Can’t say I’ve ever seen a roof built like that but mad respect for getting out there and doing it! Make sure the front is up at least 1 inch higher so the water runs off the roof.
I was going to say laying the Boards flat is eventually gonna sag if you put them sideways like rafters the roof would a been stronger but I live in tahoe California where we get 6 to 12 feet of snow and I would have to think about that it could be fine in Florida good bulid and alway can be fix down the road if have to
This shed will get tossed during this upcoming hurricane season which starts in less than a month. remember this post. (assuming code enforcement doesnt get it first)
You need to mix the concrete before putting it down and when you put concrete in a hole put some pack it down then put some and pack it down more where the post will be more solid
zero planning went into this build. that is clear. there are free plans online for building these things. all it would have taken was 1 google search... this is hilarious. he will likely have to take it all down when code enforcement inspects anyway. anything mounted in the ground needs a permit bro.
Hey Paul, you should have placed some rebar in the concrete inside the enclosure. Otherwise once it drys it will start cracking far more faster. Also another great alternative is placing some horse mats inside the enclosure.
Your videos are so inspiring, and they have helped me in so many ways. Especially on the days were all else seems lost, your videos are there to turn them around. Thank you!
Like Dan's Aqurium said u NEED TO MAKE ONE END HIGHER THAN THE OTHER SO WATER CAN RUN OFF THE ROOF, if u don't it will stand and bow the roof in, and eventually cave in... I don't want u to have to redo it again bud(:
NATHANSFISHING fully agree mate, I have built a few sheds back in sunny England and a pitched roof is a must. Plus watch that foam insulation, I had some apprentice plumber squirt it on my arm and took me nearly 3 weeks to get it off by pouring petrol and scraping it off! Not nice stuff!
You want to make one side higher than the other so water can run off and you want to add felt to the roof and also paint it with protective paint to keep it from rotting etc.
Paul, great work! But, the roof will sag. I recommend running 2x4 parallel and standing along the width. You can space them 16” or 24”. Buy yourself some steel roof panels from HomeDepot so your barn can last. Do not use plastic because it will only last you 1 summer.
Paul when you pour concrete you gotta mix it first with water then mix in then pour it If you pour concrete for the wood to be strong you gotta add concrete a little bit then water and over again then get a stick and like poke it all around to get out the air bubbles
Paul I know it’s hard to have everybody having a say about the barn but with all the flooding u get I would cut the bottom of the plywood up a few inches so it doesn’t wick the water up
It's looking great ! I love all the hard work u put in to making your animals the happiest that they can possibly be, can't wait to see the barn complete 😊
Paul Cuffaro. I just need to tell you that you are amazing, you've been helping a lot. I am really sure ALL animals you rescued/buy love you. Thx, love you bro.
Invest in an impact gun for when you drill or maybe a framing nail gun with compressor it will save you so much time instead of screwing the entire thing

I'd recommend cutting another window on an opposite wall so it can have a cross breeze. It's florida. There will only be like 2 months it will be pleasant temp inside that thing. Lol
he should have left a gap around the top to keep air flow moving. something he would have seen if he had taken the time to download actual plans and not just buy lumber and throw it up
Looks awesome. You don’t need to fill in all those little cracks, you’re not going to insulate the thing anyway and you’re in Florida so you don’t need to worry about all that, you should probably cut some windows in there to get more airflow. But for a little enclosure barn like that you don’t have to worry about caulking or foaming all the little nooks and crannies can I just make sure you use plenty of screws on the seams because the wood will try to warp a little bit and that will keep it straight. Also the board supporting the roof should be laying up and down not laying flat like that, going the other way it has about 10 times the structural support. The way you have them when it gets wet a few times it’s going to start to sag. I would do two by fours every 16 or 18 inches across the top and in the middle do a 2 x 6 pushing up on those to give it some more support in the middle. You don’t have snow there so you don’t have to worry about that but you will have some hard-core rain. If you make one side of it a few inches higher you can control where it dumps the rainwater. I would definitely paint it as well, barn paint is cheap and you can get it in big 5 gallon buckets, usually about half the price of regular paint I would get a light color or white for the roof. Being that you’re in Florida and deal with the heat I would do the whole thing white, then plant some bushes between there and your house so it’s not like a giant reflector hitting you in the face all the time. Lol.
@@mariot.5178 I don't have any knowledge of roofing, but I would guess that roofing where it snows vs. where it doesn't snow would be different as far as whether flat is better or not.

True, Sir or Miss Because if a storm hits the water will soak in the holes and dig up the holes because it's not solid enough

Also it will probably rot faster because of the ground
