’s a hotel in East Tennesse that’s built to mimic The Grand Hotel. It’s very pretty but you just can’t rival Mackinaw for its beauty

Essa música não combina em nada com esse hotel e o paisagismos. A música é muitos deprimidas. Que lindas imagens!

Stupid penny ruined everything.
