It is not very often an automotive company is born out of a car racing company and then goes on to dominate the automobile industry. Led by Bruce McLaren, McLaren Automotive did just that, and quite spectacularly too.
It is well known that Bruce McLaren eventually went on to become the founder of one of the biggest and most successful car manufacturing and racing companies in the world.
But how exactly did McLaren Automotive go from a mere dream to a household name revered for its super-fast cars? What were the most significant cars in its storied past?

I grew up loving Lamborghini but McLaren has grown greatly on me. They are so much fun to drive! The 570s wraps tight around you and feels like a go-cart. The 720s is ridiculously fast and might become a great bargain especially with the 750s coming out. I'd love to own a 720s one day as my very first exotic car! Bruce McLaren, young but determined. I just wish he could've lived long enough to help design the McLaren F1, I wonder how different it would've been.
The McLaren Elva might as well become a spaceship with its forcefield air redirection system.
Really? No one else is going to call out that the narrarator said, and the display text showed, the F1 speed in kilometers per hour, not miles per hour which is the correct top speed (and currently remains the world's fastest naturally aspirated engined car).
I actually didn't know much about one of the best car companies in the world. This video was so informative and made it really easy to understand Mclaren's history in a few minutes. Thanks for sharing.

You forgot the McLaren M6GT that is the first road car they built but McLaren f1 is the first production car they built. only 4 M6GT where ever made.
